Forza Horizon 4 Season Change: Slick Operation

The heatwave gripping the UK festival means that a fresh new Summer season has officially begun in Forza Horizon 4. We’re marching into Series 54, with a freshly assembled set of events and targets for players to aim for over the next four weeks.

A motley crew of cars are up for grabs in the prize pool, plus a remixed set of rewards for completing both the full and seasonal playlists to the required 50% and 80% objectives.

Free For All

The seasonal playlist completion prizes have just one car waiting to be won: the 1967 Mercedes 280 SL.

This second generation of Merc’s indomitable grand tourer faced a huge task in replacing the iconic 300SL Gullwing, but it was able to become its own smash hit and gathered a wealth of famous owners.

Under the squared-off body sits a 2.8-liter straight-six with 180hp, which is all that is needed in a car that prioritizes cruising in comfort over outright speed.

Players keen on doing PR stunts can aim for the 2010 Mosler MT900S. This American supercar is often overlooked and considered to be too niche in a crowded market, but with high-tech racing pedigree to its name, the Mosler is not a car to be sniffed at.

The MT900S features a beefy 7.0-liter V8 from a Corvette, tuned to give over 600hp. With barely any weight to lug around at just under 2,500 lb, twisting roads are nothing that this monster can’t handle. If you can flex your tuning muscle, you can adapt the Mosler to demolish any PR stunt around the festival.

There’s also a couple more Horizon Backstage Passes available if you’re needing to top up on your collection.

Kicking off the Photo Challenges for Series 54 is a case of #GoingOffroad. The objective for this one is to simply snap any Offroad car you’re driving. You can make your pics more authentic by hitting any dirt trails or locations away from busy roads. Summer championship prizes feature a mix of cars including the Maserati Levante and Plymouth Fury.

Standing above the parapet is the 2008 Lamborghini Reventon. Inspired by stealth aircraft, the very angular Reventon caused a huge stir with its looks, as well as giving inspiration to the future Aventador.

This Lambo was also one of the most exclusive models ever made with a production run of just 20 units. The Reventon’s mechanicals are straight from the Murcielago LP640, meaning a bombastic 6.5-liter V12 putting out 641hp.

You’ll need to come home with the “Forest Run” championship to get the Lambo to your garage.

The newest Monthly Rivals puts you in charge of the Mercedes-Benz W154 over at Bamburgh Coast Circuit.

You can also go after the latest Super7 cards should you require a greater challenge. If you complete all seven cards, you can drive away with a Citroen DS23.

Forzathon Events

This week’s Forzathon looks to satisfy a need for speed, as the spotlight turns to the 2011 Bugatti Veyron SS, one of the fastest road cars ever made. Jump into this 268mph rocket and head out to get started.

Next, show the Veyron’s sustained high speed capabilities by earning 30 Ultimate Speed Skills. On a long enough stretch of straight road, the Bugatti will fly past the objective. After that, continue putting that speed to good use by earning a total of 12 stars from Speed Traps.

Finally, finish things up by turning the Bugatti into an unlikely Gymkhana machine as you’ll have to earn 4 Ultimate Skill Chains.

Forzathon Shop

The shop lineup features sporting brands that have cars that could not be further apart from each other, starting with the 2014 Lamborghini Urus Concept.

This “Rambo Lambo” SUV garnered much controversy when it was revealed, despite the maque having previous offroader experience in the LM002. The prototype Urus was part of a feasability study into a third model line where Lambo had also built the Estoque sedan. Lamborghini eventually chose the high-riding bull for production by 2017, with the finished version staying largely faithful to the original design.

Under the angular, rakish body is a 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 making 552hp, and despite running on huge 24 inch wheels, the Urus concept still has grunt to take on other sporty SUVs.

The concept Urus is very cheap at just 100 Forzathon Points, which makes it an attractive left-field alternative if you don’t have the production version in your garage.

If you’re after a different kind of flair, you can check out the 2017 Alpine A110.

Signalling the rebirth of the once famous brand, the new A110 pays homage to the past while also giving modern performance thrills; the switch from a rear to a mid engined layout helps to bring a new handling balance that makes the A110 one of the best cars to drive.

The engine is a 1.8-liter turbocharged unit lifted from a Renault Megane and makes 248hp. While that sounds disappointing on paper, the A110 tips the scales at just over 2,400lb, allowing it to make serious headway against its rivals.

While the A110 will burn a hole in your wallet at 599FP, if you want to give the Porsche Cayman a serious headache, then this French thriller is just the ticket.

Wrapping up the shop is the Clock Tower horn and the Day of the Dead Tee 1 if you’re after more avatar clothes or a new horn for your car.
