A special demonstration of Gran Turismo Sophy ahead of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 World Finals in Amsterdam has revealed a possible return of the fan favorite “B-Spec” mode for Gran Turismo 7.

The roll call of names for high level racing drivers who’ve learned their craft on Gran Turismo is impressive – Jann Mardenborough, Lucas Ordóñez, Wolfgang Reip, Florian Strauss – but from 2016 though it seems we’ll have to add a new name to that list: Bob.

We first learned that GT6’s B-Spec mode was nearing release when some of Polyphony’s official European websites were updated with the first two in-game screenshots of the new driving mode. Today, we have even more information and screenshots thanks to a new article on the company’s Japanese blog.

UPDATE: These references to B-Spec have since been removed from the official site.

Last week’s Jalopnik Film Festival was a smashing success, and became a unique intersection between car culture, filmmaking, and the Gran Turismo series.
