NFS Underground FTW.

A real URAS body kit is not NFS, Please don't comment on topic's you know nothing about. Tuning and body kits is a big part of the JDM culture, and not having them in GT is crazy.

Here's a random question: When do you think is the last day PD can work on Gran Turismo 5 and still have it ready and shippable by November 2nd and 3rd?

NFS Prostreet FTW

Could you please explain what ugly non existent body kits from NFS have to do with real JDM body kits? We already have HKS, Blitz and many more in GT, why not there body kits?

Generally 1 month before release, but they continue to squash any bugs after, thats why many games already have updates to install at release.

I think you being a wee bit pedantic. I was just joking that body kits were a huge part in Need For Speed Underground.

I agree body kits will be great in GT5, so long as they have a decent performance advantage. So at least I want splitters, diffusers and wings.

Depends on when the game goes 'gold'.

I don't know the exact date, but i'm presuming it will already be set.

I think it will have been completed after TGS.
I am sure they will complete before GOLD announcement.
Think about shipping to the markets Shopping Website etc.

I was about to give the reply Jay. About mid to late September. If I remember correctly no less than 3 weeks. They have to get the game to the company, that will put it on disc.

I've received notification that the Signature edition is being released on the 5th of November rather than the 3rd... Anyone else had the same?

for me its more about looks that performance, body kit help very little with down force. I just wat to be able to make a normal S15 into something like the HKS S15, but without the graphics.

Is the purpose of these body kits visual or performance? Presumably it's for both, so how are they so different to (some of) the ones in Need For Speed?

GT5 is going to have racing modification like in GT1-2, which included a race-spec body modification. So hopefully we'll get the same for some cars in GT5.

And to answer your question, to implement specific bodykits from specific manufacturers for specific vehicles would take a great deal of time to model.

I think they intentionally changed the first part of Countach........

Bing Bing Bing, comeon Dave_sz, you think I know all that crap about some obscure female rally driver and I can't spell Countach? I suppose you think I don't know what it means either!

Yeah, there is a thread about it. But it's not just for the Signature Edition.

So far though, only Game/Gamestation/Gameplay have pushed back the release. Amazon.co.uk still has the 3/11/10 release. HMV still has 26/11/10 release :dunce: It's a mess.

But the official Europe release date is the 3rd. Stock usually gets delivered in advance of that date. So if a retailer is saying it's later than that, they're screwing you over. Sadly, the Signature Edition is exclusive to Game and the other retailers it owns (Gamestation and Gameplay.co.uk).

If you want the Standard version or the Collector's edition, and haven't yet put in your pre-order, do not go with Game :)

Not just because of the late release, but becuase they're charging £39.99 and EVERYBODY else (Apart from Argos :p because they suck) is undercutting them.

Body kits are for visual purpose, if you want performance you should have options like canards and front splitters.

And it shouldn't be that hard for PD to do it, not al cars should have a body kit option. Only for tuner cars, you aint gonna modifie a 60's ferrari.

Many aftermarket body kits are designed to reduce lift and give places for aftermarket parts (intercooler, oil coolers etc) especially front bumpers. Many more are just for posing :indiff:

The trick is to get ones that do both.

Yeah, they've already said not all cars will have the option to modify.

Body kits do have an affect on performance. Aerodynamics are a big part of automotive design these days. A lot of these 'tuner' body kits are specially designed to not only improve the appearance, but to improve the performance (airflow) of the car aswell, especially at reputable tuning firms like the ones you mentioned.

Exactly. It just goes to show how relevant aerodynamics are, when the makers of Need For Speed built a windtunnel into their modification menu. I hope GT5 do the same (But please, for the love of god, don't make drag and downforce inversely proportional )

Fair enough. GT has never been about things like that too much. But it could happen.

I was wondering watching that photo-location city screenshot ( the one with that tram ) and which was also featured with moving footage in the very first GT5 trailer.
We now have reverselights, working horns and apparantly signs of indicators on the GamesCom demo-HUD.
Are we heading for the first traffic-jam simulator or to put it in other words, free roam cities?

In about 5-6 weeks, I think they will be at a stage where they start to organize mass production.

I wonder how the security is at the factory where they mass produce the games, as If I worked there I would be slipping at least one out the back door a good few weks before they are shipped to stores!! lol:dopey:
