Round 2 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series gets underway this weekend at Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo Studio, and Fanatec is marking the occasion with something you can’t just buy: a T-shirt signed personally by series creator and producer Kazunori Yamauchi.
The event itself is closed to the public, but the full broadcast streams live on the official Gran Turismo YouTube channel this Saturday, August 15.

Fanatec has been the Official Steering Wheel Partner of the Gran Turismo World Series for years now, and the DD Extreme is specifically what’s bolted to the rigs the drivers will use on stage in Tokyo. It’s Fanatec’s flagship Gran Turismo product, now with 18 Nm of torque, a wheel rim designed in partnership with Polyphony Digital, and support for “FullForce,” Fanatec’s name for the high-frequency vibration effects that ride on top of a wheel’s normal steering forces.
Moza Enters the Picture, Too
Of course, “Official Steering Wheel Partner” title hasn’t felt quite as exclusive lately, though. Just a few weeks ago, Moza was announced as a new peripheral partner of the World Series too, developing its own PlayStation-compatible wheel in collaboration with Polyphony. That’s the first time in years two directly competing wheel manufacturers have held official sponsorships in the series at once, a status Fanatec has effectively had to itself since the GT DD Pro launched.
The DD Extreme is still what’s on stage in Tokyo this weekend, and Moza’s wheel remains unannounced beyond the initial partnership news.
