Very true. Many variables go into it, and I couldn't really remember where I was trying to go with it... But back on topic somewhat the Apex book was what convinced me to go with the collectors edition. I love it when games come with dvd's or books or anything. I even bought the Forza 3 collectors edition, when it really wasn't worth it in the end.

I'll definitely be glad to switch out my Forza keychain for my new GT one. :)

But aren't you used to being ripped off yet? We Europeans seem to always get the worst possible deal when it comes to gaming and equipment. Just compared prices for the Logitech G27 and I nearly got sick (all prices amazon):
US: 251.06 $
DE: 279.90 € = 381.12 $
UK: 269.00 GBP = 432.27 $

Well luckily I'm not into model cars and I would probably lose the keychain in a matter of months, but the game itself will hopefully provide entertainment (and challenge) for years.

In Australia it's $499 ( AU=US ) for a G27 at the shops and is usually more expensiv online after adding postage.

That is crazy why is it so expensive down under? This same wheel went on sale during the summer for $150 online and in store at Best Buy.
 
hey guys, first time posting :)

I have preordered the Australian Collector's edition of GT5 and it says it has a 200+ page Apex book but the american version is 300+ pages. Why is there such a big difference between the 2 books. I dont think its because of any language issues as both versions are english. I could understand the difference if one was asian version.

Also, the chrome line vehicle pack cars that comes with collector;s edition...are they only exclusive to the collectors edition? Or are you able to actually obtain and modify these cars in the game to look like the chrome line vehicles?

1) maybe just a typing error... 200 / 300... or the american version got more advertisements in it..l.ike "kentucky fried chicken presents on the next pages the licence tests"...LOL
2) it would be unfair to charge us for the chrome cars in the CE when you could create them yourself easily in the stock GT5 pack...
But whether they are in the game as bonus cars or only unique for the CE?...who knows...

pretend German is a more effective language and the 100 pages that are gone were unneeded lol

but I'm sure the book will be uploaded to your favorite torrent site

download it and compare the two if you want to lol (not that I or anyone here condones that sort of thing)

the Apex books are all the same. there are some screenshots online. and it has more then 300 pages.
the chrome lines are only in the collector/signature editions
 
So I just called FutureShop and Best Buy here (in Canada), and they both said they would have the collector's editions in store, but do not accept pre-orders for them.

The guy at FS said they would proably just have 2 or 3 in store. BB sounded like they would have lots. His exact words were,"Oh yea, we'll have them. We had them for Fable, COD etc." Neither of them were sure if there was going to be a midnight launch?! It is less than 48 hours away. How do you still not know?!

They are? Even if you've already paid in full for a game? I pre-ordered GT5 with GS. Should I be trying to be there early on the 24th so they don't sell my copy?

I've seen this happen & heard about it from someone I knew at the home office in Grapevine, Texas. Basically it was new hires wanted to either impress their friends or just make the sale due to limited demand. The collectors editions will be fetching a premium on Ebay for the holidays.

Apparently EBGames had the full Stealth pack as a Pre-order bonus for both the standard game and Collector's edition! CE is sold out now it seems :(

Ang on a mo...... the US is getting a 1:43 car and keychain in the CE too? How comes we don't get that in Europe?
 
Best Buy (U.S.) just let me order the C.E. online with in-store pick up, so hopefully they're not sold out. I also have the C.E. on order from Amazon, but they dont have release day delivery for Alaska, and the next day shipping estimate is the 29th! Cant wait that long!

Not sure, depends if they are numbered. I bought the Fallout III collectors edition about a year after it was released.

I preordered my CE copy through gamestop.com on june 17th with free overnight shipping. They have charged my debit card, but order status says backordered. It also says takes 1 business to day process and another to ship. With the upcoming turkey day on Thursday...I might not get it until Mon? I am going to preorder from best buy also. Anyone elses gamestop order says backorder??
