Sorry if this was made before... >.>
But yeah, title; what's your opinion on Racing Softs?
I think they're quite unrealistic, but if people want to use them (in a somewhat realistic situation) go ahead, fine by me. However, I get annoyed when I see a road car with these slicks on - a Fiat Panda Super i.e. with Racing Softs - as if it's a touring car.
There's my opinion, what's yours?

They only work great on Group C cars. Putting them in street cars is rediculous and pointless.

For me:

Comfort Softs up to Sports Medium for street cars.

Racing Hard up to Racing Mediums for race cars.

Racing Softs for Group C cars.

I don't use them myself, they're far too grippy to be enjoyable to me. I use Comfort/Sport tyres on most cars, they're far more fun to use for me.

If it's allowed in the game then it's ok by me. Until PD make changes to stop roadcars being allowed to use them, then there's no real problem. It's up to the individual to choose according to their preferrence of race challenge.

If I wanted to take my road car on a track day and use slicks, I would do. Unless the track owners said I couldn't.

Only useful on LMP, Group C and Formula cars, pretty much overkill on everything else. Also, they're good on GT500 cars as qualifying tires.

Overused i would say. Every single room i join online when i want to cruise and relax, since when i want to race i only join shuffle rooms, everyone and i mean everyone uses them, no matter the car.

And when i see someone using Sports Hards or Comfort Softs i sort off immediatly get the feeling that he must be a good driver and that i want to praise him or something lol.

Overall, i agree with HuskyGT. They all have their uses and should stick with the cars they are meant to be on.

RS shouldn't be available in GT6, period. Also Racing tires in general should only be available for Racing cars (not tuned and others, no matter how good they are), sports for sports, super and hyper cars, and comforts for everything else.

Why? There are different levels of skill involved here, let alone the element of free choice.
You could even argue that a lot of racing cars are much easier to drive on sports hard tyres (or less) than some highly tuned roadcars on for example racing hard or medium.
I also get annoyed by seeing endless rooms with low(ish) pp and no tyre restrictions but more online options to select rooms (not just SRF off) would be a far better solution.

I used to run everything on racing softs, but with time and experience that become to be boring. Actually I only use racing softs on racing cars... and I don't drive racing cars very often, my main source of fun are 400-600 ppr cars in sport tires.

use the Racing Softs as crutches. don't call yourself the best racer if you use them all the time.

Here is how I use tyres:

Comfort ___: Too slippy for me.
Sports hard: 150 hp and less
Sports med: 225 hp and less
Sports soft: 300 hp and less
Racing hard: 400 hp and less
racing med: 550 hp and less (many exceptions)
Racing soft: higher than 550 hp.

It's not up to me or anyone else if someone is allowed to use them or not. I never use them as they're far to grippy and always host my rooms with "appropriate" tires. If someone wants to use Racing Softs, more power to them, but they just aren't fun or challenging to me.

A bit well... I would consider other factors except just HP.
And even cars at 500pp (Approx 300-400+ hp) run great with SHs

Dont care for racing tires at all anymore. I join shuffle rooms for some realistic competitive racing since tires are locked.

Or people can swallow their pride, and use softs to meet the challenge?

If people can drive like a boss on racing mediums or hards, then surely they can boss it on softs.

I used to literally use them all the time, except on the really low end cars like the Fiat 500 and such. But now, I barely ever use them, except on maybe, the Zonda R.

Well,Racing Softs should only be available to the group C cars(as someone mentioned above)
But yeah I definitely agree with you,a GT-R with racing softs it's like a damn racing bike!

As far as I'm concerned, people who use RS tires have no true respect for driving pleasure. Driving around a track with the car fully gripped to the road is not fun IMO. They should only be used for B-spec Bob and his inability to win races without having a huge advantage.

Stupid solution to a problem that shouldn't exist.

I'm intrigued as to what you was using on the Fiat 500? If you don't mind.

To each his own, but after I learned to use comfort tires on high powered cars back in Prologue, I've never looked back. Using lower grade tires definitely increases your skill as a driver, and makes for some exciting races online. I do admit to using RS with some cars when doing personal time trials. I mostly try to stick to RH though.

I usually use sport softs for road cars (no matter the car), comforts when I feel like it, and racing softs for when I feel like it/if it's a race car/if it's an upgraded car.

I don't have an issue with what tires people use - that is unless someone tries to race you with race softs against you in sports Hards/softs - at which I'll just point, laugh, and continue on my way...which happens a lot.

:yuck:
