Is it just me or are the licence tests harder than ever and I just cant seem to get silver never mind gold, damn it's hard (using dpad)

btw where do I turn on driving assists in the settings menu or can it only be done during races from the ra menu ?

Oh and are the online features working correctly now ? I haven't dared to do a online race via the lobby as im too afraid that my save will get corrupted:scared:

Respect for using a dpad! All the challenges are probably set by someone using a wheel, so getting a gold with a pad would be very hard!

I was 5 seconds off the top time using a pad on the TT demo!! So if you can get a wheel pal!

I finished GT4 (more that once) with all golds using a PAD, and so did many. I would think GT5 golds are also attainable in that manner.

Using a wheel does not equal instant win. I'm still regularly faster in the pad than the G25 on Prologue. If I get it just right, I can do ONE lap faster in the wheel, but it's a lot more demanding and mistakes are easy to make/hard to recover.

"When you get in the zone and really get in tune with the controls, this game really does let you tap into the pleasures of driving and racing."

This +1000.

That Destructiod reviewer guy really nailed what I experience when I play any of the Gran Turismo games.

Do the pre-order codes expire?I pre-ordered from Gamestop so i will get the Mclaren F1 Stealth and Gamestop Nascar but my PS3 is broken so i am borrowing my nephews and installing as i type.It may be a month before i can get myself another PS3 but i'm going to use his until then.My question is will my pre-order codes ever expire? And where is the code for them at?There is no code on my receipt nor inside the game case.:nervous:
Mine says it expires on 1/31/11. The code is on the Gamestop receipt.

Yer I totally agree, I wasn't saying the wheel equals a win every time, in fact its more demanding and physical than moving your thumb left or right, but its smoother, which is pretty much key for racing.

Sweeeeeet Thanx for the info's might get a wheel december (ill keep pushing the licences even if I can just get silver for all of them) any cars that one would unlock with the golds ill buy when I have the cr's for them

Now I just need to figure out if I really need the race aid settings up front when im racing, dpad buttons are crazy to map for all the settings (wipers, lights and all the other stuff's)

OH and if online racing is working right now

I won't go for the golds right away, but that's just me. In previous GTs, I tried my best in each license, went on to the rest of my career, and then came back to attempt for gold using the experience I built up from racing.

That guy seemed to review the game properly! It's still not a 10/10 in my eyes, not with the standard/premium mix up, but then it would still be in development for another few years, so it had to have some boo-boos.

Where is the code located?I don't have one inside the game case nor on my receipt. Is it on the disk after i install it or something?I am currently installing the game.
Edit: I don't have any codes on my receipt.

I think Gamestop releases codes for pre-orders through email also. Try looking through your inbox. If no luck there, then I guess give them a call.

Sorry, sometimes there is that notion that a wheel makes things "easier". With a wheel you "may" be faster. But you have to "be" faster. Not "just" hit the right buttons at the right time.

The guy working at my GameStop remembered to give me the codes, so I didn't have to remind him. They're supposed to give you another receipt with the codes on it.

Also, speaking of which, I only got the GameStop NASCAR when I redeemed the code. No McLaren F1. Anyone else had this problem?

Nope nothing in my inbox either. If i don't get these cars i am going to the emo thread and scream my head off.Anyone else that has the game know where toe codes are?

I just picked mine up from GameStop, while there I ask where the codes where, he went to the computer printed a separate receipt with the code on it. Some of the people behind the counter my not no to do that, unless you ask.

So I guess when you pick up the game from GameStop ask for them to print out the redeem code.

Well that sucks.. Iv got the collectors edition ordered for me back in NZ but I'm traveling for the next year or so, so by the time I actually get to open up/play GT5 all my codes are going to be expired..!

AT LONG LAST! I finally have GT5 in my hands!

The Collector's Edition packaging is top-notch too, definitely worth the extra buck, the "Apex" book alone is worth spending the extra money.

I got mine at GameStop and the redeemable voucher was located right on the receipt that they gave me when I picked it up, I didn't have to ask.

I always thought that Pre-ordered games came a little bit earlier but NO. i still havent got mine and play.com normally have a good record with that sort of thing!

Does anyone know which delivery service Play.com uses? thanks

No worries man, its a tough one to debate, but then you can always say each to his own. I personally found it hard in the TT demo to control the car with a pad due to the upgraded physics, but I could see by watching the top replay that the guy was much smoother using a wheel.

So I have a lot of respect for people racing with a pad, especially a sim like GT.

I've been running all the GT's with a pad but am thinking of getting a wheel within the next month. I have no problems with the pad and am used to it after 4 GT's so no sense for me right now to switch over to a wheel.

i've some question for the online mode :

1) Is it possible to make online tournaments ? race after race ,
2) Can we adjustthe time limit for other players than the first place ?
Because it seem, we have only 15 sec. to finish the lap after the winner.
Normaly the others players must finish their race, like in reality, isn't it ?
I'm very disapointed by that fact and i'm sure friends and you all too.
(same probs with gt4 before).

Maybe simply add a new parameter to configure this time limit, like on FM3 ?

How to contact PD for this important request ?
If you have an idea, thanks for all of us.

Damn and blast I keep forgetting to add something when I ask a question, Is it just me or can we only choose one song for our custom music(oops I mean user BGM don't sue me)

Could someone please contact Jordan to ask him if he can ask Kaz if and when there will be Time Trial worldwide Leaderboards? Has has a Q and A with Kaz tomorrow and I don't know how to contact Jordan.

So far i've completed B and A licenses in Silver with the pad. For me, this is the first GT where the sticks have been actually useable. In previous game, including GTp, the stick was far too choppy and aggressive for steering and I've used the d-pad and square/ex, now both the accelerator and especially the steering is useable, much more sensitive and gradual. Kudos to PD for finally improving the stick sensitivity.
