I quite miss the 'View New posts' button that used to be on the top right corner...

Yeah, I have it bookmarked. 👍 But I mean, it was useful for me anyway, to just go on a thread, then instantly jump back to the newest posts by hitting that button...I will get used to just going back to the main page each time but it's just because I've been doing that since 2009.

Site is good but any chance for a dark version? I know others would like one, maybe later in the future after all the bugs and bumps are worked out?

I usually go for the dark option on other sites if it's available.

I can see the upsides of having such an option on GTP, but I'm so used to how it looks anyway that I probably wouldn't make much use of it. The brighter look works pretty well on this site IMO.

@Jordan the site is fantastic! The only problem I had was I usually loaded up the user control panel instead of the home page and I though the site was down haha. No complaints here, thanks for your hard-work. :-)

@Akmuq I mentioned it earlier in the Infield, but after you've saved the new bookmark or have it in your autofill options in Chrome, select the old one using the arrows and press Shift+Delete to remove it from autofill. Not sure if it works in other browsers, but it's a very handy way of removing things like dead links or spelling errors.

@TJ13 and @Wiegert, perhaps take a look at this extension, if you're using Chrome that is :)

I'm not really a Chrome user, but am aware of the inverted colour feature some plugins have which can help at times. There's even a FireFox equivalent that should do the trick. 👍

I am also not a chrome user and I also know the firefox equivalent is somewhat helpful but it doesn't hurt to have a dark theme option. Right?

I'm using Safari as I have a Mac. That's not a problem is it? I also want a dark theme.

It was, but from my understanding of the software platform, that decision was made to ease server loads and minimize spam. I believe it can be changed to mimic the old approach if Jordan desires, though.

As its looked at only occasionally I don't think it would be so much of a burden on the server, it could be captcha protected to stop bots.

I was just thinking this. I liked being able to check my position in the posting race. :p

Yeah

You also can't see who else is in the same subforum or thread as you are anymore.

Yeah, sadly I don't think its coming back soon.

I kind of disagree with that since when I first joined I looked at someones post count and it give me an instant feel that they had been here at GTP for sometime and could help better in a situation?
Now with the new look at the moment I could be asking a technical question of some regards about Gran turismo series or GTP to a new member and not know it without clicking elsewhere to found out whom am talking with.
Actually, that's a very valid point, now that I think about it.

Wow... I haven't been on GTPlanet in a few weeks, mainly due to an insanely busy schedule, and I am completely wowed by this new site!

As long as they're helping you or answering your questions in a helpful manner, how's that a problem?

I'm personally happy to see the post count no longer appearing below our avatars and usernames. Mainly because it definitely contributes to a cleaner look.

I like it because not seeing it readily decreases the emphasis on post count. Which hopefully will help cut down on useless posts and postwhoring in general.

No, unless you're the one who has to design, build, and maintain it, in perpetuity. ;)

Is it just me or does the GTP icon that appears next to "GTPlanet Forums" (when you have it bookmarked in the toolbar in Chrome.) darker?

Nice spot 👍

It seems to be somewhat... 'rounder' as well.

Mine doesn't show at all.

The mobile shortcut icon seems lighter.

Hey guys, are those emotion things no longer part of the site? Because I can't see them working, I'm just seeing the phrases they represent such as "" or "👍"

Are we able to see all the past status updates or are we only limited to the latest ten status updates? On the forum main page. Because I would like to check on some which are a few hours further back in time than the last one posted.

Yes very true but with myself being very frequent in the marketplace during GT5 its normally frustrating when you get new members come along who are not wise enough in answering most questions regarding that certain forum area. (Or possibly other areas of GTP?)
Thats why I drew on the explanation of you,d probably get a better an answer from someone whos been here longer, And with not seeing the post count unless you click the profile or profile page you don,t really have a instant indication of how long someone has been around on these forums, Unlike when you had a clear site of someones post count?
Maybe instead of the post count how about something on the lines of when a member joined. Just an idea. That would work as well probably even better in the explanation am trying to give.

Don,t get me wrong I do & don,t like it? But post whoring is always going exsist. But for the sake of seeing someones counts is neither here nor there. It can help in some cases. But now we will also see a new trend like the LIKE whoring aswell. :)

EDIT: Plus I do like the clean look of things has they are. :D

Btw, how do posts from years and years ago have lots of random likes?
