I'm sorry guy's but it was best I left early tonight. I had a crappy day as it was dealing with a div issue, so I wasn't the happiest SNAIL tonight to start with. Then to get knocked around like I did at Rome was just making me more angry so the best thing to do was just call it a night. Certainly not the way I wanted to start things off with this series, and those that know me, know this is not my usual way by any means.

Yeah it sucked when I saw you opted out..! D.P I am gunna have to say all that ranting about Aero kinda threw me off as well.. It was his first practice of his first season!! lol Pump your brakes yo!! Its all good.. You know the procedure. If that were a race and all that stuff you mentioned happened to you then proceed to the next step!! I don't know 1 person in this league that has ill intentions!!. That's just my opinion and observation! 👍 But good practice though!! It sucks that the only track I know is Fuji.. lol Im just a blind squirrel on those other ones!! Sorry to whoever I might of got in the way of!! Cant wait till Fuji..!! that's gonna be a good race I think? See most y'all next week.!! Prob. sooner!
Cheers

Good morning guys

Sounds like it was an interesting night. One of the reasons for the shakedown event is to get a feel for the cars in traffic and with each other. It sounds like some of the teams body shops will be busy this week getting ready for the official start of the season. Just a reminder, that if you are new to the series and primarily run on Sundays, this format is much different. On Sunday, you only have 10 mins to make your way to the front whereas on Wed, the races are 40 mins long so there is plenty of time. Additionally, and this goes out to everyone, lets remember to race each other cleanly and respectfully like we always do in the RCS. Yes there is the occasional bump/mistake but I know none of it is intentional.

Since I missed the shakedown race, I plan to run some practice laps on Monday and Tuesday if anyone is interested in turning some laps before we kick this off for real. When we closer, I'll post the times I plan to be online.

Lots of unfamiliarity last nite, with the car, tracks, and racers, hence the shakedown. It did open a few eyes, mainly mine that I really need to get on the tracks more with the car to nail down my braking points and get a lot more comfortable with what I can do with the car in traffic. I expect the actual races this season to be much better than last nites outing as it usually is.

All this right here is why I love this series. Everyone own up and correct it. I watched the replays and it was a real eye-opener as well. I wouldn't say anything if it was a one or two episode thing, but every PRACTICE race. Is it really worth a win if you lose the respect of everyone on the track? I'm not going to rant about it because this is Grims series and I don't want to diminish the high standards that he expects from us all.

BTW, those new camera setting in replay are absolutely amazing for catching what a driver is actually looking at and responding to.

I enjoyed the back and forth duels we had from time to time last night. Like me, just unfamiliar with the little things with the tracks. I thought you ran good.

last night we discussed changing to Suzuka 2014 course. As we were told the event had already been schld for the old course and the only way to consider a change of venue was to ask.

So I am asking, what are the chances we can use the new course?

By the way , last night was fun. Many close battles. That car handles very well and the tire wear is great. I had to check to verify if the settings were on very fast wear. Look forward to the series.

I plan to make the post about the track shortly. Glad you had a good time

I definitely was pushing a bit hard last night. Too hard at time. I didn't realize it was his first night with the series. That must have been scary for him against all of us hahaha

Nothing he hasn't seen before on Sunday night. He was expecting cleaner...which he did not get.

I hope he gets better racecraft from certain racers next week.

Scared?? Really man!? It wasn't his first race! Lol.. I think it was more of how you went off on a rant, calling people out..! Pretty much the same reason I exited early.. I didn't want to get into a typing battle and have everyone else have to read or hear about it. So I left out of respect to Grims leauge and everyone else that was there! Or maybe I was scared as well!!:nervous: Bahaha

Regardless if they are new to the series or not, no one should feel they need to leave the lobby because of discussions before, between or after races. If you feel there was an issue with someones racecraft, there is a specific process to follow. I trust this will be then end of this discussion.

I am going to quote myself for @aerolite because I say so much cool stuff that I just can't hear myself enough :)

This series is so much cleaner and respectful, on the whole, than Sunday night racing. There are some quality racers from all skill levels here. Don't let one bad apple experience spoil the bunch. I think you will be impressed come Wednesday :)

Dang that was some crazy awesome racing tonight. I don't think you will find a cleaner series. Especially when you factor in the number of miles we run each night and how many of those miles are spent in close proximity to other racers.

Great job to everyone. Can't wait to come back next season.

Guys, I still have every intention of showing up to race on Wed and I'm looking forward to it. I've been racing in SNAIL for seven months now and have seen alot! I strive to be a clean and respectful racer and have never had an IR filed against me. I have never once left a race night either, the other night was just a practice so it was no big deal to step away, I know what happened there hopefully will not repeat itself again. I realize I am slower than most of you in this league but racing against you guys will just make me that much better.
Aero (Steve)

I think we have some more d1 drivers and d2. Shakedown was battle after battle

And GGG! On the shakedown we tested the old Suzuka and uPDATED version... And we had a few guys that wanted to race the updated version. It's way better the angles very fun than the old!! I know you already have it on the schedule...... And done testing on it.

Suzuka is one of Parcells favorite tracks and we ran the new version Thursday night. I wasn't the only one who felt that, overall, the track became just a tad bit easier. The Degner curve(s) and hairpin in particularly seemed much more forgiving.

This is not to suggest a preference for either just some general feedback to chew on.

Thanks guys. I plan to run a test session to make sure the fuel/tireware consumption is similar to the old version for the 40 mins. Once I do that, I'll post the decision. Thanks

I can see what your saying but that track doesn't exist anymore!! Lol but it's more real life. The angles much much better

I found it slightly harder to find my braking markers on the newer track. But the newer pavement seemed grippier.

The newer track seemed more visually distracting as far as all the new landscaping and super green grass was concerned.

Nothing different as far as drivability and lines are concerned. I like both but wouldn't recommend changing until everyone put in some time there.

As much as I don't want to post this, due to a very busy schedule I'm stepping away from competition for a little while. I'll hopefully be back by maybe Feburary if there are spots available at that time. It's been great racing with you guys. I'll hopefully see you all again.

hey jvick. It's been great racing with you on the track. I'll move you to part time for this season. Let me know when you are ready to get back on the track.

just a reminder that I will be posting the pre-race report tonight. Once I do, the top 10 from season 4 will need to confirm entry be 8:00pm est on race day.

That's disapointing to hear jvick. You are a fast driver and always competitive. Hope to see you around sometime again soon.

How was your vacation Grimm?

Great racing with you James.. I am on hiatus myself until next year, so hope to see you on track again when you return.
Best wishes in all your endeavors.

Oh man I heard those were painful. Hope you get it taken care of and back on your feet! ;)
Gonna miss ole JVick and his wipers on the track, good racing with ya dude and look forward to seeing you back on the track.

Tonight I have to start figuring out how many laps tires and fuel lasts to start preparing a strategy with one single goal in mind.....
