I think British cars have a very unique presence, and I love them!

My favorites are:

-Jaguar XKR.
Probably one of the sexiest cars in the whole game. With the chase cam, the exhaust note is one of the best.

-Caterham Fireblade.
The idea of a Lotus Seven with a racing mortorcylce engine on it is pure win.

-Aston Martin DB9.
One of the few pure sportscars in the game. Nothing like a front mounted naturally aspirated V12, rear wheel drive and a fully manual transmission.

-Lotus Esprit.
My favorite. Still keeping its basic proportions since the 80´s, but one of the most beautiful cars ever made. So beautiful that I didn´t even changed the wheels on it. And that flat-plane V8 on cockpit view is a pleasure to listen to. This car has the loudest turbo whistle I´ve heard so far in GT5.

-TVR Tuscan.
Another pure car. Its uglyness is its beauty. Wierd car, but so adictive. If you are going to enjoy it like a true TVR, remember to turn the ABS off. That car is pure rebelion, I mean, look at the instrument panel! A huge analog speedometer with a digital tachometer? Shouldn´t it be the other way around?

So which are your favorites, and why? Feel free to share your thoughts. No limits on how many British cars from the Gran Turismo series you like :D

Lotus Evora: Finally a big motor in a Lotus! And the looks! And the sound! And the handling! I want one of these in my life!

Lotus Elises: Tiny car, even smaller motor, yet it runs with the big boys and occasionally even beats them. I love it.

The Evora, yes! I never expected that car to be that fast. It´s hard for me to admit, but it is faster than the Esprit. What I love about it is the fact that it drives good, but at the same time, if you´re not focused, it can give you nasty surprises.

And the Elise, well, nothing more scary than driving it with comfort tires on short technical courses.

Caterham 7 Fireblade - only when modified. PD screwed up its stock form horribly.
Lotus Elise - No questions asked. Very cute as well.
Lotus Elise 111R - Absolutely.
Lotus Motorsport Elise - Buzzy as hell but still a superb drive.
McLaren F1 Stealth Model - the closest to the non longtail F1 GT-R.
TVR Tuscan - Again no doubt about this one.

It's a tie between the XJ220 Road Car and the TVR Tuscan Speed 6. I also would say the AC 427 if you could take the top off.

McLaren F1 (which is as british as Veyron is french).
Onto the proper british cars:
TVR Tuscan Speed Six, Lotus Evora, Elise, Caterham Fireblade.

I like the Ford Focus WRC '08 (Made by M-Sport, British) but of the British cars according to GT5 I like the Triumph Spitfire and the Jaguar XKR.

McLaren F1 - Obviously.
Jaguar XKR - I personally think it's better looking than the DB9 and the DB9 is gorgeous as it is.
Lotus Carlton - Still one of the best sleepers around.

It's a fact that the Veyron is not french, it was made by VW.

But where did come with the idea that the McLaren F1 is not british? Just because it was designed by a south african engineer and it has a german engine? McLaren is not owned by any other company. Off course the McLaren F1 is british.

On topic, my favorite British cars are:

McLaren F1: as powerful as Le Mans racing cars, as comfortable as saloons, as heavy as a Civic. Enough said.
Lotus Evora: handles like a dream.

The Fireblade, and both RM'ed Elises. It's a shame that the British are almost the only ones to build small, fun sports cars.

my fav since i saw it in GT1.

TVR GRIFFITH 500

Ah yes, the Griffith! I remember that we had various engine options in GT2, other than the 5.0 V8.

The Cerbera is a dream as well. Too bad we dont have the TVR made 4.5 Flat-plane V8 version that we had in GT2.

-Lotus Esprit.

And that flat-plane V8 on cockpit view is a pleasure to listen to. This car has the loudest turbo whistle I´ve heard so far in GT5.

I have every single Esprit in the game at this point. I actually have two or three of the Premium one. The Esprit was the second car I bought in the game and I still use it frequently. One of my Esprits is bone-stock for fun driving. The other is fully tuned, man what a sound. A fully tuned Esprit (minus the annoying race transmission whine) is a truly awesome sound.

I'm very dissapointed that there are no race-modded Esprits in the game. I miss the Esprit GT1 that was back in GT2.

I love Lotuses in general, I have all of them. But the Esprit will always be my favorite. I've loved that car since I saw it in 007 The Spy Who Loved Me and got to drive it in (the absolutely terrible) 007 Racing on PS1.

I also love the TVR Cerbera Speed 12. It's such a beast and for some reason, is still one of those sort of "underground" cars that people don't expect to win. Regardless, I've thrown down against LMPs and such and come out victorious. Burning soft racing slicks through 3rd gear is a blast.

I am liking a stock xj220 on sports softs at the moment.

Yup, I'm with you on that one! (Have you noticed how on replays though, the top of crash helmet actually protrudes through the glass roof!?!?!?)

Im also a fan of the McLaren F1, XJ13, XKR.....

Lotus Carlton, Premium Lotus Esprit V8, Lotus Motorsport Elise, Jaguar XFR and TVR Cerbera Speed 6. 👍

Brilliant cars, all of them.

The Espirit 350 is also a seriously enjoyable car to drive.

All of them?

I'm a british car nut. Can't get enough.

Favorite in GT5 is the TVR V8S.

TVR V8S
Mmmmm..

:D

Oh and I forgot about the tail-happy XJ220. One of the most beautiful cars ever made. A car poster on every kid's wall.

99 Vantage V8. I don't care if it feels like I'm driving a 72 Cadillac Eldorado. What a beautiful car that is.

(BTW, if anyone has a setup for this that would make it handle less like a boat and closer to a NASCAR or something, I'd appreciate it)
