McLaren F1 (which is as british as Veyron is french).
Onto the proper british cars:
TVR Tuscan Speed Six, Lotus Evora, Elise, Caterham Fireblade.

McLaren is exclusively a chassis manufacturer, like Courage and Lola. Lola is a british company that had a major part in the production of the ford gt40... So, the McLaren f1 is just as British as the gt40 is American.

TVR Griffith 500 by far. In Blue Pearlescent, it looks amazing and the exhaust noise is just...GODLY!!

All of them?

I'm a british car nut. Can't get enough.

Favorite in GT5 is the TVR V8S.

:D

Oh and I forgot about the tail-happy XJ220. One of the most beautiful cars ever made. A car poster on every kid's wall.

Until last week I had a XJ220 poster. I had to put it down because it was erroted as hell. Still havn´t tried the car in GT5. It was one of my favorites since it appeared in GT2.

I wished it was premium, simply because I´ve always wondered how the heck do the XJ220´s light pop up. So far there is only reference of how they look opened, and they look like if they were fixed lights, just like in the LM version.

E-type jag. Superb suspension modeling, pitches and rolls like an old car should. Needs the lsd, though, spins its inside rear wheel very easily.

Elise mk1 is awesome. Totally standard.

Mclaren f1 (which is British bar the engine), is far too stiffly sprung compared with the real life road car. Search for the original Top Gear review by Tiff Needell if you want to see what I mean It's a real let down and I don't know why they cocked it up so badly. Seems a bit pointless that it's there. My theory is that they used F1LM or race car suspension data.

I like the majority of British cars in the game mentioned here, but for me it's the E-Type Jag. Quite simply because it is the most beautiful car ever produced, in my opinion 👍

Yeah, I know what you mean. I love having the McLaren F1 in the game, but the mechanical data of the car is so wrong. I tried to take it closer to reality by changing engine, transmission and suspension, but I can only go as far as the game lets me. I wish they didn't restrict so much the springs stiffness and the gear ratios.

All of the above, but if I had to pick one favourite it would have to be Moaning Myrtle - my Mini Marcos. Fantastic fun. The game must know I love it too, as it gave me a second one on my birthday!

The Fireblade, and both RM'ed Elises. It's a shame that the British are almost the only ones to build small, fun sports cars.

You need to check out the The Ariel Atom 500 V8 and the V8 Caterham RS Levante cars (if you haven't already) both of which would be superb additions to the game, both weigh little more than a thimble and both have astonishing power (around 1000bhp per tonne, nearly double that of a Veyron). The Atom in particular would look good in premium with it's bare body exposing where the driver sits and you can see the shocks among other things

👍👍:):)

I love the db6,vanquish,db9 jaguar e type, the xj220 and last but not least the lotus esprit:sly:

I'd say the McLaren F1, definitely. My friend told me about it before the GT series, and it's been my favorite supercar since. I have to say I was pretty excited to see the '97 McLaren F1 GTR Race Car make its first appearance in GT4.

The more I think about it the more lovely Brit machines come to mind.

This is my dream car ever since I saw it years ago in GT. It may not be the best braking or handling car in the game but it's a dream to me.

The Catterham levante is 500kg and 550hp

Loved that car in GT4, but it was difficult to enjoy since either it was too fast for the competition, or too slow. Normally they would only let it race in events with Group C´s and LM Prototypes, and the McLaren could hardly keep up with them.

So now that we got it in street trim in GT5, thankfully there is more that you can do with it. Plus, the McLaren´s cockpit view has no match whatsoever. Probably the best sitting possition in any car.

btw, I thumbs up for your avatar. One of my favorite pics from certain artist(s) whose name starts with a "B" ;D

Tower Turn 13
I tried to find a better video but check around 5:35 or a little before

It's so quick it's hard to tell but it seems the headlight covers go up or down mechanically within the bodywork. Which would be a pain in the a** if the motors broke...

You´ve just cleared out decades of doubts. I can die in peace now. Thank you a lot!! It´s kind of how I though it would work, but somehow the other way around :P

Over at RKM I tuned a lovely car called the MP4 LM, and it made me fall in love with the MP4-12C. I now have three of them :dopey: there is just something about the car that ticks the right boxes...

I just love it!

99 Vantage V8. I don't care if it feels like I'm driving a 72 Cadillac Eldorado. What a beautiful car that is.

(BTW, if anyone has a setup for this that would make it handle less like a boat and closer to a NASCAR or something, I'd appreciate it)

Been looking for this car in the OCD. Found it at last. Unfortunately like in any other GT titles, it is impossible to make it better. I copied the suspension tuning of the Lister Storm, since it´s a similar car, and put a LSD on it but it still feels much like the Tank Car. But what a car!

Two favourites:

1. Lotus Esprit (the premium one). Fell in love with it when I used in one of the seasonals at Nordschleife (British lightweights?). It's great fun to drive, especially in cockpit view :) And most of all, when you floor it you can really feel the car accelerating!

2. McLaren MP4-12C. Great looks, definitely one of the best looking cars in the game, but the main reason for being a favourite, however, is the small display to the left of the steering wheel that shows in game clock (so you see what the time is at the current track!), odometer (that accumulate every single meter you drive, regardless if it's free run, online or offline... so you see the true mileage you have driven!) and trip odometer! It's just brilliant.

My TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM. I love drifting this car.

Wow, that race mod looks hot! I need to get it :)

The Jaguar E-Type. breaks away very controllably and fun. The mini cooper 1.3 is realy fun too. Pretty much any classic british car in the game is really fun!

The matte black paint just makes it look so sleek. My gf's is matte pink.

Mclaren F1
Caterham Fireblade.
Lotus 87 Espirit

Not aware that I drive any other british cars often enough to mention. MP4-12c perhaps, but I'm not a big fan of it.

THIS:tup: I´ve noticed that also! For some reason, the Esprit gives you a feeling of acceleration like no other car. I don´t know what it is. Could be some sort of placebo effect due to the gear ratios, the possition of the cockpit view added to the sound of the car... Not even the GTR R35 feels like this, and I´m pretty sure it accelerates faster.

Another reason why I love the Esprit.

Here are my top British machines:

TVR Cerbera Speed 12:

This car is a great car to drive around, and when you push down on the throttle, the beast will push you back and you have to hold on for dear life! Love the rush. :D

XJ220:

A favorite before I even played GT, a twin turbo V6, mid-engine, and a stealthy looking body design of the 90's is beauitful.

McLaren F1:

Best. Car. Ever. A legend and a visionary of Bruce McLaren of the utlimate road car with racing technology in one. Unique cockpit, challenging to drive bone stock and a masterpiece.

My GT5 faves are

Triumph Spitfire (I am a bit of a Triumph fan - real shame there's no lovely straight-six in the game)

TVR Tuscan Speed 6 (mine is the the colour-shift orange and looks really good in the game).

Proper Mini.

My Nasty Jag XKR project has somewhat grown on me too.

Haven't got one in GT5 yet, but in GT4 I had an 80's Esprit that I used for everything I could - it used to shred tyres really badly.
