I saw two Lotus Elises in the span of 3 days – isn't that cool? (I passed one of them though – he was going under the speed limit for some reason.)
I've saw four in one day once. Seven in one day while at Goodwood.

I'll top that.
I've test driven the DB9 :)
Really. :scared:

I've never seen a DB9 on the road yet but I've seen two Vanquishes. They're even rarer.

And just where the hell do you see these things? Cherry Creek?
Every single picture taken so far has been in Cherry Creek, yes, except the SUV pictures from a thread or two ago which was on Quincy and Colorado in Arapahoe County.

Yeah, but I live in the States. ;) I'd expect Lotii to be more common in England. (Especially since the Elise just started coming over recently.)

You see Elises everyday in Manchester, you do tend to see a few of them in pretty much every area in England.

Are they really? I've seen only one or two DB9s, but I see at least one every time on the BH side of the hill, and usually at least one other every two weeks or so.

One thing I'm seeing everywhere are Bentley Continental GTs. Those are really all over the place here in LA.

I was on the waiting list for an Elise a few months back at a dealership, and they had a promotional thing for the DB9 here in the US. They received a demo car and basically let everyone in their database come in and test drive the car.
The car is jawdroppingly sexy. The door handles were quite tricky to figure out! They're flush against the body work... so I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get the damned doors opened. Hahaha!
Then the salesman finally came over and showed me how to open the door.
Inside the car it's quite different. The bonnet just goes on and on and on. It's soooooooooo massive.

Elises are more common in rich, pocket areas of the US. Here in California there's a large pool around the southern (LA, SD) area. San Francisco and the neighboring cities have their fair share of the cars as well. I live out in the sticks here in California... and so far I have yet to see an Elise while driving mine.

How do you open the door? Do you just press the door handles in? (I've seen pictures of the door handles, but never myself figured out how they're supposed to open.)

Yeah. Push them in (towards the front end side), the handle flips out, then you grab and pull. Viola! Door is opened.

Same here. Someone who lives about 2 minutes from my house owns one, and I see it all the time on the road and parked infront of his driveway. I've seen quite a few other Contis too.

Great cars, i saw one in a motor show, I also saw a DB7 Volante(sp?) down near the beach

Same here (Denver). I found out why yesterday - list is only $160,000. For probably $10000 down you can have access to one of the most prestigious names in automotive history. It's fun to see them, but these days I get the same rise out of seeing a GMC Sierra Denali (especially when it turns!) as a Continental GT.

Over here in Cincinnati there are a few Aston Martins. I keep seeing a DB7 running around my house...owner must have finally ungaraged it. It's pretty damn fast. My friend's Evo MR had a great battle with it! I also know a guy who has an '05 Elise in maroon with two yellow racing stripes down the center. The thing is turboed and is putting out about 230HP. I've never been in such a fast little car except for sitting in an Ariel Atom and a Radical SR3 when I was in Washington DC at a pro karting place. OMG I love featherweight cars!!!!

Seen 4 of those (DB9s) already, and nearly crashed into one of them. Couple of DB7s around where I live. I saw my first DB9 in March, when I followed it home from work. Vanquishs are rare though - I haven't seen any on the road yet. Saw 2 F355s today as well.

At the 24 Hours of Daytona a red Ferrari Enzo drove past us, quickly followed by aa yellow Lamborghini Gallardo in the infield parking lot.

At the Indianapolis 500 this weeked I saw 1 Lotus Elise, 3 Lamborghini Gallardos, 1 Lamborghini Murcielago, and a Ford GT.

Not it was so terribly rare, but WHERE I saw it was the rare thing. I saw a red F360 driving through Yellowstone park on Sunday. I also saw a Pantera GT-5 2 weeks ago in Salt Lake--only the second one I've ever seen--the other was somewhere between LA and San Diego. But you almost NEVER see anything up here in my neck of the woods, especially new. However, I DO have a friend who lives up the street who owns a candy company, and he has:

A Viper
A Delorean
Several old vettes, including a 53 and a 69. He had an 84 vette that was actually owned by one of the beach boys, but he sold it to buy the viper.
A testarossa
A prowler

They are all red, except the Delorean. And a few of the vettes are black. They get them out every few weeks to wash them all. Definitely not your average sight in Idaho!

I saw a Hummer H2 today, don't see them very often here. I saw a Cadillac CTS for the first time on the road as well. I bet they're pretty vommon to people in the US.

Why is this turnng into a "What did you see good today?" thread?

You're absolutely right.

M5, maybe you should post your pics in the "Did you see anything good, today?" thread?
:sly:

I think, here, it's also because they've become the "in" thing for the Rap/Hip-Hop crowd. They're affordable enough for even a marginally successful musician, and have a look that's very "pimpable".

Perhaps, though every one I've seen has in fact been driven by an aging white guy (and I've seen upwards of ten) and I haven't seen anything but stock wheels on them yet. For some reason I check out drivers of exotic cars as if I'm going to know who they are.

Wow, I'm surprised. My aunt was considering one (MAJOR Hollywood movie producer), but was against it because it's got too much of a rap / hip-hop connotation here for a middle aged Jewish woman to be driving!

But it's also good because, while she could afford it, she'd probably crash it, she's one of the worst drivers in history. (Beaten out by my mom's Yukari-esque (for Azumanga fans) driving "skills")
