Hello again, I'm living in the UK until december of this year and i didn't see any pre-order for the collector's edition ? (only for the standard and signature editions !!) Why ? the collector's edition doesn't exist in locals stores (GameStation and Game) in the UK or what ?
I really want get the Collector's edition in a local store and NOT on the web, do you know where can i get one ? HMV maybe ?
Thanks !
Amazon just confirmed I cannot get the SLS bonus with the CE version, just the standard even though my original confirmation email said so (was a "misunderstanding"). I read it as they ran out of codes and now changed it on me as it was there before I added it to my cart. Was cancelling the order anyway as I decided to just pick up the game at Best Buy and not wait for the delivery man so and placed my preorder there. They too haven't confirm if the bonus applies to CE and I get a feeling that it won't. Knd of silly standard edition get it but the more expensive CE you can't.
Walmart does have the bonus NSX listed for both editions but they don't seem to do store pickup, too bad as that would be my pick of the stealth cars. Anyone preorder games from walmart? Do you get them on the release date? Tempted to change preorder yet again if I can get my hands on the CE on 24th AND that NSX![]()
Damn, I might be leaving town for Thanksgiving. I don't want to miss out on my collectors edition copy, I've placed a deposit on mine but Game Stop is well known for selling reserved copies.
Standard Edition:
Just the game.

The GAME Group got exclusivity on the Signature Edition, Amazon and Play got exclusivity on the Collectors Edition. As such, right now you have no choice. If you want the Collectors Edition, you have to either order online or find a used copy in a store. However, don't expect a used copy to be easy to track down, or have all of the bonus content available.Hello again, I'm living in the UK until december of this year and i didn't see any pre-order for the collector's edition ? What have you got against ordering online anyway? Just buy from Amazon and use 1st Class Delivery - it will be with you on or before launch day.

Does anyone know if the box inside the Collector Edition box has the same boxart as the regular box?
With many CE versions the box in which the actual disc is is plain black, or at least different at uglier than the regular box, which I don't really like![]()
In that case I stand corrected. I can't find any site relating to Gamestop UK though, only Ireland. To be honest, I didn't even know they had stores over here. Are you sure about this? I have a receipt for my brother for the collectors edition in my local Gamestop (UK).

The CE SLS bonus was removed last month when they stopped the sale of CE, before restarting it.
They still give you the SLS with the standard edition. With bestbuy you still have to pay tax and shipping, unlike amazon.
Well, given I didn't know that Gamestop had stores over here, as far as I was concerned the only place I could get the CE was either Amazon or Play, with Amazon being the only one to offer a somewhat "guaranteed" launch day delivery! Now I know different, but there is still nothing locally for me and no UK-based online store for Gamestop, so my options are no different.http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&s...4.265224,-2.021484&spn=6.188186,19.577637&z=6
Google only shows two on the mainland, Birmingham and Stockport. I remember seeing them elsewere in the UK too, but can't remember exactly.
Sometimes things can exist both off the internet and out of London, lol.![]()
So the Asian & US CE get a 1:43 model car, but the European one doesn't - and that's the one I've got coming. Feeling a little short-changed![]()
What is an average rate of pay (hourly/salaried) in Germany and the UK? I'm curious whether or not the labor that goes into making that amount of money is roughly the same. For example, say I work 10 hours here, and make $75.00. Would 10 hours of work there be worth 75 euros, or 75 pounds? If that is the case, then you guys have the better deal overall, as you could buy much more here than I could buy there. However, if 10 hours of work there would be more equal to 50 EUR, and all it is is Logitech charging a premium for overseas sales, then the US has a better deal.We don't even get the keychain...
But aren't you used to being ripped off yet? We Europeans seem to always get the worst possible deal when it comes to gaming and equipment. Just compared prices for the Logitech G27 and I nearly got sick (all prices amazon):
US: 251.06 $
DE: 279.90 = 381.12 $
UK: 269.00 GBP = 432.27 $
Well luckily I'm not into model cars and I would probably lose the keychain in a matter of months, but the game itself will hopefully provide entertainment (and challenge) for years.

where i work, i get £7.92 per hour, so if a day is 10 hrs, i would get paid roughly 80 pounds..but the games here costs more so it kinda balances the wages, everything cost more anyways, so i think living cost is the same comparing to what you earn. And mind you 7.92ph is way above average, minium wage is £5.50 when you are over 18.
It all depends where you work, its hard to get paid nearly £8ph unless you are working in the biggest retail store
If I remember correctly I've seen collector's edition to be the very same except there reads "Gran turismo 5 Collector's edition" on the slim side
If you are referring to the actual game cover on the Blu-ray box itself, it seems to vary depending on location.
In the US, the cover art on the Collectors Edition has a red and blue GT logo with a red SLS, just like the standard version. In the UK/Europe, the cover art on the Collectors Edition is greyscale as per the Signature Edition.
Anyway, you guys did get the short end of the stick when it comes to Logitech wheels, I suppose. But you guys do get the Signature edition, which here we can only drool over.
Well the Signature Edition would cost about 310$ here in Germany. I don't think that's worth it, especially since I'd sooner win the lottery than that SLS. Frankly I don't even really want any special items except for the apex book - which I'm getting. The keychain and model car would just be a nice addition and I think it's just stupid of Sony to make such differences based on region.
As for the price aspect: I know it's not really as simple as comparing prices, and it's also not enough to take wages into consideration. To be perfectly fair you's have to take a lot more into consideration: rent, transportation cost (fuel , train ticket, etc), medical fees and so on. You'd have to look at two people with equal jobs and equal living standards and see how much money they have left over every month. But I guess this is not quite the right place to discuss this.
