Forza Horizon 4 Season Change: A Gladiatorial Summer

As May roars into action, a new Summer season is now live in Forza Horizon 4. Series 35 kicks off this week, with a fresh batch of events and exciting new content for all players.

A brand new Jeep pickup makes a powerful debut this week, as well as a new set of Playlist prizes for 50% and 80% completion. Let’s dive deeper into what Summer is offering.

Contender Ready, Gladiator Ready

Carving its way to the center stage for the seasonal completion prizes is the 1992 GMC Typhoon.

Credited as being one of the world’s first high-performance SUVs, the Typhoon trades all of its off-road capability for embarrassing sports cars. Sharing its underpinnings with the GMC Syclone means a 4.3-liter turbocharged V6 under the hood. With 280hp and a performance four-wheel-drive system, this family bus can keep up with equivalent Porsches.

If you want something even more wild, there’s the return of the Bugatti Divo. This rare creation is more than just a rebodied Chiron. The new aggressive look harks back to Bugatti’s coachbuilding past as well as providing modern downforce. Bugatti also shaves weight from the Divo — by 88lb — as well as improving handling. The Divo’s colossal firepower comes from the same 1,479hp 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 as the Chiron.

A fresh Horizon Backstage Pass and the Fiat X1/9 are part of the series-long Playlist completion prizes.

Kicking off Photo Challenges for Series 35 is #HouseOfRod. This objective requires you to take a picture of any Rods and Customs car in front of the church in Broadway. Over with the seasonal championships, the prize pool features the Porsche 550 Spyder and the Lancia Stratos.

Storming to the spotlight is this week’s main prize: the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The last Jeep pickup truck was on sale nearly 30 years ago, and the Gladiator marks a return to the segment. Based off the Wrangler, this Gladiator comes in the hardcore Rubicon trim, designed for tough offroading. To help get the Gladiator through the toughest obstacles, there’s a 3.6-liter V6 offering a healthy 285hp on tap.

If you want the Gladiator in your fleet, you’ll need to win the “Are You Not Entertained?” championship.

For those keen to test the Gladiator before going for the championship, it’s available as part of this month’s Rivals on the Rail Yard Cross Country Circuit.

Everything is reset for Super7 this week with more new cards for Series 35. Complete all seven and a 1977 Ford Escort Mk2 rally car will be sent to your garage.

Finally, wrap up this week by taking victory in three Dirt Racing Series events.

Forzathon Shop

A JDM icon in the form of the 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z stands proud as the highlight car in the shop.

The Z32 generation of Nissan’s formidable Z-car took a direction more in line with a grand tourer. Despite this, the Z32 became a sleeper hit with JDM fans. Under the hood sits a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 with 276hp, though the motor is capable of much more with some tuning.

At 600 Forzathon Points, the Z32 is expensive, but it will still be well recieved should you roll up to a car meet in one.

Alongside the Z is the 2015 Koenigsegg One:1. Making the Agera even more insane is a tall order, but the One:1 more than crosses that boundary. Under the wild aero kit there’s a 5.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 making 1,360hp. Weighing in at 1,360kg (2,998lb) makes the Koenigsegg the first production car with a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1.

Costing just 300 FP, the Koenigsegg is half the price of the Nissan, which in return gets you one of the wildest hypercars ever made.

Novelty items this week include the Pop ‘n’ Lock emote and the La Cucaracha horn.
