That's not something which can be supported on the site. You'll need to look into browser settings or browser plugins For that type of functionality.

Oh oke, I'll look into it, thanks Jordan

Okay, first some positive feedback. The alert system is brilliant. No more forgetting about topics you've posted on or never noticing someone addressed you or quoted you. Simply amazing.

Negative feedback: The so-called "status" message. I don't particularly like how posts by yourself on your profile page have become a status message. Not only do your posts get displayed as status message if you engage in a conversation with someone else on your profile, but with every status update you do, you get a post on your profile page with -no- way of deleting it, cluttering up the place. My humble opinion, either get rid of one or the other, or separate the profile post system from the status one. It just doesn't make sense that they are joint together when they're supposed to do entirely different things.

I'm not sure I understand your issue, @Coxis. You can delete any post on your profile.

This is why we have the Conversation system - to have conversations.

@Jordan: You can't, you can only edit them or report them like JK83 said.

@Famine: Yes, Famine, I'm very aware of the conversation system. However, sometimes people do engage in conversations on their profile or anyone else's. Sometimes someone might post a happy birthday message and then you'll reply to them thanking them. It just seems silly to me that a reply to a simple post on your profile also becomes your user status. Let's say you update your message to "Can't wait for GT6!" and then you say "Thanks!" to someone congratulating you for your birthday by posting on your profile (a common occurrence). Your status is immediately overridden to "Thanks!" even though you set your status outside of your profile page, on the main page of the forums. Your own profile posts and the status system being linked strikes me as a little weird.

OK, I think being unable to delete your own profile posts was a bug. Check, it should be fixed now.

@Coxis You might be misunderstanding the way profile post comments are designed to work. Click on "Comment" below any post on your profile. This creates a mini discussion thread below the status, and posts you make there have no impact on your status. The user who posted that message will also receive an alert that you have replied. See my profile for an example of some of these discussions.

@Jordan: Thanks, not being able to delete old posts was a little annoying. I see what you're saying now about responding to a post creating a discussion indented below it. It all makes way more sense now. This behavior wasn't in the previous version, so I had no idea. Thanks. :)

Will the new site have the Christmas lights at the top? As it's the only lights I have up for Christmas, I'm lazy:O

Just out of curiousity.

There is no "small speech-bubble icon" for multi-quoting anymore. Does this mean that we have to multi quote manually or is the multi quote system going to be restored? Or does the "tags" system replaces the multi quoting feature?

I have no problem in doing it manually.

You can click on multiple reply buttons and it'll add the quotes to your reply.

Is there a way to see your post count? As in posts, not combined total of posts, PM's, visitor messages etc, which is what currently is displayed.

Do you mean this? Probably not but it was worth to try.

No, that number is the sum of your (okay, my) posts, PM's, etc. to which I referred.

I just went to see some old conversations from the year 2006, and couldn't help but notice some posts had actually received likes back then, one even had 4. This leads to the question, was there already a like feature in an older version of GTP, which then resurfaced with the latest update?

Yes, it carried over from a similar feature used a few years back. When the update went live, you could see that some of the long-term members already had a few likes.

This is as far as I know, your actual post count and not the combined post, PM's VM's count.

You can check it out yourself. Click on your avatar and see how many post you have made so far. Post something and click on your avatar again and see if the post count has gone up with one.

I believe it was a reputation thing instead of a like thing. The more likes you got, to higher your reputation.

Yes, positive rep votes on old posts were imported as "likes".

@kikie and @mattythedog, it appears you are right; visitor messages and PM's don't count. I was thinking they do because when you click on an avatar it says message count not post count. That plus I'd seen a report or two of their message counts having gone down (which can happen when a mod deletes messages/threads).
