So far i've completed B and A licenses in Silver with the pad. For me, this is the first GT where the sticks have been actually useable. In previous game, including GTp, the stick was far too choppy and aggressive for steering and I've used the d-pad and square/ex, now both the accelerator and especially the steering is useable, much more sensitive and gradual. Kudos to PD for finally improving the stick sensitivity.

No worries man, its a tough one to debate, but then you can always say each to his own. I personally found it hard in the TT demo to control the car with a pad due to the upgraded physics, but I could see by watching the top replay that the guy was much smoother using a wheel.

So I have a lot of respect for people racing with a pad, especially a sim like GT.

Never touched the sticks, or even the SixAxis. Been using the buttons (since they are progressive) on a DS2 (with adapter). Maybe it's from the long hours and being used to it, but it works better for me.

But on GT5 I intend to solely use the G25.

It will also help me loose some weight... :dopey:
 
Hope you guys don't have the DLC problem I have. Gamestop promised two cars; the McLaren F1 and the Gamestop NASCAR. I got the code and I got the NASCAR car but the reason I pre ordered from Gamestop was for the McLaren. I called them up and told them I didn't get the McLaren. The guy told me he couldn't help me...
 
alright, updating my game, 13% whooo!! I hope i have no problem using my wheel getting the license because i'm still new to it. I'll try not to revert back to my pad.
 
Hey so on Gaf Amar mentioned that the game will have options such as leaderboards added to it which I am really looking forward to, any indication on when that will be?

Is it just me or are the licence tests harder than ever and I just cant seem to get silver never mind gold, damn it's hard (using dpad)

btw where do I turn on driving assists in the settings menu or can it only be done during races from the ra menu that you have to set buttons to for it to work or are they the options you can set before the race ?
(do they always stay the same or do you have to set them each time for each race, ie do they return to defaults ?)
Oh and are the online features working correctly now ? I haven't dared to do a online race via the lobby as im too afraid that my save will get corrupted:scared:

I'm using Dpad as well and Silver is the best I can do so far (B-licence)..but i'm very close to Gold on most of them...Probably give more tries later...or I simply need a wheel...

I am going to try to GOLD all my licences with the D-Pad, "Old school" as if i was playing GT2 and GT4 for the first time! :P

I will get onto the wheels after that and do the licenses again for the second time, just to get myself used to the transition :P

What do you guys think? Good idea? Waste of Time?

I think that something most people here should do, play with the Pad first to see really how much/big of an improvement GT5 physics is over previous GT games or/and even competitors games...

For UK GT5er's, GAME are selling brand new DFGT's for 79.99. Pretty good I think. I'll probably get one at that price, if there's any left after xmas.

oh i know...i was a postman :dopey:...and i know how it works...is for this reason that i´m really mad right now...the game will be here tomorrow...and this Saturday i´m traveling for 3 weeks to Argentina...12000km away from my PS3...but with my girfriend :sly:...
 
OK guys. Been playing for the first couple of hours. I adore this game so far, I don't even give a damn about the Standards in fact I'm fine with them.

I only ask that the shadows be fixed. And thats it.
 
Still waiting on UPS to deliver the friggin package. The wait is killing me, and those of you who have it is making it even worse, hehe....Anyways, I'm not the biggest GT fan by a long shot, but for some reason I'm more excited for this game than any other game I've ever had. Not even Uncharted 2 or MGS4 got me this excited. I don't know what it is, but something has infected my mind with GTitis.

I wouldn't do that if i were you.I just called Gamestop tech support and they said it is a know issue and they are working to fix it.Aslo once one redeem the code it is tied to your system.

Yes, the only thing that i saw from the videos too. It looks so bad and worst when in replays you see the dust mixed with the shadows...really bad...to many good effects together for the PS3.

Has there been any word on using B-Spec online, through a browser, remotely. I may have misunderstood, but I could have sworn reading about that somewhere. It would be great to be able to have my driver grind through some races while I am here at work.
 
I can live with bad shadows and shimmering with spray and dust (I think this is probably attributed to some kind of edge detect anti aliasing) but really want is the option to turn of the HUD which I'm sure Kaz mentioned at one point or at least give us a transparency option as I'm already getting burn in from the static writing on my plasma.

Yes. From what I recall of it you need your PS3 on and in the appropriate mode (haven't played it, can't comment) and log into your PSN account via your regional gran-turismo.com website to control him.

More specific than that I can't do until I try it myself.

Anyone have issues with GT5 getting hung up at the layer info screen? I selected what I wanted to be open or just for friends, hit ok, and nothing happens. Kind of frustrating...

I always thought that Pre-ordered games came a little bit earlier but NO. i still havent got mine and play.com normally have a good record with that sort of thing!

Dude, I ordered my CE with Play.com too! I havn't got it either :S Apparently mine was posted friday night too!! So I would hope tommorrow :) but not getting my hopes up! I think they just use First Class Royal Mail. I'm just thinking it's Royal Mail and their :censored:service.

I feel your pain. I've been tracking my Collectors edition all night up to 1 mile away from my house. Today it's on a delivery route 5 miles away. Still hasn't reached me yet.:grumpy: Why is it we have to wait for a delivery attempt,before we can make an in-store pickup?

I hope so too. I'm really loving this game so far, but I still can't help but feel a tad bit disappointed by some of the limited content.
