I was wondering watching that photo-location city screenshot ( the one with that tram ) and which was also featured with moving footage in the very first GT5 trailer.
We now have reverselights, working horns and apparantly signs of indicators on the GamesCom demo-HUD.
Are we heading for the first traffic-jam simulator or to put it in other words, free roam cities?

It has crossed my mind... There are little hints here and there.
But, it's still unlikely. And I know you weren't being entirely serious ;)

Also, there's nothing wrong with having a ****ache - in fact I quite like it. EDIT: double meaning? :p EDIT: Nope, triple... :scared:

Pretty sure I spelled it right the first time.

You guys need to get a sense of humour!

Feel free to ignore & not comment if that's the case.

Bing Bing Bing, comeon Dave_sz, you think I know all that crap about some obscure female rally driver and I can't spell Countach? I suppose you think I don't know what it means either!
Well done chaps. 👍 Nice way to circumvent the swear filter and get yourselves an infraction.

I could see some good use of the indicators. For example, on the real Nordschleife people normally use indicators to show their awareness of faster overtaking cars. So it would also be useful in GT5 if there are online free roam / social practice sessions on the Nürburgring. Some kind of way to improve good online attitude and to add to the lifelike experience. Imagine you come in your Zonda or whatever and I block your path in my Fiat 500. I'll light the indicator, pull to the right side and you have my green light to overtake.

Another thing is that there is a great chance that some people won't respect other players in GT5's online mode and only try to sabotage the joy for others. That they could solve with some kind of kick voting system. If the majority of players feel annoyed by someone, they should have the option to kick them from the session. :)

This is only speculation but I don't see any other reason why they would put indicators on the cars.

In another thread I mentioned the same thing regarding indicators (at least somebody agrees with me) 💡 haha

Perhaps along with indicators, we also have hazard lights, maybe to warn others of a race incident etc, or when your car is wrecked, with the engine broke and parked in the middle of the road..could be handy at night too! haha

Perhaps I wasn't indeed being entirely serious and I didn't mean some sort of GTA or TDU style free roaming but maybe something ( apart from an online-social meeting point for example where you could just freely explore a city with possible "things to do" whatever that may imply ) like licence tests or driving missions whereby you have to navigate to a certain point within a time limit and having to deal with uncoming traffic or traffic in general for the first time in a GT-game ( not only cars but also trams ;)).
Or just an extra driving element to accentuate the driving part instead of only offering a track-based experience.
Not expecting it by the way, although I'm openminded enough to welcome it.:)

I will vote now that GT5 is the "Game Of The Decade".Honestly.

Possibilities are endless but I have doubts that we can wreck our cars so much that they can't continue. So far, damage has looked kind of limited but who knows what they have in store for us.

Hmmph. As someone who spends a lot of time in Photomode, am I the only one who's wondering why the it seems the only option I have for moving is walking?!

That camera better be free-roam, I don't want to have to be tethered to some mannequin.

These two ideas seem linked :dopey:

I can see some kind of free roam mode being popular online.
Wasn't it touted as being possible with photomode now? I.e. you can maneuvre and park the car up and take a photo? Or maybe that was just being able to walk around the car.

I don't at all expect "traffic", although a bit of dynamic ambience would probably be present - even if it's just for photomode.

Another thought: photomode online? Like some sort of amateur concours d'elegance (or maybe just a "cruise" :indiff:) Well, only a month to go... :D

Can you damage your cars in photomode...?

:D

Who would want a shiny image of a wrecked car? :dunce:

I was just thinking, If you can have multiple cars in photomode, and it allows you to do this online as a sort of 'free-roam', wouldn't people be able to crash into your car to wreck your shot?

There are plenty of perverts who cherish the thought of being able to fullfill this fetish.
Thinking about it, I may be one of them.;)

Hopefully not! It would be quite painful to see someone crash into your million dollar ride just as you pulled the trigger on the camera.

@Seismica

Unless you mean Photo Location... then, Race > Replay > Photo Mode (like GT4).

Or, GTP answer me this, is the damage permanent? If so, race -> crash, exit race, go to Photo Location, profit.

It would be cool if GT5 did carry on GT4 spirit regarding the state of you ride: dirty oil, a really high mileage, twisted chassis and dust accumulated everywhere, that's how we roll when trying to score some A-Spec points more, yeaaaahhhhhh :P

Very True. There's a whole industry dedicated to this smutt.

The photos and videos of the veyron that crashed into the gulf of mexico are priceless. 👍

Oh dammit.. thank you.. anyways how are you doing?

Doing well, recently got a new laptop and I'm living epic. How about you?

The irony here, whether intentional or not, is hilarious.
I expect that other racing games may be playing catch-up for as much as a decade. ;)

Does anyone think that there will be a car/track list before or at TGS?

I'm thinking that everything else that we don't know will be saved for then but I'm eager to see what new cars they've added as they've claimed that the premium cars represent cars that are the most desired among the 1000+ :sly:

Oh man,on the Nurb 24H doc, it's that instrumental song again! Any info on that?

It appears on this video too:
