CrazyB says:

"See to really run these tracks proper with the PP restrictions is kind of a mess. You need cars at Daytona to run in the same top speed range (solo speed) like 210-220mph, and maybe for Group 2 only cars with aero for Indy because a Cougar will die out there for example and a Trans Cammer (no aero - can't turn or extreme camber & toe but then kill your tires to do less than 10 laps lol)."

I don't completely agree, as my lil' Camaro tore 🤬 up at both tracks, but alot of that does make sense. :trouble:

"Unfortunately as this is my favorite track and my only chance at winning against you guys."

Don't sell yourself short. My first season against these guys was nothing but 5th or worse finishes, with the exception of a 1st and 2nd at Tona. Now we are at the end of my second season with them, and I'm going into the last race battling for an overall podium position. We both have similar online racing history, just keep a sharp eye on how your competition in here is handling their cars, and you'll pick up pretty quick.

Mudd - "I don't completely agree, as my lil' Camaro tore up at both tracks, but alot of that does make sense. "

Yes the Camaro is grea at Indy. Any of these particular cars that are light and have aero are great for Indy. And yes YOU (Mudd - no one else I have met) are good with keeping the draft in the Camaro, not everyone. And that has to do with your NASCAR experience. But say if DriveTheGuard88 and I had hooked up and decided to go 240mph instead of 190-220 you would be saying a different story about the Camaro. But in that race I choose not to pit or bump draft. If it was a 10 lap race but same story you would have been off our tails because we would have drove connected non-stop for the race. I don't think you would have hung on for 10 laps at 240mph in the Camaro. But I may be wrong. You should prove me wrong sometime this week.

But even with perfectly matched / spec'd cars there is no perfect solution as in any race any can get wrecked or spun or loss draft. It's all racing. I don't think anyone of us here would intentionally ruin anyones race so with that being said the field for this particular track needs to be regulated by something or the other whether or not my theory of solo top speed is right or wrong. Or my theory of light cars with aero at Indy. Here...take a Cougar and drive around Indy and tell me how fun it is lol, it is a very very hairy situation. Try with a Mach 1 in front of your Cougar now, you will keep draft but eventually (and not to soon, like lap 8) your tires turn red and loose draft = no competition.

IMO to avoid all this regulations and shannanigans just keep road courses. It will keep GOOD & clean racers in this group instead of having guys pop in and out for the big name tracks. Keep it Real! Work with what you have. Like you said, Majority Rules. Well I think the majority of this group hates ovals.

Interesting stuff there. :tup:I personally don't see the other car makes making an appearance in this particular series, though. There is already plenty of mixed makes series out there, it's kinda what separates us. I think the only reason we feel the need to include the ovals is due to the lack of American track choices, but the world tour will take care of that issue.
Looking at those pic's makes me really wish we had an RM Stang in our line up.

That is some good stuff. I like the "over 2 liter class": Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Chrysler. "Under 2 liter class": All the Euro crap.

If anyone wants to run an "under 2 liter" 60's Fiat (cahilldomination). You would be running by yourself in your own class can go right ahead!

**Standings updated**

Oh boy, would ya look at that...

THIS THUNDER...IS MUDD'S CAMARO GUNNIN' STRAIT FOR THAT PODIUM!!!:trouble:

hello , about the race g1 yesterday I want to ask to the one that was telling me to go to the back more than 2 times ,why I had to go to the back was lap 6 , for this I loose my concentration and live the room

Ya I think kal was tellin u too bc u side swiped a few cars here n there thus compromising other racers positions. Its all in racing n keeping up with the integrity of the GTP ORL. I have raced a few times with u at daytona before coolracer in my 60s70s nascar series n u race clean. I think lag was the issue for u last night.

It was me saying it. And it was because you rammed my rear left corner mid turn at a much higher speed, pitting me and causing me to fall back to 2nd to last place. As stated before the race if you cause a wreck from contact, you are to retreat to the position before the contact was initiated. I fell a lap behind the leaders because I had no one around me and could not bump draft to run the 4-5 seconds faster a lap that everyone else was.

I did push you to help more speed not to damage your car , if I did sorry but is not the way to put me at the back when I was having a lot of fun fighting in the front and confuse me , nevermind

You didn't help my speed though, you helped me sideways into the wall and behind the pack. You never called out anything about bump drafting...and you don't bump draft in a turn.

Let's get a few things straight here.

The Daytona Race is done. I do not want to hear ANYTHING about it. I have several people who bounded me into the wall compromising my ability to perform but I do not honestly care. Stuff happens. End of Story. The only intentional act I saw has been dealt with fairly. The idea for the people who cause an incident to retreat into the back is a great idea in theory, but everybody does have the inclination to play innocent about this. Once again, No more Daytona Talk about who did what who hit who.

Trans Am had many cars run in it but all in different class. Much like a Le Mans race. I've known this. Far as I am concerned this is the American Car Trans Am series. I do not foresee that changing at any rate. We do not have enough people running to have several classes running at the same time, with different makes, and countries of origin. And to keep track of the scores in the classes is something I don't think even skel will want to do.

Plus, I do not want my sweet symphonic thunder interrupted by bzzz of some smaller motors.

The only reason why I allowed Daytona because I figured everyone wanted it. But now in hindsight I am going to go ahead and say Daytona Speedway will be dropped. Indy can stay.

I do wish for everyone to Submit a Track for next season. Read through the posts after this and try not to post one that as already been posted. I am looking for around 6-7 tracks.

I do say, that we Start with Daytona Road Course, than Hop across the globe headed East and do the tracks in a semi geographical order. That way when we come back around Laguna which is in California will be the end and complete the season.

Looking over the track lists, I realize there's quite a few that I've never ran our vintage muscle cars on. This should be interesting. I'm thinking we would be sticking with real-world and city tracks to go with our theme, and that would leave the 'originals' for another season theme. That said, Tokyo, Special Stage R5 Night, Madrid There's my vote's

Add: Monza should be in there, too, but I vote for no chicane. Perhaps Tsukuba, but that one is kinda short.

Oh yea, Sarthe, but again I hate those chicanes. I suppose that's part of the challenge, but I hate 'em.

I could probably keep editing track ideas in here all day...

Here's my idea of a Vintage Trans Am World Tour:

1. Daytona Road (U.S.)
2. Top Gear (U.K.)
3. Circuito de Madrid (Spain)
4. Circuit de la Sarthe (France)
5. Autodromo Nazionale Monza No Chicane (Italy)
6. Nürburgring GP/D (Germany)
7. Suzuka East (Japan)
8. Laguna Seca Raceway (U.S.)

And I honestly think these courses are too narrow for these cars:
Cote d’Azur
London
Rome

That actually looks really good to me. But I'm gonna have to install a TomTom in my muscle car, I get lost every time I drive Top Gear.:dunce:

LOL Me too, one time in a race I kept making the same right turn and got lapped and was like hey....:dunce:

I was looking at this, even with the arrows I'm still confused LOL

I'm not a huge fan of Sarth & Monza, just for the fact it's too easy to short cut, (purposely and accidentily). But then again, I think most of us here are pretty honest. I don't think anyone wants to see Top Gear Test Track.

Suzuka (full size) for Japan, or Fuji GT
Madrid (Probably the most under-rated city track)
Nurburgring GP/F or D
we still need Indy Road, Daytona Road, & Laguna for courses of course.

I also would like to run just a little bit more laps in G1. Try to make it a one stop race for everyone.

Oh, and Kal, I was joking earlier about letting people run an "under 2 liter class".

I am one for Top Gear Track, I like it and no how it runs. No hard once you get the line down. Maybe we can make that track the wild card track next season perhaps?

Like Crazy's list, that is what I had in mind and it seems in geo-order as well.

We can do more laps in G1 if wanted. Although we will have to start earlier or change the timing. Perhaps Run G II on Sat evenings and G I on Sunday and have alot of laps per each (atleast a hour race each track?)

It is really up to you guys, I realize we all have stuff to do in life and that is why I tried to keep things short and easy to do. But if we all want more laps more challenge and have beads of sweat and sore hands after a race, I am all for it.

There's no pit stops @ Top Gear btw, and figure 8 tracks are for demo derbys. It's not a real track, and it's not a real show either.
Oh, and guys, I got yellow lighted AGAIN yesterday. I should have it fixed by today. However, the condition of it's condition is getting worse. Good news is, I found a tool that should get the job done a little faster.

The list looks pretty good, posable changes I see are that Monza and Sarthe seem very similar, perhaps only use one of them. I don't care for Top Gear, but that's due to complete lack of use. I'm sure it would grow on me if I start practicing there. I agree Suzuka should be full course. I also like the thought of using Indy, though not sure if including three home tracks really fit in the whole idea. I do like the short Nurb tracks, honestly dread driving the long ones, but I suppose you guys could talk me into it for the sake of competition.

As far as more laps, I'm the worst offender of the 'no pit' strategy, and even on my best tracks this season, I came within a couple laps of complete tire failure. If we added 5 laps, I'm pretty certain no one could push it that far. We could knock just a couple laps off G2 to make up for time if needed.

Could just make it mandatory one pit minimum, I suppose...

Mandatory pit is the way to go. It can be done at anytime, but required.

Too many US tracks if this is supposed to be a World Tour. Why not just Laguna at the end and start at Indy(outside)?

All are great ideas, mandatory pit should work. I would like doing G2 Sat night & G1 Sunday with more laps for each. I also like the Restrictions for boths groups and think those should remain the same. And maybe use penalties on top gear so we ghost thru the figure 8. I don't know if that works there though.

The "idea" of splitting the groups to two nights sounds great, but I really don't think I can commit to two nights in a row, especially during summer. I'm online often enough, but I have a hard time being online at specific times during the summer months.

Splitting up the groups into 2 nights is no good. As much as I would like to spend my entire weekend indoors playing video games, that will not likely happen. I think the overall length of the night is good right now running both classes. Just adding a few laps won't hurt. Or just do manditory pits. Or, just leave it as is. we'll be running several new tracks, so who knows what the pit window will be. If there is one.

So, for top gear, turn penalties on, and tire wear & fuel consumption off too?

"So, for top gear, turn penalties on, and tire wear & fuel consumption off too?"

This is making Top Gear sound uglier to me...

I'm fine with our regulations and timelines just how they are. I also have no objections to a couple extra laps, or manditory pits, so I guess more racers need to voice their opinions on those topics.

Yea Top Gear is starting to sound more like a specialty track kind of like Daytona, maybe we skip the U.K.? We did sail across the ocean away from there for a reason maybe it was this LOL. We can add another Japanese or American Track as that's where most of tracks come from.

Yes, this is also why we threw their tea into the Boston Harbor.

This is a primarily an American even with American cars. Why not do 3 American tracks and 5 over seas?
