I hate OCD, every time I want to cross the road I have to look at my shoes three times and wait for a worm to cross my path.
Only kidding,,,
I can see the point of both sides of the arguments, and agree, in part, to both.
I do get a sort of "warm & fuzzy" feeling when I take my GTR Concept into a room, as I invariably get the "wow, how did you get that" comments, along with "what the hell is it?", because it's in silver chrome. But, I purchased it in the UCD and have no problems in telling people that. It's rarity comes from the fact that they've passed it up for the more popular, and more readilly available, GTR's etc. Even better when I beat them with it in a drag race, and then start offering trades etc.
If the prize cars were a completely different livery to those that could be purchased, or traded, then the sense or rarity would be much greater. On the other hand, it's one thing to own, lets say for example, an Audi R8 LMS Team Playstation model, but quite another to actually drive it on the limit and be competitive.
(Possibly a poor choice car as an example, but you'll probably get my meaning)
As stated many times across the boards, no car is truly rare in this game, in so much that it's in the game for all to acquire. If I've bought a particular car, or won it in a race event, chances are that it'll have plenty of miles on it before it shows up in the OCD. I'll have fine tuned all the options and become at ease with its many flaws, so if it turns up I get to put all that knowledge into a completely new, and more powerful, car. The rarity I enjoy online from that is watching all the noobs who've just bought it from the OCD disappearing from my rear view, or spin off into the green stuff on the first corner.
If you want to have the rarest car in the room, take a stock Fiat 500 in Lexus Pink into a drag room. You'll still lose, but the focal point of the room will be you, as you get push-driven up to 200+mph!
