Here's the scene...
I wake up all excited. Too excited to think about early morning lovin' (wife is probably pleased I didn't wake her up)
Smiling all the way to work. Checking GTplanet.net on my phone during my meeting, and online whilst back at my desk. (time seems to be going backward)
~quitting time!~
Rats! Rush hour.
Get home, my sons start freaking because they think I've come home with the game and are all over me. (they KNOW how looong I've been waiting for this game)
Nah, I ddidn't pick it up yet. You guys want to go with me? So, I have my two young sons at gamestop with me, who of course want to spend time looking at EVERY nintendo, DS game and ask me specific questions about each one. (all I want to do is get in line, and get my CE)
There's three people ahead of me... Ahh I'm up next. But wait...the cat in front of me is asking all sorts of crazy questions, and making small talk.

So, I've never played any first person shooters, but this dude is about to get a stealth attack in the back of the head. (Oh yeah, my sons are with me.)
Finally it's my turn. ~ "I'm here to pick up my pre-orer of the GT5 Collector's Edition." The guy behind the counter asks for my phone number. I give it. He repeats it back in a jacked up, incoherent numerical order. "What???" No, no,no I SAID...###-###-####" (surely the dude must know how jazzed I am about getting this game and he's just messin' with me, right? (he's about to get a full frontal attack)
OK, so I get the game, make a mad dash out of the store and head for home. Wifey says "Can you make dinner? I have to run out real quick." (aarrrgh! Are you kidding me?) Many, many minutes later, and much chopping of avocados and tomatoes ...tacos are done. (man, I TRIED to keep it simple in the interest of time) OK, so the boys are fed, kitchen is cleaned.
I reach for the box... Carefully unwrap the packaging. Slide the top off... (angelic voices heard...) marvel at the sight before me. It's finally in my hands. I feel the weight of the keychain. I flip the pages of the APEX book, and smell the printed ink pages gently waft up to my nose. (I'm either about to pass out or cream myself) I struggled trying to get the package with the GTR out of the box. (forget it, I'll look at it later). Then I remember...
Arrgh! I forgot to get my gamestop bonus code when I picked it up!
Oh well...later for that too. For now...

The game is opened, and loading...! It's on!
