That was a pretty fun race for me. There were 2 of us that came from way back and pushed and pushed the outside to try and catch you 2 up front. I had a heck of a run coming up on you guys but just couldn't find a spot to try and sneak in there at the end.
Congrats on the win you 2 worked together alot better then the rest of the field. No one else would bump draft with me until I finally found a partner with about 5 or so laps left.

I'm really liking the truck series. Most of the people seem pretty calm compared to the other oval races I've done. I think I've only heard guys cry a few times.

^ A Lotus Chevy Silverado? Interesting..

I've also got a Lotus Impala B, a Lotus Solstice, and a Lotus Specracer Renault :)

But, as I work for LotusF1 it just seemed right to run the team colours.

Hehe, small world :)

I was 3rd at the last restart, and tried to push the guy leading, but he was all over the shop, so when the outside lane got a run on us, I jumped. We ran really well together, and it wasn't until the penultimate lap that Justin started messing around to try and himself up, that anyone started to catch us.

The truck drivers seem a pretty good bunch, I have heard some whining at other tracks, but most of them seem pretty grown-up, which is nice.

Sounds like I need to race in some of these other oval series'. Street stock is like demolition derby sometimes.

I did my first ever race today. It was street stocks at charlotte. Some idiot decided to go straight when there was a turn and wrecked me. I came back to do alright though, i finished 9th. Iracing is fun as hell.

Raced the Carburetor Cup most of the day yesterday.
Daytona is pretty easy to drive, but staying out of trouble is another thing.
Finally got into a split with some good drivers, and we raced hard the whole time. With 10 to go, while in 6th, the big one happened, I went low and got past
it and lead 7 laps solo. The pack caught and passed me. We raced the final 3 and I ended up 2nd. Good fun :)

Had a few interesting ones lately..

Grand Touring Cup at Charlotte Road

2500 SOF, I qualified 2nd in the Solstice class and caught up to the pole sitter off the start. Battled the entire race and made the pass with 5 laps to go and stayed there. They stuck in behind me for the rest of the race and it was a fantastic race until a stupid lapped MX-5 took her out.. I picked up 125 champ points, 75 iRating and 0.65 SR.

Prototype/GT at VIR

I started 6th of 8 in the Ford GT class and worked my way up to 4th and was under intense pressure from 5th and 6th. We had a great race going when on the final lap in the first corner, I go just a bit wide and attempt to acclerate and spin out.. :grumpy:

Carb Cup at Daytona

These are fun if people can run them right.. but people don't. I've been taken out in the first 5 laps in the 3 races I've done.. I went from 18th to 2nd in one lap and waited for 3rd place to catch up so we could catch the leader, it worked for 2 laps until I just got the apron and he drove into me.. :nervous:

Atlanta has my number this week in Trucks. I've won one race, but rest got caught up in a wreck when someone gets loose out of 2 usually.

My last race was good til lap 25, I was sitting in 4th after working from back of the field when we caught a lap down truck who was on the bottom of the track coming out of 2, the front 3 go by and I noticed his truck was crabbing bad, next thing I know, he turns up into me which kills my engine.

Took my first win in an A class fixed oval race just now! And to boot, at Bristol:dopey:

Started 2nd and stayed there till 1st caution at lap 23. 1st place and I don't pit, which was wrong move. Fell back to 7th after getting trained by cars with new tires. Next 2 cautions I pit and work my way back up to 3rd when caution flew again at lap 73. 12 to go. Everyone from me(3rd place) back pit while two front runners stay out. Come out in 3rd and got a good restart. Let it settle for a few laps and pass 1st and 2nd both in turns 1/2 at lap 79. And thats all she wrote. Cruised to my first victory from there. 👍

Love this new gen6 car. Fits my style better than COT.

Lack of official races means I can't pick and choose my races for the participation credits, I have to do every one available. So, with but 15 laps of practice lifetime, I jumped in the B car for some short track action at Bristol.

I did my 15 laps practice, took one huge whack at camber, and hopped in the race. We did our pace laps as I envisioned losing an entire point or more of SR in what would probably be less than half a race after I wrecked out for good. We all bid each other some wonderful destruction, and the green dropped.

10 laps in, and we seperated and settled into our grooves. 20 laps in and people were already declaring boredom due to lack of action. 40 laps in and I kind of looked forward to a caution as I was getting kind of dizzy. 80 laps in and my shoulder started to ache. People were telling jokes and engaging in random conversation as we all just held our lines and ran our race. 100 laps in and my shoulder was on fire. 115 laps in and I had to drive one handed. 130 laps in and still, not one thing had happened. At lap 141, as I entered turn 2, my graphic card went AWOL, freezing my screen as I heard my car somewhere in the background start to decelerate, skid, then thud into something solid. I regained visual about the time I flipped over the pit wall, and I was able to enjoy another 3 or 4 tumbles before coming to rest in a pile of smoke. Still, no yellow waved. I got it to the pits, but with 5min required and 16min optional with only 20 to go, my race was done.

I would've finished 5th with no Inc if that hadn't happened, but as it was, we ran a caution free race in the B car at Bristol. Who'd a thunk it?

Ive had three bad races at indy in the trucks. got wrecked in all of them! im so mad I feel like selling all my stuff on ebay!🤬🤬🤬

Im trying to get my irating up so i can race with you in the same split but everytime i try to get my irating up i get taken out by idiots!! Maybe i need a little break! I might get protested against due to my message to the last guy who punted me into the pits as i was slowing to 55 he was going 80 at the cone. It wasn't pretty:(

p.s. I was mad, i'm not selling, lol:)

Well my race at Indy in the Trucks was just as bad. Caution came out 13 laps in and the pace car didn't move, therefor everybody got a black flag. I was running in 2nd aswell. :(

After being busy and being sick alot. I don't spend to much time into practise. There for, i am sometimes seconds off pace and sometimes i am decent. Today's race at Indy in the Mclaren i had a very decent pace. I missed some tracktime to really boost towards the front. So i tried to be a bit consistent. However after a few gained places i got dive bombed in the first turn. Lucky i held the car on the black stuff. Damage was light. I did drop back to 16th place or something. And i got myself into traffic were i sometimes recieved some small contacts in a try to avoid some wrecks. After a while i found my self racing at place 11. i got some cars on my back but i could hold them behind. I could end a bit higher if there wasn't such divebomber in the race but hey.

Since i am a total noob at oval racing, i am going to drop that next season.
In the Meclaren i don't intend to spend much time into it this season.
But next season i will going to drive just ONE car and practise for real. This is the only way to improve my racing skills.

I jumped in the Indy race @ Iowa last night with absolutely zero practice.
Started 18th out of a field of 20. Took my time getting up to speed, and hung around the back out the track . First crash took out 5 of the guys in lead pack.
Once we restarted, I felt better, but still hung around the back.
With 20 to go, third and final caution came out. Restart, I was able to match laps with the pack, but lapped traffic nearly caused a big crash so I lifted, and could not catch up, finished 6th very happy with that.
Looks like I'm becoming a better oval than road racer as I've been doing well in the Carburetor Cup and was able to finish a truck race with crashing. :)

I find oval has a lot more clean racing as well. It has its fair share of crashes but it seems much cleaner.

My last race was Iowa for the late models. I was doing really well in 5th but the guy behind me was being really aggressive. He would dive bomb me in 1&3 but i could always get him on the corner exits. We go about that for about 5 laps until one time he went too far, and understeered into me. I have to admit i was really pissed off, but looking back it was just hard racing. I probably should have just let him by. Oh well i'm at D 3.75 so hopefully a couple races tonight will put me above 4.0 so I can start racing the trucks. Will i be automatically moved up to C or will i have to wait till the end of the season?

If you have met your MPR you will automatically get promoted.

VINCE__
If you have met your MPR you will automatically get promoted.

I don't think that's right Vince... seems like you have to wait till promotion day to get bumped up...27th of every month I think...

Nope, if you have completed 4 race or 4 time trials and your MPR says it is complete then if you get your safety rating up and over 4.00 you get an immediate promotion. :)

Sweet...so MPR met and 4.0 safety rating = promotion? Awesome... too bad 4.0 safety rating is almost impossible in rookies oval pinball...

What if you've met the requirements for c class license upgrade before you get safety rating to 4? Will it automatically bump you from Rookie to C? Or do you have to progress 1 at a time?

One at a time.

Thanks LJ. You got my back don't ya buddy. Lol

Well I can say that is completely true. I am now C 3.5 :) and between the truck racing and the NASCAR series races I'm going to do tomorrow, I might even get up to B class.

Not at all. I just today got myself up to D4.40 using only Legends and Street Stocks. A quick few time trials in the C level Street Stock to fulfill my MPR and I'm C3.40 and waiting for promotion to B at the end of the season. AND I got my oval 5 clean race streak award at the same time. :)

I hardly race ovals, I just do it for a bit of entertainment. But it's really not difficult to gain SR once you learn to spot the morons. (Hint: They're everywhere :p)

I decided to try the iRacing National race at Lanier Speedway. I have been practicing this week but I could not get a fast lap since I was over driving the turns. I finally found a way to make it through the laps without tearing up my tires.

During warm-up I thought to myself "There are too many cars on the track. I don't know How I will make it." I was right. Cars were spinning out and bunching up and that was only warm-up. The race started and I started in 12th. I was stuck on the high side and somehow I made the pass on 11th and got down to the bottom. That same lap a wreck happened in turn 3. 3 cars wrecked and blocked the whole track so I squeezed through and got a 4x. The car was fine and I did not get a meatball flag so I kept going. Lap after lap cars wrecked and I picked up spots. I found myself in 4th attempting to pass 3rd while I lapped cars and watched out for cars coming into and out of the pits. I passed him a few corners later. Second got in a crash with a lapped car so i was in second 5.6 seconds behind the leader.

I started to run him down but I realized I was not going to catch him. with 2 laps to go I though about taking second and all of a sudden my car locks on the brakes. The cable connecting my wheel and pedal fell out. I plugged it back in and off I went. I finished 3rd because I got passed when my cable fell out.

Agreed. In oval and road I got my promotion through Rookie series easily. Actually I think I even got my C license by completing MPR in the Late Models at Oxford Plains via Time Trials and racing Rookie Street Stocks.
