yea i know everyone had good suggestions.. HOwever, no one has showed me that there suggestion holds up. :( I hope to see people with good times in other cars then the STi
 
I think you should add abit more detail about the Spec-C..

How much power and torque does it have?
What mods did you do?
How much does it weigh?
What are the settings?
Did you use NOS to get the lap time? (This just complicates things. NOS should only be used on Standing Sprints and Max Speed runs)
If you used NOS, what lap times can you do without it?

Basically, we need to know the formula you and your mate use in order for some close competition.


PS: I think my 500hp DB9 can beat it.. will try it tonight..

yes NOS was used.. as i said theirs only a few limits.. 500Bhp, Sport-Mediums,Anything but an STi,PRODUCTION CAR. Although as it seems one might need to use a race car to beat this, if they can even do it with that much freedom...:)

The formula is not important... What is important is the Limits... You create a formula that competes, I assure you whatever your using is proably better then the STi setup, As i noted earlier most of the STi is only Stage 2 upgrades, with 453bhp.

I never said u couldnt use NOS... Infact i remember just stating a few meager limits.. Do what u need to do to compete. This thread is about finding a competitive car that can run with the TERROR that is known as the STi.

P.S: I HATE THIS TRACK WITH A PASSION. BUt i was forced to Master it for the sake of my friends Time. lol Now i can actually see the major skill involved with this track and drifting is favored which is cool :) I mean I was Literally Almost breaking out in sweat when i was trying to get an even better time. I was Thrashing the wheel/pedals/e-brake like never before it was AWESOME!
 
The bad thing about NOS is that every car has a different 'shot' of NOS. Some have 100, some have only 50..
 
Plus apart from Vin Diesel and his quarter mile buddies, who uses NOS shots in a race?

EDIT: I'll still give this a go... when I get home from work.. I'm curious as to what time I can pull...
 
No offence bud but your "proof" means nothing, for all we know you could be chucking out 600+ bhp and on R5 tyres to get that time.

Im fully aware of the other image with a 450bhp subaru on SM tyres but it doesnt take 5 mins to change that and snap another shot.

Im not calling you a liar but letting us have those settings would be nice so we can see just how good the car is around the track and how effectinve your settings are.

If your time is genuine then congrats but look at it from our point of view :)

I had a go with a Spec C tuned to 501bhp with full weight reduc and semi race parts, sports suspension etc, Couldnt get below a 1'25.xxx....

I didnt use Nos though but am not sure it would make that much difference on a track like this, car felt a real handfull in this state of tune. Ran out of time to run another car.

We need exact settings and a parts list for the Spec C please Masterdriver.

Just woke up getting ready for work* Yea man complete rubbish. When i head over to my friends house he has a large coffee table that weighs like 80lbs.. Let me tell you with a stable table or chair your driving will improve like 15% literally.

EDIT:Everyone is asking for the parts for the Spec-C...(laff) ok i'll give you them lets just let one more days worth of people attempt this record. I know its possible to beat the time, infact i was actually .400 ahead of the time i posted, ofcourse during that lap i winded up kissing some wall!! :(, but i'm trying to prove to myself! That theirs gotta be a car that can compete with this time with these limitations..But so far this hasnt been the case as originally thought :(

EDIT2:I'm posting because its true, why would a 23 yr old man go through all this trouble for no reason?? Dont get bent outta shape cause you havent hit the time yet. I've been playing since GT1 as well as driving a sports car since i was 16.You'll need alot of brake and throttle control to acheive this time, thats for sure.(I personnaly use 1 foot for brake/throttle, idk if that helps)

Specialized wasn't getting "bent outta shape". He was pointing out to you that the proof you offered is no proof at all in the GT community - and many of us have been playing since GT1 too.

Why would you lie? Why would anyone? Fact is that people do lie and cheat at Gran Turismo. He wasn't saying that you were, only that your proof that you acheived that time isn't actually proof that you acheived that time legitimately.

It might be worth investing in a MaxDrive. They cost about £10 (should be about U$15) and, along with giving you the ability to upload replays to, and download replays from, your computer (and thus the internet), but also the ability to backup your gamesaves in the same fashion - meaning you never have to buy another memory card or worry about data corruption (so long as you back up regularly).
 
Famine is spot on, the MaxDrive is a great purchase. I'm going to try that lap again later, in a ZZ-II leaving it standard and if needed, a shot of NOS. I'll get back to you, as and when.

Well i might just do that :), because im' definetly not lieing its not that unbelievable of a time, now if i woulda finished that lap i messed up on i'd be in the 1'20's that might be a bit unbelievable, But wahtever i'm gonna try recording the lap witha digi camera tonight, After i get a 1'20.***

But also Keep in mind, I told you at the beginning of the post, I can beat these times, with ONLY an STi the point was to find a car that can compete with it, in this situation... And so far I'm sticking to my first Post saying, the STi is "The Terror of AWD" :(

Regardless of your experience in GT4 and driving sports cars, if you are going to come here and announce a challenge as you (sort of) have, then the very least we would expect is :

1) A detailed parts list of the car in question

2) A proven replay if the time seems at all questionable (Digi cam pics are fine for me IF there is a level of trust that has been built up previously between those concerned)

How can you ask people to find a car that beats something you have driven and then keep the spec secret until you deem fit to announce it?? Is it fair to ask people to waste their time on this when all the details are not known?

ok deal, heres what everyone is asking for, Im' sure your gonna even believe it less now.. HAHAH

Subuaru Spec-C STi
- 453HP as shown on screen
- Sport Medium Tires
- Sport Suspension
- stage 2 Weight reduct
- NOS
- Stage 2 Clutch/Plate
- Stock Tranny
- NO LImited Slip
- umm i think thats about it..
PS: i'm at work so i cant remember each other things but those are the main things and obviously getting it up to the hp using wahtever means.. i thikn SPort Intercooler, Stage 2 turbo maybe and racing exhaust
 
By the way everyone... I'm starting a GT Driving Team, if anyone is intrested, as well as a program, We will be "Team Gran-Turismo", or something similar :), Why so bland a name and so standard, because i truly would like to set a team racing standard of being the top team in the world.

Im me if your intrested, or have questions or ideas... Also i'll be starting to program a tournament prog which will be based around the teams as well as GT.

Is there a reason you need two accounts? That's usually not a good way to build trust, and you're asking for a lot of trust.

Also, if you're interested in being "the top team in the world" you're going to have a lot of competition to work your way through. Competition that doesn't tolerate cowboys very well. At a minimum you're going to need a Max Drive to post replays for intense scrutiny. You're also going to have to spend some time entering a lot of different OLR competitions to establish credibility.

I'll suggest you start with the Weekly Race Series, if you haven't already.

I have 2 accounts because one is a Team account. duh!! :P And also i'm not worried about competition thats the fun of it. I feel I can compete with th best in the world w/o a problem. but has anyone had any luck beating these times with something other then an STi?

Also let me point out that i feel having a good lap time doesnt prove that much as a racer.. Obviously it says your "Capable" of this time, but in a race situation, there are alot of other factors taht need to be accounted for, of which i'm also very good at :-/, not blowing my own horn here i'm just saying im' definetly capable of competing with the top racers in the world.

That time's beyond my capabilities as they currently stand, but it's beyond my capabilities when I'm in an Impreza C Spec, the best I could muster, with the parts you listed was a 1'26, no doubt you and others have gone faster than me, I'm just not the best GT player around, not am I a big fan of the Opera track :lol:.

Thanks for the honesty, and a 1'26 is still pretty good, I could proably point out a few areas to you and bring u to averaging a 1'23 which is my current average.. Just Im me if you wanna hear my 2 cents. The big leap is the 1'23 ---> 1'21.

Also You got a good time with a TVR yesterday right?? Try that one a few more times, and more throttle Control...

Question.. Do you use DFP or DS? Also What is the HP of your spec-C (Showed on the Replay Screen)?

And I'm just saying that there's a large pool of extremely fast guys and gals in a well-established community that have built up verification protocols and therefore trust in each other. Look through some of the names, teams, and results on the Board Challenge 5 board for an idea of competition on the GT world level.

Talking a good game will get you less than nowhere. But fast, clean runs backed up on a Max Drive, and published for open review, will get you whatever respect you can earn.

I will be looking into a maxdrive, but i truly believe i can beat or compete with any lap time:-/, maybe i'm crazy, but i'm in need of serious competition *WISHES FOR ONLINE* :(
Back to the post though... I'd like to see someone beat this w/o using an STi..

hey guys signed on to the forum because my friend (master driver) told me about the little battle that i have started or what he started here and what i started with him. my time on opera as stands 1:21.734 with the sti and master driver for days was wondering why he couldnt match my time. then i told him to use the sti and he was unwilling to use the sti to match my time for the sake of racing. finally he used an sti and the next night (due to sleep and eating) he finally matched. really i know my friend very well we have been friends since we were born i know for a fact that he tried those 20 cars that he said he did in the first post. i know i have a max drive but in the move i think that i lost it so if need be i will go buy another one. i can see how this can be fustrating because master driver was kept busy. With the info that we have gathered i dont see you using another car and getting that time. if so then maybe we were wrong. good luck and safe driving.

To be honest the time itself is still unfortunatly unproven, and while I would hope that it is genuine, we have had many bold claims made in the past that have remained just that. A claim.

Sorry but previous expereience has made most people here wary of claims of this nature. Its why the WRS runs with replay verification.
