Talking about the Japanese developer, Polyphony Digital, Yoshida revealed that it will be a few years before we see GT6, as Kazonuri Yamauchi and his team is currently working on some updates for GT5 and will move on to designing the next project soon.

“As far as the Gran Turismo team’s concerned, they are still working on updating the games, so they’re just shifting to the designing and concepting phase of the next project. It’s going to take a few years.”

They said they were going to "make GT5 live up to expectations"
Whose expectations are they based on?

Hopefully, PD makes the right decision of what content they're going to implement on GT5's updates and GT6, which is observing the community's ideals and suggestions, and how they'll react to their ideals and suggestions. That's what makes a great game, right?

Well at least PD are focusing their efforts on fixing and improving their current game instead of focusing on any new projects first. *coughshift2cough*

Man this is unbelievable. Do they never learn?

Kaz: "We set the groundbases with GT5, so you can have GT6 MUCH earlier", yeah right... -.-' Sony should realize that PD needs more manpower, GT5 is a GREAT driving simulator but in MY opinion, a MISERABLE racing simulator and a mediocore game.
Only left to say that they'll hopefully release GT6 on the PS4, bitches.

Good, this is why I love PD.
They will continue improving GT5, they won't leave us with a broken game and go work on a new project.
Nice, good info.

Besides the fact, that with a budget of what?:80 million dollars and over 5 years they should have shipped the game in a marvallous and perfect condition, there is NOTHING unrealistic or ungreatful in saying that, it is just mere fact.

Look at Forza 4 (yeah maybe worse physics engine) but look at it, this game's car AND surrounding visuals are GOERGOUES and this game is COMPLETE, has a lot of meaningful content (their top gear content e.g.).

How comes they were able to do this?

In my eyes, PD is not what it once was.

Forza 4 isn't out yet.

I would replace "Great driving simulator" by "I_dont_want_to_be_associated_with_need_for_speed_shift_but_i_am_no_better driving simulation"

What are you smoking ?
Forza Motorsport released on Xbox in 2005
Forza Motorsport 2 released on Xbox 360 in 2007
Forza Motorsport 3 released on Xbox 360 in 2009
Forza Motorsport 4 release date: October 14, 2011

Oh I think I got it, you mean Forza Motorsport 4 is the only Forza Motorsport game on par with GT5 ? Hahaha.

I'm not surprised at all, but I'm hoping that GT6 has at least double the premium cars of GT5 when it's released and its a complete game.

GT5 was supposed to be out in "A" year after PS3 was released and it took 3 to 4 years to be released....so the "It’s going to take a few years" could easily be 6 to 8 years from now.

Exactly that.

Sorry, but FM3 is way too weak to compare with GT5, what it does better? the cars sound only maybe?

Maybe FM4 will take its chance.

I knew I would turn that into a Forza vs. GT threat, so guys, we should chill out. But I lost my respect for PD lol.

So you don't think GT5's cars, premium at least, and the surrounding mountains/tuscany/valleys/etc., aren't goergoues (or however you decided to muff up gorgeous)?

LOL you troll, no native speaker here so get back into your cave. And if you would use logic, you would see I never implied GT5's cars are the problem, but the surroundings. And oh yeah we have teh 3 tracks, which look good (not more), but the rest looks like PS2, again-not more.

A few years? Is the PS3 even going to be relevant then? OR are they going to push GT6 to the PS4 and we won't see it for 4-5 more years because they will "need" to redo everything.

No, you clearly implied it. you said forza's physics weren't as good as gt5's but you balanced that by implyingg that forza's cars and surroundings were better than gt5's. You're the one that is trolling here on a gt5 forum

He never mentioned GT5 in that line, only saying that Froza has pretty sweet detailing (cars/locations) so no, you were trolling.

I'm kinda expecting PD to announce the day before GT6 is due that there'll be a delay because they want to put it onto the PS5 platform and we'll have to wait 5 years. Just seems to be the backwards way PD is operating right now...

Since getting a new full hd 50" plasma from my old 32" 1080p lcd, I have come to realize this is really a gorgeous game. The colours, the detail the motion always impresses me, i'm noticing allot of stuff that looked crap on my old tv and i thought it was the game but the tv can make all the difference. Can't wait for GT6 saying it will be a few years away hints at a ps4 only title :) Autumn ring is the worst looking track!!

Most people thought GT5 looked perfect from the trailers and demos but the finished product turned out to be far from perfect. It's easy for a game to have no flaws when the developers chose what you are able to see. Let Forza 4 come out before you comment on the finished product.

It's probably way to early to tell. Kaz has realized that GT5 has not lived up to what it was supposed to be, and has probably changed his focus on what GT6 should be. He knows he needs to work on GT5 before he can release a new title. There is no telling what system GT6 will be on.

Nice, good info.

So 8 months after release we still got no DLC, the updates and improvements were really tiny... I can´t see an completed GT5 in the next 2 years if they improve the game with this highspeed like they do it now...

We still got not even leaderboards or endurance save options... even if they work hard, on the surface they gave us the feeling that they are the mosty lazy and slow game developer in the world, after Duke´s team...

PD really need to employ a lot more staff. 150-ish staff isn't enough now, they need at least double that amount. GT5 isn't a terrible game, but it's very unfinished and it shows. What other game on PS3 & 360 has PS2 cars and tracks?! They should've just cut out all the 'standard' cars, there would've been less cars, but the game would've looked more consistent. The problem is that they don't have enough staff... PD, if you're reading this... hire more staff! If PD don't hire more staff and they start producing unfinished games, then the Gran Turismo brand will be severely damaged and will lose the good reputation that it built up in the PS1/PS2 days. Oh well, whenever PD are ready to actually release GT6, in 2014/15/16, then they'll have to make sure that it's finished because the Gran Turismo brand has already been devalued by the incomplete GT5 and PD need to fix the brand's reputation with GT6.

PD was rather rushed, I believe.
