are you serious?? you dont change batteries in a electric car, you re-charge the batteries that already is in the car.

I think you missed his point. Rechrging is fine when you have a few hours to spare, but how would you recharge the batteries in the 30 seconds to a minute that a sportscar pitstop takes? For racing, it would be much quicker to have the batteries in a removable module that you slot out, and insert a new (fully charged) module.
 
They have been making those for years. Its called a "Golf Cart".:dopey:

I saw a program on TV about a new battery system for electrics. You go thru what looks like a car wash bay and in about a minute you have exchanged your dead batteries for ones with a fresh charge and are on your way. It's the only way I think many could own an all electric car.
 
I'm so sure their going to release a DLC soon!

The track looks like the test oval in GT1-GT4. Itt really lookes like a car modeled by PD.

Hmm... too right it looks like PD Modeling. Sweet car as well! Hope that thing turns up in GT5! Along with the Toyota FT-86 II.
 
I would love to see that car in the next DLC. Bring on the HYBRIDS!

rom expierience with hobby RC cars, you can just change the batteries out with a extra rechargable battery. It would be a great idea electric car manufacturers made changing batteries easier, than when racing pit stops can be faster and would make it easier to drivew an electric car on the go, insteadof charge stations have stations where you can change out batteries.
 
It does look like PD's style, not just the graphics but the way the camera/view moves as well.
 
Yeah i think the question here is not whether it's PD creation because it certainly looks that way. The question is when we will see it in game ?

I'm not sure if you know how much these batteries weigh. I believe the Leaf's battery weighs around 650lbs, it's not something you can just swap in a pit stop regardless of how easy it is to access them.

edit: 660lbs for the Leaf battery pack.

If they stick them in an easier to reach place it could be done, but it'd certainly be longer than fuel fill ups. Given the range of the Leaf under non-race conditions I'd guess the cars would spend as much time in the pits as on the track. :)
 
I read on engadget it can only last 22 minutes when racing.
 
I've changed batteries that weighed well over 300 pounds on forklifts in under a minute. I'm sure a race team could perfect it and make the switch very quick.
