Is it just me or does that seem fake? I have heard and read interviews with Yamauchi before, and that current one you posted is not his usual way of talking etc..

Eastley. About 10 different sites and magazines sent people to Sonys 3Rooms across Wednesday and Thursday.

What you need to remember is that Kazunori Yamauchi will have been asked the same questions so many times over the past week that both he and his interpreter will be pretty fed up of giving the same answers.

Also, after 10 years, his command and understanding of the English language will have improved a lot (even if his ability to speak it fluently is still slightly off) and so the way he speaks and the responses he gives will have changed.

Take a look at this interview shortly after the release of GT4 and you can see some of the progression made, but the overall style of conversation is essentially the same. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=127373

CVG, Next-Gen.biz and OPM (Official UK Playstation Magazine) are all sourses that have always (In CVG and OPMs cases over 10 years of PS games) prided themselves on the accuracy of their information.

So instead of making [Gran Turismo for Boys] a separate game, it will come as a simplified mode within GT5?

Yamauchi: Yes.

I almost laughed out loud when I read that and thought to myself, "that's essentially what standard mode is."

Yamauchi: The Japanese version was updated to match the UK version on the day of the UK release, so they are now the same. And the US version that's coming out is going to be pretty much the same as the UK version.

This seems to suggest that there will be nothing new other than an extra few cars. I was kind of hoping for another track. ):

The GT series is now in its fifth iteration and running on ultra-high-performance hardware. How close would you say GT5 is to real life now?

Yamauchi: That's a really difficult question to answer, because there are so many more fun aspects of a car that's not just limited to driving. I hope that we've covered maybe half of the attractions of a real car, but there's still so much more to it.

Gran Turismo 6: The Real Dashboard Simulator (:

I wonder what other fun aspects of a car he has in mind here.

Good find! 👍

It's all good, I understand how the man can be fed up with interviews, lol.

His english is just getting lazy, maybe he is becoming Australian!!!

Don't think he can speak English.

Maybe the interpreter's Australian. :sly:

Doh!! Forgot he don't speak English, and the voice I heard when I seen a video of him talking was an interpreters.. Totally skipped my mind.

OMG this is awesome, I dunno why he hasn't learnt english, since so many people who interview him are.

yeah,i was also expecting he;ll make a comment about the new f1 game and such....wasn't that said yesterday??
spyrrari.

Kazunori Yamauchi: The F2007 is currently I think the most precise simulation of an F1 car in existence, and I think it's something that everyone should try out. We've had to implement a lot of new physics into the game, and a lot of mechanisms that we had left out before that we had to add to simulate the car properly, and it's something we're looking forward to having everyone experience. As for F1, of course we've always wanted to add more F1 cars, and to make an F1 game, but we haven't made any movement to acquiring the license, so there's no set timeline for it yet, but it's something we're looking at

:grumpy:

So this Fall update will be the end of GT5: P updates from what he said to IGN. Interesting.

Oh, and a London Long :)👍

its only 11 cars to make :p and couple of circuits , and they can make them so they can use them in gt5 too , just an idea 💡

and lots of ppl would buy it... maybe bernie wants to much $$$? :grumpy:

jep,and they cannot ask max mosley for it:ouch:
lol.

i think the most important and inspiring quote out of all these interviews is

Kazunori Yamauchi: I know there are a lot of titles out there, and some of these do things we haven't done yet. But what we're trying to do is perfect every part of what we have so far, and then move on to the next part which we will perfect, and we're doing this in steps, and we'd like people to look forward to those steps.

:bowdown::bowdown:

Nice Find
Shouldn't GT for boys be titled GT for kids?
seems a little biased don't you think?

IGN Interview
Yamauchi-san, no doubt disappointed that real life isn't as pretty as Gran Turismo.

I'm hoping we'll see both Rome courses and Grindelwald come back at some point in GT5's lifetime. That and with the newer, more impressive visuals, we're going to need the ability to take pictures of our beautiful cars. :sly:

Taking pictures is one of the funnest parts of GT4 next to actually driving. I can't imagine it not being in gt5.

WTF is GT for boys? a little kids racing game with softened down physics and goofy cars?

someone should ask him that.

Is it just me... or is anyone else getting kind of worried that they arent going to make a full GT5, instead, keep "patching" Prologue?

I hope they don't take this route. It spoils the whole freshness of getting a full game and having new challenges and features to explore and use. I really hope they don't get caught up in some silly idea of turning GT5 Prologue into GT5. Prologue is out... put your heads down and tails up and forget it and make a full blown feature-full GT5.

The Fall update is meant to be huge so maybe it will have a lot of cars etc or maybe upgrade to the full game> Its just speculation on my behalf. Anyway if the update is that huge I hope it will be downloadable from the PSN store instead of the patching process that is flawed. It will make things easier.

Eurogamer: The online play modes you've provided in Prologue are pretty simple compared to what other racing games do - is improving that a big focus for you?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Yes, there'll be a lot of features added to that. We'll be adding a lot of the necessities, like being able to form your own car clubs within the game, or making racing teams in the game. Things like that, where the users can actually interface with each other, are something that we'll be adding.

Racing teams eh?
