Yep, its miles better than version 1. My sloppy lap times lowered a few seconds average.

Its a very different tune. Its faster but also more unforgiving since its much more precise. Good thing the suspension now gives better feedback and I needed only a few laps to adapt.

I did hate the car because I didn't know how to drive it properly (stock setting don't help either...).

The problem however, is making no mistakes which is difficult enough at London River without having to run against you :D on this car.

I'm no surgeon damn it :P

@eSZee - its seems a heat problem to me too. Crashing very few minutes reminds me the old over-clocking days... :D

Oh it's getting plenty of cold, basement-y, 67* air. I'm thinking the drive could be going but the weird thing is, older games work fine, the newer ones are only having problems.

Gave my consoles a quick blow with the shop compressor, maybe that will help.

I had a similar problem with GoW. Have you installed it to the HDD?

I would also like to put in a second request for the Lotus Exige S (works converted though). This car "should" be a great handling car but at the moment feels sloppy, unresponsive and highly inaccurate to drive...

In its original form is one hell of a car and I've been upgrading it to class top level to beat some times (quite easily should I say) without even changing gearbox or tire pressure.

Engine swap do wonders and a a works version should be demoniac but I'm not there yet.

Disclaimer: Be weary of pushing the rear end too far, once it breaks loose (depending on the speed you were going in prior to) it will be nigh on impossible to correct without carefully using the e-brake. It's a fairly involved improvement over the factory settings but requires, neigh, it demands that you pay attention to what you're doing, otherwise you just won't be able to get a good feel for how well it performs once there's adequate heat in the tires. Fastest lap at London River: 1:16.411 (S).

Disclaimer: Practically the same disclaimer as the NW (non-works) Apollo, however, it can be pushed a lot more than in it's stock form, the rear doesn't break loose unless you're driving like a maniac, carrying an inordinate amount of speed through a corner. It's still very demanding to get a smooth quick time from it and is more than capable of smoking anything else in it's path, especially once the compounds have enough heat (grip). Fastest lap at London River: 1:09.171 (Q+), fully capable of at least a 1:07.3xx.

On the first few laps I found myself having to dial back the way I take the corners because the rear would just snap outwards and I'd be all over the place (and cussing like a sailor, too) but once there's enough heat in the tires...there's minimal nursing required. Although by no means should you become careless because if you treat it like crap, it's going to flip you off quick-fast.
 
Hi T12 - The JCW GTR is unlocked when you win the Modern A league championship on 12/13, but i do not think it can be upgraded or painted for some reason!!!👍

As usual we encourage constructive feedback so long as it's civilized, otherwise it will simply be disregarded. All tuning profiles will constantly be updated as certain demands will never remain the same, and we will be accepting individual requests and when making that request we ask that you be as specific as possible so the tune can meet your every expectation and thensome. User requests can be made available to everyone or specifically for the person requesting our services. Now, onto the good policy standards you all should be familiar with.

What goes into testing and how does Renown Tuning test vehicles?

Our official test track is London River, all of the RT-Spec vehicles are driven hard around every corner, whereby oversteer, understeer, body roll and braking are carefully monitored and evaluated according to such solutions as...

- How much countersteer is needed to maintain the vehicle's orientation?
- Is the overall braking distance satisfactory?
- Is the suspension capable of absorbing bumps without bottoming out as a result?
- Are the aerodynamic properties satisfactory without severely hindering the cars performance?

What constitutes as a 'good' lap time?

- Depending on the vehicle the times will vary from car to car. However, a general rule of thumb is a good lap around London River with any vehicle is typically less than 1 minute, 30 seconds.

How long does it take for a vehicle to qualify as being 'RT-Spec'?

- Again, it can vary from one car to the next. Some are a lot easier to tune than others, some only require minimalist effort while others require time and concentration. The standard waiting period for any tune to be stocked is within 24 hours, unless otherwise noted.

Does Renown Tuning offer drift tunes?

- We waited around long enough knowing someone would specialize in this; so, in short, yes, now we do offer drift tunes. [Currently under review]

What if I am unhappy with the tune?

- Simply alert me to whatever the problem may be and I will do my best to alleviate the problem as soon as possible.

What's the difference between a Track Special, Speed Special, RT Custom, and RT Exclusive tunes?

- First off, before the answer is addressed in full, the reason these tunes are divided amongst four sets is for ease of access and are purposely arranged as such. As for the differences, a Track differs from a Speed Special in the specific sense that the former has the sole intent of giving the best performance around a track, allowing the user to get around any track as fast as possible using as much speed and aerodynamic ability as possible. The latter focuses on getting the absolute of performance capability while maintaining overall stability. An RT Custom is that which has been specifically requested by a customer, and an RT Exclusive are the tunes of my own personal taste according to my own driving style, or at least to the extent that the game will allow.

Does Renown Tuning have any specific 'business' hours?

- In fact we do, Renown Tuning is available Monday through Thursday for all reasonable hours, and we are closed Friday through Sunday, however, this does not mean requests still cannot be filed within that time.

I'm currently having some problems with my controller settings and/or I can't seem to find a comfortable setting; what would you suggest?

- The AdCon (Adjust Control) settings I use are as follows...

The following is a lap indication index. This index specifies how the lap was carried out.

(S): Sloppy lap.
(Q): Quick lap.
(P): Practice lap.
(Q+): Quick lap; capable of more.
(Se): Series of quick laps.
(Se+): Series of quick laps; capable of more.
(N20): Should be self-explanatory. If it isn't, don't be ashamed to ask!
(Pr): Precision lap.

The same settings (sans the new clutch parameters) are the exact same settings I used in the original Shift, and as before while these are stated as the "recommended" settings, they are in no way, shape, or form imperative. Consider them a starting point if you want to experiment further. Over the course of time they're likely to be updated.

The clutch settings are left at their default values as I don't use a clutch.
