My pet peeve: TCS
Dammit, you put it on 0 and you smoke the tires, you put it on 5 you smoke the tires, you put it on 10 your revs drop, you put it to the max and your revs still drop. Why cant you put it on 7 and it be prefect?!?

and your revs drop because the TCS system takes off power so the wheels stop spinning. no matter what TCS setting you use, when you feed too much power to the wheels and they start to spin, TCS kicks in and backs off the throttle.

It's fast...in a straight line. But requires a great deal of tuning to drive like a car.
Then it requires more tuning to make it drive like the sports car it is supposed to be.
It's like ice skating on dull skates, on freshly re-surfaced ice.

Because you don't learn how to master the car's handling. Even though the Zonda handles like ****, get used to it, I even like racing with a Zonda because I'm a professional at handling hard-to-steer cars.

Why bother when there are so many cars that are easier to deal with?
I'm a very good driver.
I'm also too impatient to deal with a car on a regular basis that handles with all the finesse of a well thrown brick.
I'm glad you have the time to futz with "the brick". I fix the durn thing so that it handles the two races it needs to. Then it becomes an automotive paperweight in my garage.
The Zonda Race Car handles fine. Why does the C12S have to be such a cruddy handler?
You may love to drive hard to steer cars. More power to you. I'm looking for faster laps. I'll drive what is fast for me.
But do not assume I'm incompetent because I don't like the car.
When you assume...

Zondas are awesome drift cars, hopefully I can get a vid up.

I DO use the Stick.
As I have said, it just ain't one of my "fun to drive" cars.

eh?

I have found that when using my modded citroen in rallies it doesnt get any grip till 4th gear.... till then those front tires just send up plumes of smoke!!!! :(

yeah I know... its hard to go easy on the throtle when you are trying to get a good start off the line :/

I used to hate the Zonda due to the insane understeer, but now that I've tuned it I am very pleasantly surprised. In fact, it is now one of my favorite *drift* cars! Didn't take much... for the gist of the settings see the "Most Satisfying Victory" post. Really, the car doesn't understeer one bit using those settings, but it is a bit loose (the more you up the LSD effect, the looser it gets). I consider it a wonderful drive and one of the most overlooked and undervalued cars out there.

For the record, I did not say "THE BEST" car out there. Just overlooked and undervalued.

I don't like the fact that you may have to race 100 to 150 laps of racing to have a 1 in 4 chance of winning a particular car you have a fancy on. I've not yet scored the Calibra LM although I've had 3 attempts - it was my all-time fav in GT2.

The artifical intelligence of the other race cars is sometimes pedantic. The AI is World TOCA for example is more realistic, for example you can get shunted and find yourself spinning across a field in a flash if you're not careful. There's an element of aggression.

One thing that I would change, and it wouldnt even be that hard for them to do.

One of, or all three:

Decals, pin stripes, RACE NUMBERS, carbon fibre hoods, just various ways to make your car unique.

spoilers and body kits that you can buy in the tune shop, maybe not different ones for each car, but a bunch of genberic ones that could be put on the back of the car, like lets say 15 for notch backs, 15 for hatch backs, 15 for coupes etc etc. a

also, maybe some type of body kit selection and/or hood scoops and side vents etc.

also have it that when you buy a new exhaust, your tail pipe looks different from behind the car.

I would also like to see a dyno graph/chart for each car, stock and modified, so you could see what kind of power you had at what rpm and you could set gears for you power band.

Yeah I hate it when I race against a car with the same color scheme and # I mean come on they could have at least fixed that detail for GT1.

yah, maybe TXR is boring, but GT3 sure as hell isn't, and those changes could only make it less boring.

bout this
GT4Drifters Edition

Partner up with the makers of Initial D and get something goin there ykno PD??

and i agree w/ 12.seccivic
they should make the cars more.. customable.....
its just not fun 2 race the italian avant garde with the same cars surrounding you *cept 4 ur own*

and..
BRING BACK THE RACING MODS IN GT2 and GT1!
those were SOOO fun

The Italians make some very cool cars. Where were they for the Italian cup?
Maserati
Ferrari
Bizzarini
Just to name a few.

The smoke and traction loss sound effects blow. When I do a burn out it sounds and looks like some atari video game. Just take the smoke straight out of GTA:Vice City and find some realistic sounding tire spinning/sliding effects.

I would also like some more engine sound variety. Sure, each car has a different sound in stock form, but after every car has a racing exhaust and intake there are only about 6-7 different engine sounds. Why does my XKR, Cobra R, CL600 and Nissan Skyline sound the exact same under the hood?

lol they sound different to me....
i think the racing exhaust and intake just put the same amount of bass and stuff like that to the engine sounds.

You forgot Ducati. I don't care if GT3 is a car game. There's no reason to leave out this

Of course there's reason to leave that out...Physics for example. What happens if you hit a wall or another car? Explain that to me...
