    @Jordan
The man in charge of PD (Kaz) is constantly jetting off around the world racing and was racing with Lucas at Nurb not long ago, factor in the time he spends organising, practicing, training and racing and thats a hell of a lot of time PD staff are without their boss.

This is the main reason GT5 turned out the way it did, missing cohesion and quality and half finished projects, you can tell no one knew what to work on so we end up with a mish mash of unfinished ideas, but he still hasn’t learn’t, his heart is no longer in it imo.

You only have to look at his twitter page, he posts about what his next race is, how the cars coming along and photo’s, plus its in English. When has he ever kept us informed of what’s happening in GT5?

    1. Quakebass

So someone is REQUIRED to post about their business on their twitter account…? Do you understand the point of twitter? He’s not going to inform us on every detail of what his company is doing. Plus, I’m sure there’s a manager/vice president at PD for when Kaz is gone… Most businesses and corporations do… So Kaz not being around at PD’s workplace is NOT an excuse for an unfinished product. We already know the main factors: New complex engine, and a forced release.

    2. Jordan

You’re responding to my comment here? Your points of argument aren’t relevant to what I stated, which is that this show on Eurosport and the driving careers of GT Academy champions have no association with Polyphony Digital’s software development capabilities.

To answer your question, Kazunori has used his personal Twitter account dozens of times to share information about GT5; check out these blog posts, all of which cite his Twitter comments as a source of information.

teppischfresser… Russia nukes us?…. LOL. The UN security council wouldnt let that happen, or specifically the UK,Germany and France, who have their own set of nukes. Lets not also forget the soon to be US missle defence strategy to be built in the EU….
Are you sure you’re an engineering student?
Thoughts on post apocalyptic eras might be a dementia…perhaps, the better chunk of that four hours gets used on Fallout 3….

Anyways, lets hope Kaz announces DLC fast :)

  3. biftizmo

Are we going to get PDA with TT/DT this week..this is what it says in update 2.06. (Applies only to seasonal events held after this update).

  4. KilzoneStrife

    teppischfresser lol
Dude, for being a guy that tells people to “get lives”, you really should spend less time being a judgmental keyboard warrior insulting people people who are oniy stating their opinion.
Perhaps, you should better spend that time studying.
This, from a qualified Psychiatrist, that is a GT Fan.

    1. teppischfresser

This from someone who studies like crazy: I got a 96 on my physics test Friday. I only play about 4 hours a week of games. What do I care that you’re a psychiatrist? When Russia nukes us what will you do? I’ll be helping restructure and teach others how the world around them works.

    2. Quakebass

There’s something called “adapting” or “being dead” that we’ll have to experience if we get nuked… And why do you assume Russia is the one to do it…? That just supports claims that you’re judgmental… Everyone would be able to teach their knowledge, it’s not that hard. Some people would just be better at it than others based on their way of speaking or ability to see through other perspectives, which you don’t seem to be good at, at least from they way you’re currently presenting yourself.

  5. TokoTurismo

GT Academy for the win. I watched the videos yesterday and was really impressed. Good luck to both Lucas and Jordan at le mans. I bets it’s gonna be xtreme. :)

  6. sibbystiggy

people who are still here after DLCs, going on & on, are just interested in what gaming has to offer, (NFS, Forza, Dirt etc are all just games)
I’m Here To Enjoy what ‘Racing’ has to offer!

  7. sibbystiggy

Lucas Ordoñez is a legend! one of the greatest racing drivers in my life time….
sony playstation gamers beating le mans racing drivers, GT ACADEMY RULEZ!

  8. teppischfresser

Is PD supposed to say “We apologize that you beat our game.” if you beat it, do something else. Did any of you play games before DLC? It seems like the answer to that is no.

  9. Hentis

I saw the first episode on Eurosport last night (I V+ it). It was very good if just a little around 15 minutes in length.. It also showed bits of Lucas at the Ring with Kazanouri San.

I wish them both luck but will be looking forward to seeing them race as the whole race will be shown this year in its entirety on British Eurosport. Must remember to V+ it as well.

Some members of the “clan” RoninGT i am a member of will be going next year. Alsa unless I win the lottery it wont be me. Would be nice to go but just dont have the funds….

  10. teppischfresser

I love how stupid this community is. “Good luck! Oh…Where’s the DLC?” do you guys have lives? Go outside and do something. Play a different game. Not every game has DLC, so get over it.

    1. Badhornet

      + 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000
Finally, somebody that understand there is a real life outside !!! People believe that because they paid 50$ for a game that the whole planet will be at there feet to entertain and support them…

    2. Badhornet

Nevertheless, good luck to Lucas and Jordan for the race !! (the actual topic of this post)….

    3. MyFavoriteGame

I dislike off topic posts as much as the next guy, but your argument is invalid. I don’t get the connection between “going outside/having no life” and “DLC”.

    4. Quakebass

We can have lives and still play video games… So what’s your point? We have the time to play the game, so when we’re long time fans of it, what’s wrong with asking for DLC? I understand getting annoyed at the constant whining, but saying that we all “don’t have lives” just doesn’t make sense… I know that there is a world outside my Playstaion, outside my living room, outside my house, and outside my country. I’m in my schools marching band, and I’m trying to start a business. So saying that I have no life because I play a video game and would like more content for it, and that I’m interested in the lives of some gamer’s-turned-racing drivers, really, is just blatantly stupid.

    5. teppischfresser

Im in the middle of getting an engineering degree but still play games. My point is that DLC shouldn’t be a given. If you’re done with the game, play something else. Don’t bitch about how you beat the game.

    6. Quakebass

I’d have to say that less then 5-10% of the users on GTPlanet have been whining about DLC in the last few weeks… So your comment: “I love how stupid this community is.” basically states that your saying ALL of us are whining for DLC. Of course everybody would want it, but I, for one, along with MANY others look at it with a realistic perspective based on data given, not just assume that theres a static 2 month schedule and say “WHERE THE F*** IS MY F****** DLC?!?!” when it’s a day late. I’m assuming the “lack” of DLC in March/April is due to GT Academy, and that a DLC pack/update will be coming around the time that it ends. I’m perfectly content with what I have, though I’d enjoy more, (as would anybody) and I DO play other games when GT5 becomes boring to me. Which isn’t just because I’ve beaten it. I’d like you to find ONE time that I’d complained about DLC. GT5 was a let-down in terms of “GT Standards”, which I’ve talked about a few times, (I’m not going to go into detail, so just look at older articles to find it) especially in terms of the Offline A-Spec mode. The point of games is to make it last as long as possible, and not just with the online component. That’s how the old GT games seem timeless, but GT5 doesn’t. Offline content doesn’t feel well integrated, which would therefore bring down the appeal of the online counterparts. You’d better not claim I have no life with that statement, for one can get just as disappointed with a movie, book, software program, or other electronic device that wasn’t made well compared to the standards of the previous iterations. And really, I’m not “bitching” about the game; facts ARE facts. I do enjoy GT5, but it could’ve been a better and longer game had it had the time to be developed properly.

  11. VspecZR1GT2RS89

Good luck Jordan and Lucas on you conquest in this year’s race. I’ll still be cheering you guys and Toyota TS030. :D

  12. KilzoneStrife

Great for these guys to get the exposure!

Now, the issue of DLC… previously, looking at the old updates.. if they were above 300mb (not including spec2)..
They had hidden DLC cars that would eventually be announced, and Unlocked after paying for it on PSN. Clearly, the latest update had cars in them…
So, I wonder, are they the GT Academy prizes? or the new soon to be announced DLC?
I doubt its the GT Academy prizes..thats most probably stores in files somewhere in the GT Academy install itself…

    1. Hentis

Errr That’s a big fat NO. I can almost guarantee you that the cars that will be given out as prizes in GT5 from the Academy rounds were in the 435 meg update we got a week or so ago.
After all it won’t be the fully rendered model of the car it will be skins. If we get any more DLC, and that’s a big if, it will be a month or two after the academy has finished.

  13. N99GT

speaking of programs anyone watch a program on BBC4 yesterday about Carroll Shelby and Ferrari at Le Mans?!
very good, watch on i player!

  14. Jawehawk

Every time I see an LMP (or similiar) on the news screen, I immidiately think DLC. Then I read the title and see it’s just yet another news piece on previous GT Academy winners. -_-

Maybe there should be a news section dedicated to GT Academy :D
Disclaimer: I don’t mean to offend anyone by posting this.

    1. MyFavoriteGame

I know what u mean, I visit GTP on my phone so I always see the picture first. I’m always disappointed when its GT academy stuff.

  15. Turkey :D

Interesting videos and all, but what about being able to drive some of those race-cars in GT5? Also, while there are people that care about GT Academy and its winners, what happens to them and their racing teams doesn’t affect Gran Turismo players as a whole. This kind of news just lets us know that PD isn’t using as many resources as it could to work on Gran Turismo games.

    1. Jordan

Polyphony Digital has no involvement with the production of these videos or the driver development of GT Academy winners. There is no reason to assume this has any relation to or impact on Gran Turismo’s development.

    2. TokoTurismo

+10 Jordan. Ugh, why must people assume everytime that GT Academy news comes, PD gets jumped saying they put their attention on this over GT? I hope thay KNOW that “PD” has their main focus on GT period. They have nothing to do with these videos nor GT Academy. They’re attitude towards GT Academy. IT’s unbelievable… @_@

    3. RACECAR

Exactly where do people like you get this unfounded idea that PD is “Not using their resources on GT”? You don’t work there nor have any contacts or sources close to them so your claims hold no water whatsoever.

    4. Flagmo-T

Well if that’s the Case, then PD is the slowest business concept ever to be created, But we all know that already – PD = Painful-Delay in every step they take.. :o) – I’ve lost the passion for this games, just because of the slow support from PD.. I still like it though, but wont put my life on hold for it anymore – Ones bitten ‘ twice shy I guess ..

    5. Turkey :D

Yeah.. My rant was about the existence of GT Academy, not the videos (somewhat off topic). PD likely does spend time working on the software side of GT Academy such as the mini-game in the PSN Store and quite a bit of network code stuff. However, there could be separate groups working on the GT Academy mini-game, GT5 patches/fixes, and Gran Turismo 6. I wish I knew the truth. Only Kaz knows all.

    6. Quakebass

^ PD’s working on GT6, so their full workforce can’t be on GT5. If it was, they probably wouldn’t be the “slowest business concept ever to be created”, and GT5 could MAYBE have lived up to it’s standards by now or in the near future.

  16. Foxiol

I was watching the videos on GTPlanet2 You tube account and the message pop up. Great videos and good luck to both pilots and the team of course!
