Had a storming race in Star Mazda at Zandvoort. Seems the track is a lot faster this season as I was immediately a whole second or so faster than my previous best ever in practice.
I did 12 minutes practice and then jumped in a race. Started 13th and finished 3rd. A win was on the cards but 2nd place defended very well for well over half the race.

I was helped by several retirements of course, but its nice to pull off races like that occasionally. Zandvoort doesn't really lend itself to overtaking but it does heavily punish people when they push too hard, there are plenty of places to make mistakes, especially on the brakes.

Got the hell beat out of me at Michigan in the B car today. I had a 22x event and list -1.31 SR. Three guys that wrecked me quit after the blatant incidents. It was my all time worst race hands down. Got a LOT of making up to do. Then I'm off to Road for a while. That's my agenda for tomorrow anyhow. "I am dangerously close" to losing my A Oval license. That blows monkey balls!

Good luck! I'm at 2.20 SR now on road because of a single MX-5. I never thought I'd be rear-ended/dive-bombed six times in one race by the same petty MX-5.

My Roar race

Following that great race , I get taken out ten seconds into a Star Mazda race. Sitting on the grid in 4th , someone behind me types "I'm drunk". Guess who rear ends me at turn one ? :grumpy: The car didn't repair well so it's race over and minus irating and SR right there.

But that seems to be par for the course for me. I have a great race , pick up some irating. Next race I lose it all because of some moron. Life's a rollercoaster......

Race started out with me dodging turn one wreckers. I had a superb quly lap 1:32:6xx witch place me P8 on the grid. A guy two rows behind me had an insane start and flew by me. Then he managed to spin after T1 and take another guy with him. Now im already up to P6! I had completly forgoten to practice starts in this car so I had a realy slow start. >_<

Lap 7 a realy fast guy came up behind me and just flew by me puting me down to P7. Then 3 laps later he crashed and im back to P6!
Now my mind starts drifting and thinking about other thing. Like im realy thirsty! And I start making minor mistakes costing me a tenth here and there. Then I forget to break going into T13 and I loose over half a second. Lap 12 some people have already started to pit and I get up to P5.
I have a guy behind me who is gaining on me every time I make one of those minor mistakes.

Come lap 16 I head into the pits. This puts me down to P6 again. But then the guy who was behind me goes to pit and he gets a speeding penalty! Plus I had a close to perfect pit stop. So now I just have to cruise through the last 13 or so laps.. Easyer said than done in a car this fast. I got some water and a couple of seconds to relaxe witch realy help on my concentration. But after 7-8 laps or so I start to loose concentration again and the guy behind me starts to gain a little bit.

Now its just 3 laps to go and I know Iv got this! I can finaly relaxe. My lead is 10 seconds over the guy behind. He makes a mistake and I just cruise to the finish making sure I dont do anything stupid.

Man what a race! Was alot of fun driving such a fast car in a race!
I would be realy realy happy if I just managed to get into the top 10. I would NEVER imagine geting P5! Realy realy happy with the results!
Plus it made me alot more prepared for the comming season.

More to come next season! Hope you enjoyed my drawn out post xD
Oh and sorry for all the miss spells I put you through xD English is not my first language :P

Nice Tyrgaus, you're a brave man to drive the F1. I've heard horror stories about that one.

I just had an awesome race in the SRF at Charlotte. I battled nose to tail with a guy for the entire 20 laps, for first place. We were constantly trading places, each of us made a gutsy pass for the lead at least once. I had a half-spin with 3 to go, which cost me the win, but it was a great battle, we finished 40 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

And some people say week 13 sucks for racing! :p

Tried the Silverado/cup car mixed race at Daytona. 3 'big ones' on the first lap. Got through the first 2 but not the third. Don't think I'll bother trying again...

So for the 2.4 Daytona I qualified with a 1.44.4xx which put me in split 6 starting 2nd. My plan was just stay out of any trouble with it being such a long race. After about 4 laps or so I had dropped to 4th but that was okay leaders were all still close. Then a DP that must of been late starting from pits was coming through and his impatience wiped 2 guys out. That elvated me to 2nd and I just sat behind the leader. We were then joined by another McLaren who quickly passed us to take the lead. Time for pit stop and I was pretty good getting in quick and out again. After the stop it was me another battling for the lead. We traded places a few times. I felt comfortable battling with him, I knew he wouldn't do anything silly. Then we caught a Mclaren backmarker. It was just after T2/3 (right/left) he made it clear he was on inside line. So I take the racing line then WHACK! Sent spinning all over the place. I can only assume he thought I was fully passed as he went to move back over to racing line. Had pit for some damage. There was still well over an hour left at this point. That cost me dearly as I eneded up finishig 8th in class. Without that I'm sure I could of had a podium at least.

Noooo!!!!!!
I picked up Spa (because the thought of a week at Spa in the MP4 was too much to resist) and ran a test race earlier in the week.
I entered the 3pm race today to give it a solid try. Running into Les Combes a driver that cut eau rouge and was pulled over for the penalty decides to make an attempt at the corner and clips my left rear as he cut back for a better line spinning me. Loser. I had to wait for everyone to pass of course and now I'm in last.
Settled into a good pace though, and in the end really didn't care about that tap.
FF to lap 15 or so and I've fought back to 10th overall :D 3 more laps of solid 3 way battling with 2 more MP4's setup a last lap showdown for 7th overall with myself in 8th.
I lost some time with a bad braking move into Les Fanges so it was going to be an 8th place finish.

Just as I approach Blanchimont for the final time........ "A Java update is available"
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Finished in 14th with 15 inc. and -0.09 sr after bouncing around for a while. By the time I was able to get the stupid update message out of the way I was almost at the bus stop chicane :(

Forgot to start game booster :(
Even worse, I already had the update

Mustang challenge at Laguna Seca. Something weird has happens with the FFB on the mustang, it feels like it has a dead spot in the centre. iRacing know and are fixing it soon apparently. Didn't take long for me to get used to it anyway.
Started 7th as I didn't qualify. Coming into the last corner on the pace lap, the guy on my outside has dropped way back at the corkscrew and tries to make it up, overshooting the corner and missing the start.
Then the guy directly in front of me gets on the gas to early as it goes green, puts it straight in the wall on the front straight. And this is all before the race started
Pretty uneventful for me, guy in front made a mistake, then I took and held third till the end, can't complain with that 👍

Ran another GT challenge @ Spa in the MP4 and wow was it fun.
Started 16th in a field of 31 (12th in class) and finished 4th overall, 2nd in class - my first MP4 podium in my 5th race with the car :D
3 wide in turn 1 to start the race and then a driver slid a bit coming out of pouhon forcing me into a brake and avoid move that sent me wide, but I only lost 1 position and all cars recovered. Some really tight traffic for several laps that opened up around lap 6 - now in 4th place in my class.

Fast forward a few laps and I've made it to second in class and with about 10 laps to go I was trailing the MP4 leader by ~4 seconds. For 7 laps it was a full on chase with the gap closing to 1 second at times, but I never really had a shot at overtaking as he was stronger in the first half of T2 and I just couldn't stay close. I'd catch back up through Pouhon and in T3, and T1 was usually a tie. Lapped traffic closed the gap a little, but never enough as the lapped drivers were amazingly co-operative - 👍 to them.

By lap 16 it was obvious that the driver behind me was catching up - fast (he didn't quali so he started way back - had he ran 1 quali lap he probably would / could have won). He spun as we exited the Bus stop chicane on lap 18 leaving me to continue the chase for 1st :D
Set my PB lap on lap 20 (2'22.3xx) trying everything to catch the leader but finished 2 seconds back (I kind of blew Stavelot 1).

I wound up with +81 IR, and --- SR (SR was due to running wide - barely - is it just me or is Spa really picky with borders?)
Great race!

Won my first GT Challenge race just now. Ran my line had 3x's and it paid off. Also earned my B license in the process. Yay me!

👍 Vince!
I figured I'd try the last race before the track changed to Suzuka but it already had :(

One word for Suzuka. It's a bastard!

You take that back! It's always been a top 3 track for me in any game (and RL for that matter).

I wound up jumping in for a race last night and it certainly didn't disappoint :D
Spoon is a bugger though.....

I decided to do a Cadillac race for kicks, its been forever since ive touched the Caddy. I decided to start from the pits and i was in 4th after 3 laps from all the wrecks lol. I see the series hasnt changed one bit. I wound up 2nd and was catching the lead car, but ran out of laps. Got 11 incident points though from going off track so much, damn Laguna!

Ok then. Two words, fatherless child. Lol it's eating my lunch. Love it no doubt but, Dagnabbit!!

I started my oval career. I hitted the wall about 8 times and retired. I am real noob at ovals. Its not simple as it look that way. :D Those American cars can't drive straight anyway. :scared:

 I read your reply really late last night and it went right over my head - the fatherless child / eating my lunch part. I figured it would be best to check back after I got some sleep ;) too funny.
I think he meant awesome.
:D

Funny last race hit oval racing. A car crashed & pitted, but his engine was not fixed. He unlapped himself even though he spits out smoke and debris. For the whole race i could race behind him. It was like driving blind :dopey: It looked lijke a bug.
Good 4th finish though.

I had a AWESOME last race. Not becaus i had a clean race and good result.
But my steering wheel worked 100% whitout the FFB fading away. It was like playing a other game, driving whit a other car. Not suddenly going sideways, feeling the car over the entire surface. When it does go wrong i have total control and catch the car, i feel what i am doing. I almost forgot how great this game can be. It has been several months sine i could drive like this. I am almost crying of supreme happiness

I am just more consistent and even faster.

Just managed to fast track to an A licence last night with a good race in the GT Challenge.
The race started ominously with a mclaren doing his best to block and ram me of the track but once I got past it was just avoid the spinners and accidents.
These races are 45 minuets long so you have to pace yourself and just try to be as smooth as possible When it was all over I ended up 9th after starting 28th all done with the Ford GT which is the slowest car class in the field.

Now in the A class I just hope Iracing add more series to this class rather than just the Williams F1..

Who knows I might just make PRO some day....

Competition is tough in the iGPS especially between rival teams. You have to be at your peak to compete for Pro.

I'm aiming for my division win in my first year in the iGPS, but right now me and one of my team mates are just outside the top 10 for Pro license.

He has done a few races before, but is aiming for Pro this season I think. I will try and get it next season.
