My thought s on the wheels fiasco

: change wheels: select from all the wheels you have previously purchased, on premium cars only

as for the release date I think Friday will be the day of the announcement, due to the fact that most stores will know 100% on Friday if the game is to release on the 24th. the sooner they make an announcement the better.

Well it's from some guy, pretty random on Twitter. But would be cool if they announce it tomorrow.
At least the guessing game would be over.

Yeah, would be nice to get a date, put an end to the guessing games going on...and hopefully they'll stick to it this time.

No aftermarket wheels on standard cars

Game is delayed, False marketing

No cockpit in standard cars ... this was known a thousand years ago!
No online auction house, If you want another game then go get the other game.
 
I love how uninformed gamestop employees are, being funny just to hear their response, I was like so did you hear? it'll be coming out this november-december, we were told as a community we'd get it "this holiday season and before the new year" kaz said "we wont be keeping you waiting that long" and he looked it up with a firm face and was like "yeah, well it says here our street date is 1/01/11". I was like well GTPlanet and the playstation blog will know stuff before you guys. He's like "Don't believe what you hear on the internet" I was like GTplanet is as pretty official on the news page as you can get. Jordan wont post it on the front news page if its not true.

So then I mentioned all the new videos out, he's like "They're fake" I'm like no.. this has the intro/menus/dealers/events/rain this isn't the "demo" that was handed to the stores, this is the real game.

Anyways, ends my rant, I just think its funny how informed these people are when they think they are when they aren't think they a placeholder date is the real date, sounds familiar eh? lol
 
- Incredible tracks, Madrid, Rome, Nurbugring, Tokyo, Toscana and the freaking Top Gear Track!! Right on

- Online mode were you finally can prove to your friends who the better driver is, very important feature IMO

- Custom soundtrack. I've always wanted this because sometimes the music is a big no-no for me

- Different types of racing. Rally, NASCAR, Go-kart, something that don't expect from a Gran Turismo so that's a plus.

We haven't seen every track yet. Only those available at the start. Remember GT4 only had about 20 tracks available at the beginning and it ended up with about 70 when everything was unlocked.

About the standards....WHY! WHY! WHY do we have to go through this crap again. First you were worried about how they would look like next to the Premium cars, now that we know that's nothing to worry about.

But, still, again with the "there's no cockpits on standard models" again and all the other crap. Seriously, shut up about it already.

I, for one, am happy with everything in the game and will be trying to platinum it. I guess, however, all those whiners who still don't like the standards won't be. I hope, when setting up online races, we can choose whether to race only Standard cars, only premium or mix them. Otherwise you know you'll join a race in a standard car and some idiot will be on his mic going "Ewwww....you're driving a standard car. Looser."

I'm happy with everything in the game as well. When I watch the video of the Miata racing around Tsukuba, I never really noticed the standard cars. I mean I knew they were there, but I didn't really nitpick at every detail. I feel like everyone is so obsessed with every detail in the game. Coming from a quote that I read in an interview with Kaz, he said something along the lines of, If you keep on focusing on the details or what everybody wants, nobody will be satisfied. Will it be better if all cars were premium? Yes it would, but for now, we have 800 standards and 200 premiums, and plus I bet that when we have the game in our hands, we won't focus on the standard cars as much as we are now. Just my thoughts.

I don't understand what Sony is doing at this point. They know we know the game is out there in the open. It may be they are waiting for some regions to get their shipments for a simultaneous release worldwide. However, there are SEVEN weeks left in the year! How hard can it be to pick a date(s)? With all the leaks they better say something official ASAP.

You know, I thought this too. They are waiting for all the copies to hit regions/shelves to release the same week. Releasing in the same region order as what was suppose to happen Nov 2-4.

just name a game (yes, it's a game!!!) on any console that can top GT5?
tell me the name of the game that has day/night transition, dynamic weather, track creator, 1000+ cars, lots of challenges...people can have a game to least like 10 years here...but if you dont like what you see, just leave this alone

Actually, some people did get dissapointed since there are games that offer such stuff that gt5 didnt include, the problem is that ppl had to big hopes for gt5, and when they heard the customization thing in gt5, that thought that the customization gt5 would offer would be something completly new, and that isnt the case. They had the hopes that they could buy an old civic or a supra and mod it both mechanicly and visual in such extent that other ppl online would be impressed. That can be achieved though, but not in gt5.

A game isnt sucessful just because it has many many cars, or lots of functions, the point is to have right cars, and right functions that would be valuable to the players. The 800 cars arnt really valuable to players since there are 200 exelent premium cars. Many epic cars are missing as premiums by the way.

Someone wrote on another post that Kaz listen to what fans want and put it in game, if it wasnt for us, games would never develope, since all game developers have special units reading bloggs, forums etc etc just to find out what is "hot" on the scene.
 
Everyday this week people have posted that "they are going to announce tomorrow", well its thursday so I am done with those beliefs. I really feel bad for the vets on this board that have been here for years, I occasionally checked in every few months for the last few years before I even joined.
 
Ill be honest the reason I trust the 24th Nov prediction, is not because of all the sites or anything, buts its all because amar mentioned it, and he already made 100% true predictions like months before they were confirmed.

So 24th on my calender, 2 weeks to go!!

On the official site? I rarely look at the site, as GTP is the best place for news.

I like the fact that Sony stopped asking GTP to take down the videos. Maybe just accepting the fact that the cat is out of the bag, and that they should move and provide (or confirm) a date...?

Fingers crossed. 24th FTW :P

Does anyone else think that we've pretty much seen everything that's going to be in the game and the only things left to find out about will be minor disappointments? It's a phase that most games go through before release.

Uh no. Hopefully we have only seen 50% or less. The game is to have 20 locations with umpteen variations, not 20 tracks with umpteen variations. Everyone is misreading this information and assuming 20 tracks. Why would you go down in track count in comparison to GT4. As far a tracks, there are several highly requested ones that haven't been seen. Based on an old "what would you like to see in GT5" thread on here started back several years go, PD has come thru on alot of the request. With that said, no I think we still have more to see, which is why its unfair to judge a game that we can't even play yet. These leaks aren't showing us what all we want to see. Perhaps Sony's does have a play in these leaks.
