GTP used to have a rep system several iterations ago before Jordan removed it because it was abused. I'm guessing that when he moved GTP over to XenForo, the likes were carried over.

I'm actually surprised to have the logrolling system back in place. I suspect it's because just about every other site in existence now has a "like" button, and Jordan just got tired of being asked why we don't have one. So he said "screw it" and added it back.

Wow the new picture upload feature is amazing!!! Just drag and drop the pics from your computer. So easy! The rest of the site is looking good as well and loads instantly. Great job Jordan. All the hard work really paid off.

Are we able to see all the past status updates or are we only limited to the latest ten status updates? On the forum main page. Because I would like to check on some which are a few hours further back in time than the last one posted.
That's actually the only place to see recent activity filtered by status updates, but I see your point and agree that's an interesting idea.

Not sure if already suggested but I would find a 'favorites' option to be really handy with an icon up by the inbox/alerts.
You could favorite any threads you always visit and be able to instantly jump to them via your favs list.

It's not quite the same thing, but you can always bookmark this link to have quick access to any watched threads. I've just taken to doing that to keep them all in one easily viewable area 👍

One thing I'm really liking about the new version is that, finally, it properly tracks "last post read" across sessions. I never understood the logic behind requiring you to read all unread posts of interest, or losing track of some unread messages.

Just want to say I really like the conversation and image uploading features.👍

FYI, it was designed to ease the load on the server, because what we have now requires quite a bit more data storage and processing on the server's side. The old forum software code base was nearly a decade old.

Have to say that I'm really enjoying the update, especially the way the quote system works now when it comes to multiple pictures, like this. Excellent work. 👍

Ahhh yeaaah, feels good man

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I've got nothing done at work this week. But I have an excuse...new GTPlanet!!! :dunce:

Overall, a big improvement, @Jordan. 👍

Jordan,

Any chance post count could be added to our posts like before? Not a deal breaker of course. :)

I like the new look and it functions really well, I do miss some of the statistical stuff you got previously though.

Oh, pretty cool, missed that. Thanks.

Has the forum's default time (the time you see when not logged in) changed to GMT or something instead of US time?

Yep, the default time is now GMT.

Is there a way to find out if you've posted in a thread other than by searching? I kinda miss that little green icon.

@BobK Your avatar will be shown near the number of replies if you have replied to a thread.

When are premium smilies coming? just kidding.

I love the new mobile/site. I do have a couple concerns. I find that on my wife and I's phones, S2 and S3, there is a lot more battery usage. I get about 6-7 hours of YouTube on a single charge, I get about the same using this mobile site?

I also get terrible lag in the reply text box, only other thing I have running is BBM and sitting at 450mb available ram - browser and BBM in foreground. This is on the S2 running Jellybean with stock browser.

Thanks, I'm glad you like the new site.

I've had other reports of sluggish text input, though I'm not immediately sure what would be causing that, especially on a more modern device. For now, I recommend hitting the wrench icon in the editor to use the basic editor, which should have no performance issues.

It's unlikely the web page could have much of an impact, if any, on your battery life.

Yeah, I get that problem quite frequently as well.

OK, that would be an issue with the content delivery network servers - the CSS and JavaScript files aren't loading. Are both of you using Chrome?

Does it happen intermittently? In other words, are you browsing pages and then all of a sudden it looks like that? Does it work the next time you load a page?

Also, could you open the command line on your computer and type nslookup cdn.gtpla.net and then post the output here? This will tell me which servers you are connecting to.

Yes I'm using Chrome and yes it does happen intermittently. I browse the forums and all of the sudden when I load a new page on the site it'll look like that. I've tried refreshing as soon as the problem arose several times, but it only starts working after I try again in a few minutes. In other words once the problem happens it takes a while to go away.

I think I did that right.

Great, thanks, @Apok. I think I may finally be getting closer to the root of the problem. For everyone else who has experienced this (where the page looks like what you see in @GranTurismo916's screenshot), if you could confirm that you were also using the Google Chrome browser, that would be a great help.
