Well... the Lightning's kinda cool. But what would you do with 55k NOW, other than brag about having already spent more than that on aguably tasteless cars and mods?

that all has happened in the past two years and I'm perfectly content with a nice Daily driver that I can pull my Lightning with. AFter the L is completed I plan to autocross, road race, drag races (hunting for 9s) and try to breach 200 mph at the Texas Mile...the wifes car is an amazing car and we ordered it the exact way we we wanted so I have everything I want now..if I had 55k to spend on a car now I would put it forwards a workshop with a lift so I can work on my stuff:tup:

i just thought it would be interesting for people to see since everybody is dreaming here and I've already lived it and I could't be happier!

Also, the King Ranch was bought in April (traded in 2008 F250) and bagged this summer so that's pretty recent..

So i have 40.000 euro's for a car. PT Cruiser. Maybe Cabrio.

Good luck finding a new one, considering it's been discontinued. Also, good luck finding an unmodified one that costs that much. Finally, good luck convincing people that it was (part of) 40,000 euros well spent. ;)

It's one of those cars I wouldn't own myself, but I dig the old-school styling of the PT Cruiser. Prowler, HHR, SSR... they all look cool in my book.

I'd say screw you I'm buy a bunch of cars for 55k...

First one of these

Rest of the 50k+ or so I will buy various other older American cars... Nothing better to do =)

Looking around there was this:
Dodge Viper 1996 Mileage 18025 km, $ 42,500; might go for some weight reduction on that.
BMW M5 2007 Mileage 39480 km, € 37,798
Audi S8 2007 Mileage 57029 km $ 51,000
Porsche Cayman 3.4 S, 2006 59.000 Km, 36.970 €

but felt more for a:
Superformance Cobra 1999 Mileage 15466 km Ford Motor Racing 351 Windsor V8 $ 52,000
superformance-mkiii-r-cobra_1.jpg

or a

Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG, 2005 Mileage 15170 km $ 42,950

Not clear to me how people would fit a 911 Turbo, a Ferrari, etc in this budget, just a bit tight for that from the prices I know.

$55,000.. Hm that's pretty hard, but I am going to have to say a great, old classic (not too old), BMW M3, E46.

a 2011 Prius with a 2JZ-GTE engine swap, and a Baldor M2550T electric motor swap.

300 hp I6 + 100 hp 3-phase electric motor = 400 hp Prius.

--EDIT--

total price for this... lets see here...

$25K for the Prius, about $2.7K for the 2JZ-GTE, $6.2K for the electric motor, and possibly $8K to roll it all together...

comes out to 41,900. gives me 13,100 to use for something else.

For swaps, you want the old Insight, not a Prius. The Insight is ultra-light, so it's a great platform for Frankenswaps.

ITs a hard choice but I wold do one of these either buy new A subaru STi hatch ( 2011) mildly modify it buy a mustang boss 302 (2012) and keep the change or by either a 300zx or a 04 zo6 and restore it and modify it. for track days and cruising on saturdays

I'd get a Sierra cosworth 3 door in white... and use the rest getting it absolutely immaculate and original... and do more to the engine. mmmmmmmmmmmm :sly:

I could buy a Shelby GT500 and save the rest for impending speeding tickets, fuel, and rear tires. Then again, I own a 370Z, I could just put some go faster bits on it.

Why of course the 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca.👍 Theres even money left over for track days. Wooohoooo.:dopey:

What else do i have in Holland, a Renault Wind, some cheaper BMW's and Audi's, maybe a Golf GTI or Megane R but thats it.
