I don´t think it will be any faster.

The race modded cars in GT2 were significantly slower than their racing spec counter parts.

Try race modding an R34GTR and compare with a JGTC Skyline model, you will see the difference. They don´t have the same aerodynamics, so if it´s still the same situation, those cars will feel like "half of a racecar".

Oops, maybe I didn't explain myself properly, but I didn't mean C6.Rs from Gran Turismo 1/2 (the C6.R didn't exist back then :)). I meant GT1 spec and GT2 spec Corvette C6.Rs which have been racing succesfully these last few years in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series.
Since the RM probably comes from the Corvette ZR1 (641 bhp) and the GT1 spec C6.R has about 600 bhp, and about 500 bhp for the GT2 spec C6.R, it's quite safe to say that it will be faster than its pure racing counterparts.

If this Camaro and Vette are an example of Race-Mod, then look closely at the interior, not just an added rollcage but seemingly a fully stripped interior (and therefore remodelled) as well as opposed to the tuned cars in Prologue whereby only a few rollbars and a new steering wheel were added.

Looking at it closely it seems to be race tuned, with the Gran Turismo sun shade stick on both cars and the white decal with the number in it has been confirmed as you can change the number from 1-99. But then i'm no expert and I don't have the game, yet! :sly:

Also looks like we might be able to put on manufacture decals to!!

just to let you know, often, although it may say dispatched, amazon, play etc, keep the packages back as late as possible before sending them, or i think, given to royal mail, and at that point they keep them as late as possible.

I would imagine, its been packed, stamped to go, but just sitting there with loads more stamped and packed gran turismo 5's just ready to go.

Ah ok thank you, will stop me getting too excited then. Was planning my day's solid gaming already! Still, its exciting though to know progress is being made and there is no 2 day delay as was feared earlier.

Where has it been confirmed that you can change the car number?Do you have a link by chance?

WOW......!

Going to show my age now, way back I used to have a cutting edge computer calle an Atari 520STFM with an extra 2 meg of memory (that cost me over ÂŁ200.00 for 2 meg!), and I used to do some graphics work using ray tracing package (I can't remember the name now) that would create images with multi light sources and surface textures. But the point is to render just an image of a mirrored ball on a checked surface with a cloudy sky would mean leaving it to run for about thirty six hours and that was a fast machine in it's day, that's not even as much work as the PS3 does for one light cluster on that Ferrari!.........wow I really am an old codger! lol

That's exactly the point of me posting the two images. I remember playing Crammond's GP2 on a intel 386 machine and no, I wasn't blown out by the quality of the graphics but I also know at some point (in my lifetime) that the graphics in driving game will improve immensely. Driving sim is the only type of game I play and to witness the progress over the span of almost 20 years is pretty amazing.

This is where I started- Geoff Crammond's GP2 (1992):

About 6 years later- Grand Prix Legends (1998):

And 10 years later (and paying 1/3 of what I paid at the time to get GPL running at full gfx settings):

seeing that GP2 images brought lots of memories... lol
no track in the mirror to get the fps higher :D
anyway, i somehow agree with both visions of people complaining or parising about the graphics..
i care more about the physics but nevertheless it's nice to see some graphic improvement over 5 years of development...

GPL was/is fantastic, the sound of that Ferrari in the game is awesome!! Thanks for bringing back memories. :)

askmen.com is having a "Race through the Bay" competition for GT5 this monday in the San Francisco. I just received an email from them saying I was a finalist to compete with a partner. Only problem is I don't have a partner. So if anyone is in the San Francisco area on Monday is welcome to compete with me. I just need to know before 4 PM pacific time. Oh and you need to be 21 with a drivers license. PM me if interested. Here is a link http://www.askmen.com/microsites/race-through-the-bay/

I have a question for you guys :

Are the 6 DLC stealth and 5 chrome line cars added to the arcade mode only or we can use it in the carrer mode also ? I think the PSP cars can only be transferable to the arcade mode right ??

Maybe just online and arcade ?

Here is the intro music in full (good) quality

Obviously as predicted it sounds a lot better than in any of the live versions

It is not the worst song you will ever listen to but us GT fans sort of expect a ground breaking song nayways like Jeeza always says could be worse

Does anyone know what's wrong with the royal mail in the UK?I preordered black ops from hmv hk and it still hasn't arrived, usually they take 3-5 days.:guilty:
I also orderer GT5 there, those who have there copy posted to them should be aware of how fortunate they are:)
