Me too. I'll disable the mic's. Open lobbies are a nigtmare. I though i would try something different. 10 or 15 laps in my lobby tonight around 7. When we get about 8-10 drivers we'll start.

I have run into a scheduling confilct. I cannot run this Tuesday. I was hoping there would a thread of a chance of running it on Wednesday. If this screws up everything up for everybody then I will just miss the race. If not then we could possibly kill two birds with one stone here. If we moved the race to Wednesday that would give us one more day to work on this connection problem. One more day to try a few different things. I will still be hosting a practice race in my lobby tonight at 7pm PST/10pm EST. Please post and let me know what you think.

I think that changing the day is too much to ask. However i was thinking that we should push the season start back a week and run fuji as a 4th pre-season to try and iron out connection issues. Rather than mix up the season, we'll just run fuji two weeks in a row.

Mics will be disabled, not just turned off or muted like before. This might solve most of our connection problems. Does anyone have a problem with this?

Reserve list will now be posted on the main page. keyra_xl has informed me that the time just doesn't work for him so he's out. Toyotasupra hasn't responded to my PM from over a week ago so he's clearly lost interest.

i think this is a good idea but running the same track two weeks in a row i don't know about. maybe adding a track like high speed ring or put it up for a vote might please the drivers

I can ask him next time I see him if u want...he is In another league with me...also im fine with making Fuji another preseason race and using high speed or another track in its place

Wednesdays wont work for me. We could postpone the season several weeks and still not resolve this. I say make it a pub lobby with mics off and just go with it. Fyi, i might be around after 11 tonight for a test race. Send me a psn msg if you are organizing a race.

You can give Grayfox the top reserve spot and remove me. I was third on the reserve list as of yesterday and decided to commit to another series over this past weekend. Between that and the WRS there is no way I can put in the time to keep competitive with this group every week.

Fun practicing with you guys and plan to sign up for next season (as a regular from the start hopefully). Good luck to all with the season.

im ready to give up on this series this has been a headache that i could do without so if this is not resolved you can give my spot to someone who don't mind dealing with these problems

Lucky if it was you that couldn't join rooms you'd want us to figure out something too. Tonight's problems weren't that big of a deal. We ran a second race but you had logged off. That second race was suppose to be in an open lobby hosted by you. I was the only one that got booted tonight. Once when I was hosting and again when I wasn't. This problem will never be perfected but we have to figure out the best way to run it. Obliviously your patience was very low tonight.

Why don't we just keep on schedule? Lets run Fuji Tues as planned. It will either work or it won't, more delays won't help if they haven't helped so far. I doubt it's a host problem anyway, especially if it's the same people having problems getting on or staying on.

I don't want to lose anyone over this. We will continue with tonight's race as scheduled. If lucky is still in, it will be in his private lobby with mics disabled. If he's out then we'll go back to my lobby.

A few notes from last night's 11:00 race.

1) Stay on the track. The run off areas beyond the candy stripes are not to be used. If you end up out there once I can understand it. But two laps in a row is unacceptable. GTP OLR states two wheels on the track at all times.

2) Dive bombs are risky business. You MUST remember that when you are drafting someone your braking distance is going to be longer due to your higher speed. If you are traveling faster than someone approaching turn 1 and you haven't quite made overlap, you're not going to make the pass stick without contact. As long as you are in the other driver's rearview, they are going to turn in and you are going to get stuck sliding like a sled directly into them.

3) If you have damage and cannot keep your car straight. Pull aside and let your competitors by. Otherwise you'll end up taking them out of the race.

4) The lead car can brake as early as they want...meaning the following car may have to brake early too. Plan your pass attempts and travel at a safe distance when you are not planning to pass...you'll make it a lot further into the race without damage.

Please note, I was half-throttling several straights in an effort to run in a pack. Tonight, if I can pull away...I will. I'm not risking the race just to have some wheel to wheel battles.

As for the network issues. I have said this before:
1) Make sure you run a wired connection to your PS3.
2) Make sure your router has UpNp enabled.
3) Connect the PS3 directly to your Modem if you still have issues.

The network issues are due to routing, not lobbies or host types.

UpNp allows devices inside a network to know its external address. It seems GT5 needs this feature to properly route packets between different drivers on the track. There is a backup protocol the game uses, but apparently it doesn't work very well.

Right now I'm just opposed to having Lucky host because rev can't get into his rooms. I mean, what if it was one of us that couldn't get into a room? Of course we'd be trying to figure out why but in the end why not have someone else host. Although Lucky probably has the best connection. Because of my scheduling conflict I won't be able to make the first race. Everyone please show up and have a great first race.

I'll host if you want. The host is different from the lobby. I could enter P_O_P_E's lobby first and that makes me the host. As long as drivers are on P_O_P_E's friend list they can jump in.

I've hosted other series before and there are never connection issues except for isolated issues with specific drivers that do not have the proper NAT type. Check your network settings panel on your PS3. It should be NAT2 or NAT1. If it says NAT type 3, you've got to adjust your router settings. You might be able to connect, but not all drivers will see you on the track...or you may not see them.

Ok, lol. We'll go back to my lobby with chuyler as the host. Let's hope that this is the last time we have to change it. I'll probably already be in the room practicing, but I'll leave when chuyler shows up to make him host. I'll post here when the lobby is open to everyone to join.

What time do you want me on? I can probably drop in any time after 10:00 Eastern time.

i have set up a online room i would like to see if that helps so join if you can lets at least try this. this is how we run other series and it works without fail.

seeing that stone has dropped out of series there is only revjack that has a issue with his connection. one person not being able to connect is better than have multiple people getting booted , at least that is my view on things, sorry revjack no disrespect meant but we have to think about the big picture here.

I also have issues getting in lucky's room. We clearly have some compatiblity issues between racers. I've hosted for 8 months with no issues before this series. I have yet to see arrobaa on track.

I'm going to be practicing in my lounge in a few mins if anyone wants to join me. Just remember that we all have to leave and re-enter once chuyler shows up.
Tonight's race is in P_O_P_E's private lounge

OP will be updated with standings tomorrow. As i seem to be the only one pushing the team championship, i think i'll just drop the idea. If anyone is interested in doing up a fancy chart or excel thing for the standings just let me know, otherwise it'll be plain text with my favorite red/blue combo.

We didn't have any major connection problems. Revjack once again couldn't join the room, and continued to try during the race which is quite distracting. Unless he's able to make changes to his connection, i can't justify holding the slot for him. Lucky and myself couldn't see each other during practice, but once he left and re-entered it was ok. Lucky left half way through the race, and shortly before texted "sorry" during the race. Not sure if it was connection related or just a bad race.

My race report;
Last week i lost my internet for a min, just so happened to be during the countdown for the race start. GP/F is my favorite track, i was feeling good in my new GTR, and while i didn't expect to win, i was hopefull for a podium. After hours of practice, to be robbed of even competing killed me. I'm now closer to my router and am forcing all computers off and iphones to 3g on tuesday nights, lol. I didn't practice at all for Fuji, not until about an hour before the race. Just long enough to get my tranny tuned and run a 1:36. Maybe 10 laps. So i wasn't suprised when i qualified last. I misjudged the first corner, thought i had left lots of room and was planning to find a way through whatever mess was going to happen. Instead i slammed boshuter hard from behind, causing heavy damage to both of us. Sorry boshuter. We both pitted on the first lap and after just one lap i was 50+ seconds behind...crap! Knowing that i didn't have the pace of the field i decided that i would try and finish the race on two sets of softs. Only ever managed a 34.xxx but with only a few laps to go i caught up to greest_lightnin and picked up a position. I was lapped by half the field, and finished 2.5mins behind chuyler. But i didn't spin, didn't crash(except into boshuter), and didn't hold up any of the cars that lapped me(i think, let me know if i did). So for me, i got some points and experience.

Congrats to chuyler on a knockout win, very vettelish of you! But for me the drive of the day goes to boshuter. To be taken out first corner and be over half a lap down after lap one, and then come back to clinch 5th and almost 4th, that was impressive!

FYI, chuyler, Drex, and Nic will all be starting on hards next week at toyko.

does this ring a bell!!!! wow, if that was a points race just drop me from your series

I suggested it. Not everyone was on board with the idea, so I posted on this same page that we were going ahead as scheduled. This is the second time in two pages that you've threatened to leave, if you don't want to be here then there's nothing I can say.

However, if there was confusion as to whether or not this was a points race I'm willing to change things a bit. Everyone can drop their lowest points finish, with the exception of the finale which will be double points.

I think everyone was well aware that this was a points race, but I do like the idea of being able to drop their lowest points race, or to miss a race without losing points.

After that first turn bump my race was pretty uneventful, I just ran laps all by myself. I watched the replay of the race and am very thankful that I was running alone, something needs to be done about the aggressive driving in this series.

My race report:

Race Start: I opted not to install a turbo (just engine 3) which I think made my car slow off the starting grid but fast in 5th and 6th gear. I spun the tires a little but Nic got a huge jump and had the best line for the first turn anyway. I ducked behind him and we both went wide around the corner. Someone bumped me while I was turning in but thankfully it didn't cause any damage.

Lap 1: I followed Nic and left plenty of room as my car is very twitchy on cold tires. Lefty was right behind and a little too close for comfort on the first lap but I just turned in early and left room on the outside in case he missed a braking point.

Lap 2-5: I drafted Nic up the straight (i think it was lap 2) and took the lead before the brake zone of turn 1. Nic followed safely behind for about two laps before he missed the braking point of turn 3 (the first left hander). He went wide and Lucky caught up to me on the esses. I got a better run off the final turn and the NSX is very quick from 4th gear on but lucky closed the gap with the draft. He stayed behind but I think he lost me at the same place Nic did. Maybe I'm braking early for turn 3...but I play it safe and clip the apex at full throttle and never run wide.

Lap 13: I make my first pit stop with a 14 second lead...I probably should have pitted earlier but I saw that I was still making time on 2nd place so I pushed it a few laps longer than my original plan. GrayFox had pitted much earlier and since he was also in an NSX I was worried he was silently making up time from his pit stop. I lucked out and exited pit road in 3rd behind drex and lucky with GrayFox out of drafting distance in 4th. I caught drex after a few laps and had no trouble passing him. Then I caught lucky several laps later. He was quick through the esses but I was able to catch him on the straight. I was pretty sure my tires were fresher and softer so I stayed clear of him in the brake zone to 1 and was able to out brake him. I think it took a few more turns to finally get it done because I didn't want to incur damage. After the pass he drafted me up the straight but I lost him on turns 4/5 which I can run almost flat out on fresh tires with a slight lift at mid point.

Lap 23: I came across some lap traffic greest I think. I had pretty worn tires so drafting him up the straight helped my lap times. I eventually got close enough to draft pass on lap 24 but he caught me at the esses on laps 25 and 26...so I made my final pit stop on lap 26. When I exited, I saw POPE coming down the straight. I think he yielded to me and followed for a bit.

Lap 36: I was reading lap times and forgot to turn at the slight bend of turn 9. I over corrected while on the grass and tapped the inside wall. It gave me minor front suspension damage and I lost about 10 seconds. Luckily I was up 24 seconds at the time. I saw my lead drop as low as 12 seconds as I nursed the car around the track another two laps.
