Laguna Seca got a small update in GT6:

More than "small", only missing weather and day/night cycle :

The only tracks that need updates in my opinion are the ones with pre-baked lighting **stares at Grand Valley**.

An updated Suzuka will be a pleasant gift for me at least, I've always prefered to choose a track with any form of time, or weather, or both dynamic environment change. Suzuka's weather variant is okay but I wish it could be implemented in the single-player career mode and the East layout.

Good find @FrzGT. Suzuka is a wonderful circuit and having it lag behind with such features is a shame.

I expect every circuit in GT7 to have full time-cycle. Some circuits such as Nurburgring Nordschleife, Circuit de la Sarthe, Laguna Seca and Cote d'Azur will require complete rebuilds, for differing reasons, as they are not anywhere what we should expect on PS4.

Why Nordschleife and Le Sarthe?

Why Nordschleife and Le Sarthe?
I mentioned both of those as it is like driving through a tunnel at points at those circuits. La Sarthe is worse in this respect as large portions of the straights have solid and quite ugly tree-lines which kill any real depth of environment. Nordschleife has the same issue although it is not as apparent.

They are a result of PS2 limitations and should not be an issue in a PS4 title let alone a platform flagship game.

PoDi can't update a track every year so obviously, after a while, these tracks will be a bit dated.

Tracks that are 10 years old as Monaco, okay, they have to start rebuild completely. But the rest, not.

love Suzuka so this would be great , but yeah ameer spotted the square sun so it may still being worked on ... fingers crossed we will get it before the ps4

Perhaps but for Le Mans circuit (regardless what they have updated on it), has never been really upgraded. Textures are worst than on the 2005 layout... Imported from GT5..

Add a display panel for the ranking (who doesn't work) or change few signboards isn't an upgrade.

Proportions are not respected, trees, road, track width, etc ... Especially between Mulsanne and Arnage, a disaster! Overtake on this portion of the circuit is suicidal , the track is abnormally narrow there.

EDIT: and there is no tire wall at the pit lane entry.

I agree about Mulsane and track section until Porsche curves, it look flat and trees look bad. Also there no
reflectors on track wall and road like in real Le Man race. So PD should implement that.
But it's about Suzuka and can wait to drive it at sunset! :D

It's the 'Casio Triangle' not 'Casino', a lot of those style of maps (I think they were made for Wikipedia) have several errors.

Exciting to see an update on the way for Suzuka though, some of the texturing is a bit bland as it stands.
Yes, 'Casio Triangle'.

I'd rather see more tracks make a comeback, like Sonoma, or new tracks in general (VIR anyone ?), but I'll accept a Suzuka update once it's arrived in-game.

I forgot how fun Sonoma looks until I watched this the other day.

Not trying to take us off topic... But yes IMO Sonoma has probably one of the hardest turns to learn, Harder than Nurburgrings and Mt Panoramas believe it or not. The hills are insane. Especially the hill that leads into the long left harder. Many drivers have crashed there. "Oh I can go 1-2 miles faster into entry. Oh sh-" *crash*

Mixed feelings.. on the one hand, I'm really glad to see courses getting time change because I LOVE that :D but this also means the track will be covered in those horrible flickering low res shadows. :yuck:

Really looking forward to what PD does with this supposed update that is coming sometime (does anyone know when??). I really hope it's a meaty update! 👍 Hopefully it's enough to pull me away from the avalanche of games I'll be playing this week! :embarrassed:

I don't know if anyone had noticed in the past, but in one of the championships (or race, I can't remember) I've seen the clock on the screen change at places such as Fiji and Suzuka, which are places with no time change at all. I always thought that was a glitch but if they're adding time change to it then that will explain it.

The gravel trap looks a bit less flat and pixelated and more 'F1 20xx'. Which is good as that has been GT6's worst part with detailing environments.
