What was the very first GT game you played?

The first game was Gran Turismo. I think it was a Christmas gift or something like that. I have no idea what the first car was though.

First car in GT6: Peugeot 106 Rallye. I never drove the Honda Fit, I just used it for money laundry.

Edit: Actually, I think I played Gran Turismo on a demo disc before I got the full game. There was this PlayStation magazine that had a demo disc containing about a dozen or so demos from different games. On one of those discs there was Gran Turismo.

GT1: Supra RZ from my brother's save ^^
GT2: Used SUPRA TWIN TURBO '90.

Ah, I still remember when I was 4 years old and my dad took me to a game store called "Funcoland" and he bought us the first Sony Playstation with the "Greatest Hits" version of GT1. I had fun with that game, but it wasn't until I got GT2 as a christmas gift that I got officially hooked to the series. Funny thing though, I remember playing arcade mode on both games for the first few months before realizing that there was "Simulation Mode".

Anyway, the first cars I actually bought in each game:
Gran Turismo 1 - Honda Civic 3-Door Si '93
Gran Turismo 2 - Toyota Celica GT-R '91
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec - Mazda MX-5 Miata '89
Gran Turismo 4 - Mazda RX-7 GTX '90
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue - Ford Focus ST '06
Gran Turismo 5 - I don't remember, it might have been the '04 Civic Type R or something else.
Gran Turismo 6 - After the Honda Fit RS, I think I bought a Boss 302 Mustang. Well, it was easy for me to save up for one since I have the Anniversary Edition. So, I had some extra cars lying around in my garage to help me.

I played GT2 at a friends place. And I don't think he bought GT3. I was more into the NFS series at the time, and thought the the licenses was just keeping me from racing.
When GT4 launched we both got a copy.
It was pure bliss :)

My first car in GT4 was the Alfa GTV. The reason was that this was as close I could get to Alfa Spider which was a car I wanted to buy at that time.
In GT5 bought a Skyline R32. Lesson learned in GT4 as I needed to restart the game due to funding ran out. For a novice a Skyline was excellent.
In GT6 I bought the RX7 Spirit, if I'm not mistaken.
 
My first one was GT2, remember buying an used Supra Twin Turbo '90 and taking her to the Tahiti Road. As soon as I won my first race and bought some tuning parts and repeated the race, I was hooked.

I still have to have a white Supra Twin Turbo '90 in every single GT-game.
 
The first GT I've ever played was the 1st one when I was 2 years old, and my first car on it was a Mazda RX-7 GTX...

Didn't GTPSP start you off with a Fit as well? I could be wrong. I don't remember what my first car was in that game, though it might have been an Evo VIII (I might just be tripping)

Gran Turismo 2 was the VERY first game I've ever played. If I remember, I believe my dad and his friend had completed some of the game and used a Skyline R33.
Gran Turismo 3 was my second game: Used a car off of arcade, can't recall. But officially buying it: The Toyota AE86 Trueno.
Gran Turismo 4 - I believe I used the Pontiac Sunfire. Third game I've ever played.
Gran Turismo PSP - Can't remember what car I got. Got this game for Christmas in a PSP bundle! :D
Gran Turismo 5 - I played this not long after 2011. Also, first car was a Mitsubishi FTO, which worked out pretty well for a while!
Gran Turismo 6 - First car was a Honda Fit. Can't really remember what else I got after, but it is the most recent game I've played.

GTpsp let's you pick, if I remember right. I chose a crappy little Alfa Romeo :lol:.

It said first car, I'm pretty certain you can't buy any Alfa at the start (Never mind a GTV) of GT4, and if you mean a GT-R, then impossible for GT5, unless it was GTST, and GT6 is possible of you saved alot

Yeah, I used it to smash the Sunday Cup, then buy a Camaro and rampage on for a few more days until I got my IA license. Everything else was a hazy memory, sadly. :lol: Then I got my first F1 car on a sunday morning a long while after.

My first Gran Turismo was GT4 (I heard about gt3 aspec just never played it )..and I hated it to bits. I grew up on need for speed games so when 10 year old me finally played GT4 my initial reaction was like *you have to brake before corners* :yuck: and I never played it again. Fast forward to 2007 when prologue was announced again my reaction was *not this crap again* ...never played it. Fast forward to 2010 around the time GT5 was launching I saw so much hype for the game it blew my mind, never have I seen so many people loving a game I hated. So I actually gave it a shot...and it blew my 🤬 mind. I never (and I mean never) stopped playing the game. Every morning I would wake up around 4am just to put at least 2hours into the game before I had to get ready for school then after school I would get home as fast as I can just to play it. Homework ?? lol I did my homework while keeping track of my driver in bspec. Friends ?? you mean business partners in trading rare standard cars :sly:. GT5 was my life..until GT6 came out.
 
That sounds like me, just longer ago. When GT1 and 2 was the thing on PS1, I couldn't get into it and basically only played need for speed 2 and 3. I didn't start playing GT until i got a PS2 and my younger brother bought GT3 to play on it.
 
I remember it like it was yesterday, my cousin played the license test with the black Mazda RX-7, then he gave me to play. First car was the JZAZ Supra, best starter car.

My first GT was Gran Turismo 4 in 2007. It's difficult to remember because I was very young (almost 8-9 years old). For me GT4 was something very special for my childhood. I'm almost 17 right now and the most of my memories go to GT4 when I'm trying to remember something from the past. It was pure magnificent :bowdown:. I was playing GT4 until I got the PS3 with Gran Turismo 5 in summer 2011. When I started playing GT5 I didn't know how to play online because.... you know, I didn't know there is network in PlayStation :dunce: :D. The very first days I was like "🤬 yeah! This game rocks!" It was difficult to unlock the cars in the dealerships because I was a terrible driver. But all changed when I bought that Ferrari F2007.... That machine helped me improve my skills. I tried to drive fast with manual transmission, TC to OFF, no driving line etc etc. I didn't realize how much I have been improved as a driver, until I finished 23rd overall at the Time Trial seasonal with the Ferrari F10 on the wet Spa-Franchorchamps.... When I started online I was struggling to finish even in the Top 5000 :p. Overall, Gran Turismo changed a lot of things in my character. It was (and it is) a great experience.

My first ever GT I ever played?
Well since I was born in late 90's (not telling exactly what year I was born), I remember some my family which they're my brothers, sister and my uncles (they were at their 20 at that time) were actually playing Gran Turismo 1 and they have completed most of the game with just few races left, they owned a tons of cars and it was one of my first playstation game I ever played, at that time I was like 2 - 3 years old and playstation 2 had just released on the market but we didn't get a playstation 2 until 2002 and my first ps2 games I got was Crash bandicoot the warth of cortex, some football game, a wwe game, GTA vice city and GT 3 and concept. I immediately loved GT and started playing it until now I still do.

Shortly it was mostly GT1 and little bit of GT2.

I don't really remember my first car on GT 1 to GT3 but I remember what is it on 4 to 6:

GT4: I actually went on doing Licence test first so i could race on any event I want and get free cars too.
GT5: Honda Civic Type R '97 I think
GT6: I'm forced by those Japanese to buy Honda jazz or fit :lol: but I didn't buy a new car until I passed "novice" races and couple "A" races Where I bought toyota Gt86 racing.

GT2: In 2000(?)

GT3: 2001, it came in as promo material.

GT4: Christmas 2006. Broke, got another copy Christmas 2007 :lol:

GT5: Birthday 2012.

GT6: New Year's 2013 👍
