About Special Stage Route X Oval

- The one straight section is 12km.
- The total length is 30km.

It will surely allow you to verify the top speed of Red Bull X machines. :)

30KM! DAMN! 18.6 Miles!

Any word on online drag racing? Is that a skid pad in the screen shot? Anything else?...Pretty please? :)

How do you know this stuff? Too bad "Best New Member" award was already given, no offense Shem W3HS ;).

You just called it "Special Stage Route X Oval"...Does that mean there are different variations?

Tell you what... if we don't get word of any proper drag racing with this deal, I will REALLY begin a push for drag racing in Gran Turismo. I am NOT counting the Vegas strip in GT4 as a drag strip. Proper drag racing on a proper drag venue (or do it how Forza 3 does it) has been something I wouldn't mind since seeing the two HKS Drag Cars in GT2.

I always want real courses but don't you guys think that the main reason they don't have real course DLC's is because licensing issues with the tracks?

Stavelot
Spa says no.

I know obviously. Besides that like Zandvoort, Paul Ricard, Portimao, Zolder, etc. and why they can add in real world karting circuits like La Conca, and Genk. Maybe even Kerpen! I don't know why.

So, he said 12km straight.

Assuming that is an oval, and has two straights of 12km each, that gives us 24km. Which means if it's an oval, the banked turns have to be 3km long each.

Edit: For reference, GT3's Test Course was 10km in total.

IM guessing SSRX will be like SSR7. Long straights, and a few turns. Not really good for racing, in my opinion.

Finally accurate testing, having to use other tracks and a stop watch was a bit of a farce.

Also a main (or 2) straight of nigh on 8 miles is pretty immense.

30km is sick. It for sure will be boring to race, but for tests it's perfect. Also when i saw screens I thought that whole scenery is a little over the top. Ship yard, airstrip, huge weird tower, windmills, huge dish, only space ship was missing ;). But with that lenght of the track it can be really interesting :)
I can imagine huge amount of awesome photos just after dlc release :)

hey at least it wont look as bland as Driving Park Test Track :D i really hope they'll have a Gymkhana style layout for us to hoon about like the Benchmark Highspeed Ring Layout A from Forza, love the track, love the features, hate that physics engine

You've gotten me even more excited. For some reason, I only remembered the shipyard (that's such a weird word).

"The only speed test that is included in the pack, "Special Stage Route Oval X" is between 12km (7.4mi) straight on one side alone, boasts a total length 30km (18.6mi), is ideal for validating the performance of machines with a maximum speed limit, such as Red Bull X2010."

Why hasn't this been posted on GTP's home page? :grumpy:

Thanks a lot for replying with this news in another thread. This is great, unexpected news that just brightened up my night. I was getting a bit sleepy.

SSRX will be likely not much longer than 10-12 Km.
SHIRAKAWA, way off for once. lol

Woah...
Haha this is going to be nuts. Can't wait to go for a lap around it in my Subaru 360. :sly:

It feels awkwardly quiet. I feel completely uneasy. Like how Pavlov drools a lot if he doesn't get the treat. News like this coming sort of late at night, and there hasn't even been a full page of replies about it, yet. In two hours....

^ I think after SSRX, I'm having a gut feeling that Silverstone would be the next real track to be DLC'd. And I'm might be guessing that...

1st DLC
- real (Spa) & original (Kart Space series)

2nd DLC
- original (SSRX w/ variations?)

?3rd DLC?
- real (Silverstone or Motgei or Infineon) & original (???)

?4th DLC?
- original (???) / real (???)

^ I may be wrong though... ;)

I've been thinking the same thing, I've had more talk on psn about the new new's than what is appearing on GTP. Definitely a first.

Actually, there's a thread that has a bit more replies, but not by much.

It's just that it's late and most people who frequent GTP are American. About an hour, I guess maybe two, there will be way more people. You and I are in the same time zone, if not by one hour.

I figured most were european but alas that's not the discussion. With 745 people currently viewing the GT5 forum (185 registered) I just expect people voicing their opinion's. Thank's for the link, I've been there too. Tonight is so slow I literally have time to read everything .

I think there are not much less users from Europe on GTP than from America, the most people in Europe either work, are at school (or still asleep ^^).

Although the 30km are quite long, I'm pretty excited about Route X, because I always wanted a longer testing track in GT4. Yippie!
