GT5 - Collector's Edition

I've got my CE practically bought and paid for. Just need to go down, hand over $5 and I'll have my box.
 
I might cancel my CE now, and just get the regular game after being murdered by the car/track list.

I am to angry right now to justify 100 bucks on a game that I might think took a step backwards.
 
So I had CE ordered thru amazon and today went to check if the delivery date had updated ofter the announcement. Come to find out my order is nowhere to be found. I searched for my order # (from the email when the date changed to 12/31) and nothing. So I go to pre order it again, there was no release-day shipping option, even using two-day shipping the estimated date is 11/30. No way I'm waiting that long, so I was curious why no release day option when originally it was.

I pre order the regular version and voala, release-day shipping option for the 24th. So it seems CEs will not be shipping on the release day from Amazon, anyone else know? Those with orders is it still scheduled for the 24th?

I didn't order it thru Amazon and instead pre-order from BestBuy with store-pickup option which should be 24th (they still have 12/7 on the site which we know is incorrect.

I really hope the CE itself is not delayed thru all outlets and it was just a Amazon thing (and maybe just my order). Waiting for the release date to update on BestBuy and its also delayed there will just pick up the regular version.
 
Hello, I'm living in the UK until december of this year and i didn't see any pre-order for the collector's edition ? (only for the standard and signature editions !!) Why ? the collector's edition doesn't exist in locals stores (GameStation and Game) in the UK or what ?

I really want get the Collector's edition in a local store and NOT on the web, do you know where can i get one ? HMV maybe ?

I emailed Amazon about this and got a good response.
Here are the details: (My message in green & response in purple)

Selected Order Items: Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition
Release-Date Delivery: Delivery estimate date is wrong.
Comments: I pre-ordered this game with release date delivery using my Prime account.
The current listed release date for the game is November 24, 2010, but the delivery estimate on my order says December 31, 2010.
Please fix this to reflect the new release date of November 24.

I see that the release date for the Gran Turismo 5 changed recently but we haven't updated customers orders yet.
We are in the process of updating it and it will soon be done and the delivery date will reflect November 24.

Collector's Edition

The Collector's Edition is exclusive to the USA, Europe and Asia. The Collector's Edition for the USA includes the game, a custom etched Keychain, a 1:43 scale model of a Nissan GT-R with exclusive livery, a 300-page APEX book with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more, an e-voucher for five unique "Chrome Line" edition cars, and a Certificate of Authenticity. The Collector's Edition has sold-out at retailers GameStop and Amazon in the USA; it is however available at other stores in the country. The European Collector's Edition will include the game, a 300-page APEX book with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more, an e-voucher for five unique "Chrome Line" edition cars, an exclusive GT5 dynamic theme and a Certificate of Authenticity. So the BestBuy site only has the stealth car bonus offer listed for the standard edition, I assumed it also applies to CE but now I'm not so sure. I preorder it and there's no mentioned of it at all (when I preordered it from amazon there was a note saying I get the bonus).

Anyone know for sure if the stealth bonus applies to both editions at BestBuy? I think it would, hoping its just a website thing but if not I may switch to GameStop while I have time.

You can get the CE version through Amazon with release date shipping now. Just took them a while to hit the magic button.

I ordered the CE from Amazon back in June with release day delivery. The order hasn't updated with the new release date yet. Still shows December 31. My June CE order from Gamestop(yes I ordered 2 copies) now shows shipment on Nov 24. I'm sure the Amazon order will update soon.
 
On my Amazon pre-order, I just change the shipping speed to one day, and back to release day delivery, and it updated the Estimated Delivery to Nov. 24th.
