Gear.Club Unlimited Brings Realistic Racing to Nintendo Switch

Eden Games is bringing it’s popular Gear.Club title to Nintendo Switch. The announcement comes in the form of a short cinematic trailer showing off the first realistic racer on the system.

The game will get a slight name change to Gear.Club Unlimited for the Switch. The title suggests that Eden will be dropping the freemium nature of the mobile version in favor of a more traditional setup. The trailer itself is just under a minute long but gives us a look at some interesting content. A wide variety of cars are shown including mainstays like the Nissan GT-R and Pagani Huayra. Those who’ve played the original title will recognize the vehicles shown here. Other platforms remain unconfirmed at this time.

The hybrid nature of the Switch console lends itself to these types of game well. Whilst it can offer traditional console games, it isn’t a surprise to see mobile devs trying to bring their games to the system. Gear.Club Unlimited could prove a fun handheld racer outside more serious racing games on the other platforms.

Eden Games has had a busy week in terms of racing news. Last Friday, we reported on the title being a part of the McLaren World’s Fastest Gamer tournament. Opening the competition to those without access to a gaming console, Eden Games added three new circuits to support WFG. At this point, we’re unsure if these tracks will make the jump to Unlimited but we assume so given the name of the title. McLaren’s 675 LT can be seen throughout the above trailer.

As an added bonus, Gear.Club Unlimited will be the only console game launching in 2017 to feature RUF cars. This spring, we speculated that the availability of Porsche across the genre was pushing RUF out. Needless to say, we’re glad to see the marque alive and well here.

Gear.Club Unlimited launches Q4 of this year featuring online play, leagues and a sizeable roster of licensed cars. The mobile version of the game has its fans but the freemium model can often get in the way of the actual racing. With no competition on the platform, Eden Games has the chance to put together a solid racing experience for Nintendo Switch players.
