I would buy this on release day. What makes it awesome is that all of the costumes will be importable! I also can't wait to see what tools we can use when we play a level(like the grappling hook).

GAME... OF... THE... YEAR.

This game exceeds the first one in so many ways. No brainer this game.

Its amazing how a 2min trailer can reveal so many possibilities. Day 1 buy for me. I never thought I'd say this being a Wisconsin resident but bring on Winter!!

I am so excited for this game. This is one of few games I know I want well before it even comes out, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. What's cool is that all the clever minigame and techy levels from the first game seem to have inspired this version. If no one spent the time to make those great levels, this sequel might not be all that interesting.

I feel so happy right now. I mean I feel like a little kid who has gotten his first Lego set during Christmas! As I said before I would instantly buy this on day 1 or better yet preorder it!

Yes and what they did was make it easier to make those things while freeing up system resources. the micro chip system alone saves 15-20% of the available resources i would guess not including other additions. things that took many triggers and switches to make things work in LBP now takes one programed microchip. I dont know what that means but thats what the dev said.

It sounds like it carries over, though I'm sure new DLC will be much more interesting anyway.

What happens to DLC you've bought i wonder...
Would they carry them over or make you buy more things??

You would be able to carry them over.

And these new one is too big to have just been a DLC, MM revamped the game except from the graphics (minor tweaking)

The trailer is great. I am really excited about this game. I haven't played LBP in while but seeing this makes me want to fire it uo again. Glad to see that all of the created levels will carry over.

I am freaking out, I heard the rumor and now it's reality. It is the greatest game in the world for little kids. The logic that the game uses teaches the kids so much. My kid is going to freak out. We have been building things but haven't posted a level yet, but the levels that are out now are just mind blowing. if all video games had that kind of clean, funny, smart, logical, and musical open architechure that LBP has, video games would be embraced so many more people. What a great day.........

The level creator is definitely too complex for kids, so you cant really say is a game for kids, am 21 and i gladly play the game.

Recently watched the trailer, looks stunning. Enjoyed the original game so I am definitely going to pick up this.

All I was saying was the aspects of the game that allow the kids to create something that never was and play with something that they created spurs them on to dive in deaper and learn the logic of the game. I show my kid things and then he does it or we do it together so the ability to have such a great teaching platform is the greatest gift for a dad to show the little ones things from programing to pysics to how music is as much timing as tone.

Wouldn't that apply to anyone you show the game to? I'm pretty sure my gf would have no clue on how build a level without showing her how to use it, same for grandma and grandpa :)

No, it's definitely not. My kids (5yr daughter & 7yr son) both love making levels in LBP. Yeah, they aren't polished amazing gameplay levels, but they love making them, and it really feeds their creativity while at the same time it has even taught them some basic engineering skills. Frankly, in some ways they are better at making levels than either my wife or I. :O

My nephews (ages 8-14) also have had no problems making levels, and lots of their friends make levels as well.

There are over 2 million published levels, I suspect a very decent percentage of them were made by kids under 18 who actually have time to make levels.

That said, it's nice to hear that LBP2 will now have keyboard and mouse support for editing levels, so we old school adults may find it a good deal easier and certainly more efficient to work with. 👍
