Thanks for posting 4x 18 mega-pixel screenshots 👎

Please, just post links, don't put image tags around pictures like that.

They're on the news page by the way, I learnt a while ago, to check the news page before I post 'new' information. :sly:

you havent seen everything yet...

those are screen shots of the tuning "shop", where you go to buy your parts...

But It's not gonna be like NFS where you can trade in your body panel to make it a tuning cars.

Sigh, what a huge let down. So slap on a new interface on the same GT formula and Kaz has the audacity to make it sound like customization will the next coming of Jesus?

You can't possibly judge the entire game/tuning/customization based on a few example teaser shots. sheesh :indiff:

We haven't seen the customisation yet. :) Don't worry.

When we see it, then you can complain all you like. The only indication we get here is we don't get to pick tyre/part branding (Which has never been mentioned by Kaz, PD or Sony, or anyone), it's not the end of the world.

Yes I somewhat agree. The same stuff but lacking in detailed info (remember the scrolling text). The same goes for the lack of world map, that was great having hidden gems and different places to explore.

But then remember what spectator mode looked like from the GT-Academy compared to now? Alot of the interface will most likely change.

Maybe not, but Kaz did say that body customisation would affect the aerodynamics of the car.

Body kits, splitters, diffusers, spoilers etc. all serve aerodynamic purposes.

Need for Speed: Prostreet allowed you to modify the bodykits to adjust the aerodynamic performance of the car in a windtunnel. Bodykits arent just for boy-racer types :)

The only problem in NFS was, increasing the downforce/drag also increased the top speed. So it was completely redundant, as there were only benefits to maximising the downforce and drag of the car.

I believe it will give you info if you click on the item for purchase. Looks like they have done away with the scrolling information at the bottom. (To be honest, the scrolling information was annoying. It moved too slowly and you'd often miss the beginning of the text while your attention was elsewhere, so you had to sit there for like 20 seconds waiting for it.)

Either that, or they removed it completely due to the book you get with the CE. (Which I think gives you info on tuning your car etc.)

Thanks for posting 4x 18 mega-pixel screenshots 👎

Unless they're different from when you made this post (same pic address though) they are 720P which isn't even 1 MP.

The interface isn't the problem. We haven't seen anything to back up Kaz's claims that the tuning will be much "deeper" than it was before. I overreacted but all I'm saying is that so far it doesn't live up to the hype in that department.

Well they're still pretty big images (I thought they were the same images that were posted on the news page, but from a different source).

Well the exhaust upgrade screen was more in-depth, so was the weight reduction menu. They have also confirmed race modification.

They're just keeping it under wraps for now, though I don't think it will rival the depth of customisation in some other titles.

who else thinks that some time in the near future after the games release that there should be dlc of lots of porsche's?

I always laugh at those boy-racers in real life who put a big spoiler on their hatchback thinking it may seem to make their car appear to go faster when all it does is take a few mph off their topspeed and increase fuel consumption.

But I'll agree that bodykits ( of the subtle kind ) aren't exclusively for that crowd.:)

They are screen caps from the HD (720P) kart video just released on the official GT website.

The direct link to it is on the bottom of his post.

He s not zinedine Zidane. He is Russain heavy weight boxer
Thanks zero, I didn't know that, but I didn't really think it was Zidane either. 👍

I think both of you need to learn how to spell Countach.
Pretty sure I spelled it right the first time.

You guys need to get a sense of humour!

It ain't tuning if there are no body kits and other stuff like body parts.

I want to be able to turn a normal car in a full tuner car!

NFS Underground FTW.

Here's a random question: When do you think is the last day PD can work on Gran Turismo 5 and still have it ready and shippable by November 2nd and 3rd?

Well the exhaust upgrade screen was more in-depth, so was the weight reduction menu. They have also confirmed race modification.

I wouldn't say more in depth. They took the 3 stages of STREET SPORT RACE and reduced them into individual parts except they got rid of STREET and now you get to mix and match your parts. MUFFLER still describes the whole catback.
I know I'm just being ridiculous about this now. Kinda disappointed. Gotta go cut the grass fellas, see you in a bit.:dunce:

Body kits and stickers are not TUNING. That's customizing.

NFS Underground FTW.

NFS Prostreet FTW

As I said before though, for some reason Drag and Downforce are inversely proportional in that game
