Agreed, that stupid 200m front is killing me! If I could curve it or something that would be fine. I'll have to dabble with 8m. I thought 6 was scary narrow, at least for us average sim guys.

Knowing that PD has people on the forum, I wonder how they all are feeling right now. There seems to be a weird mix of "its crishtmas!!!!" mixed with "and this is what you got me?" I wonder if we will see some updates addressing some of those concerns people are having.
I'm sad that every track has to be a circuit, no point to point stages. Not a fan of not being able to control elevation either, or track width by section. But, that said. I do like this, a lot. They are almost there with it. Just need maybe another track, specifically for karting, that will allow tighter, smaller tracks, and a speedway option. Maybe even with a dirt track option. Some tweaks, and the CM will be one of PDs best ideas.

I'm not too bothered by the lack of elevation control. Realistically, I figure track designers take the natural elevation into account when they design, so there's a bit of "simulation" involved here as well. I wouldn't mind a better look at the topography of the area though. That would eliminate a lot of the "guess & check" work.

I didn't realize right away that I could change from metric to imperial. My track is nearly 40ft wide. Mid-Ohio is a minimum of 40 ft. If like to try my track out with a Miata or something. Maybe make a flatter version for karts?...

Sure, we can do some track trading! I am going to run some stages on Dirt Rally after school. I'm off work tomorrow so I'll probably spend the rest of the night messing with the CM after that. All my Michigan racers, we will have Waterford Hill, the Belle Isle Grand Prix track and MIS. Any tracks I am missing?

Maybe they just should have licenced "Rollercoaster Tycoon" as a track builder...

That would be pretty cool actually. Though, at that point, I am not sure a tablet would be a great medium for the CM.

I've got six different ovals built. I will be testing and tweaking them tomorrow. My eyes are a little fried after working on the iPad. They range from .94 miles and flat with tight corners to 1.99 miles high banked with long sweeping corners. I have one that I will try and make into a Darlington type course and a couple of tri-ovals of different size and banking. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use. My only real complaint is the fixed distance of the start/finish straight.

I'm thinking a 1.5 mile wth an Indy Speedway layout is going to possible and might make for some good Rocket racing.

When is the oval league starting up? I'd put a hard drive in my PS3 for that.

The track width is annoyingly important when it comes to getting the tight corners right, if only we could adjust width by section like in GT5...

@RobbiefromBC I gave it a shot trying to get Mission Raceway closer to the right length. It's still too long, but now it's also very narrow lol... But it's 1.8mi which is a lot closer to the 1.35mi length of the real thing. The straight is just too long and takes up too much space...

It should be on my page now.
Yeah, unfortunately you cannot replicate the elevation changes, or track width by section. My research of VIR said track width varied from 33ft to 36ft, so I decided to go with the wider.

Well, it's impossible to create a to scale Mission Raceway, but my very rough recreation is up on my community page
I loved it! I haven't taken my wheel out yet so I'm testing these tracks with the BRZ GT300. I can imagine they'll be way more fun with the wheel and a higher powered car.

Have you guys heard about the updated sounds thread? Apparently the Audi R8 4.2 sounds even better now

Yesterday was spent building tracks. Today will be spent testing and tweaking those tracks. I'll get the thread up in the next couple of days to discuss other details.

There will be three classes running separate races back to back to back on race nights. There will be a "hobby stock" class which will be a no tuning one make. There will be a "limited late model" which will be a no tuning multiple make with a horse power cap. There will be a "late model" which will be full tuning multiple make with HP, PP, KG, and other general restrictions.

There are still some details to work out on the cars and that can be discussed among those racing the series once the thread is up.

Umm yes you can. I've been on all morning on created tracks.
How? When I went to make a room it won't let me use one of the sample tracks. Nevermind. I went back and it only shows the ones I downloaded from friends. Booooo.

Is there really no chance of user created tracks being used in SNAIL?

@JLBowler An idea for you is to either make a thread with popular user created tracks (which then no one will have disadvantages for not knowing the track. Or a PSN account with all the downloaded tracks shared on their profile for easier access.

I have not been able to import my pictures or GPX files yet. So, is there someone that can create this track and share with me? It is the Imola track in Italy - one of my all time favourites, but also the one with the unfortunate fatal accident of Ayrton Senna. The chicanes in the left hander curve and before the first hairpin was installed shortly after his accident.

That would be lovely to have. I saw someone made Abu Dhabi so lots of street circuits and the like are probably easy to recreate.

No tablet, no problem. Was able to install ANDY and create tracks on my laptop. @DesertPenguin09 you do have a laptop, correct?

Manual for Andy OS on Windows:
- Download Andy, the friendly Android simulator: http://www.andyroid.net/
- Install it like any other program (the needed virtual machine is included).
- Start it* and once it's booted, log-in with your Google Account or make a new one.
- Go into the Play Store, search for the app and install it.
- Follow the instructions and everything should work.

*If Andy won't start, make sure you have "Virtualization" enabled in your BIOS!

GPX files ? Beyond my knowledge. Lets ask the person, @G.T.Ace who gave us the above instructions.

GT Ace can you help with GPX files?

Division 4 Data has been completed. Congratulations to JBowler for the overall win.

JBowler has the most points and wins for the Division for the September season followed by WideEyedDriver and Die Birdy Die. Great racing gentlemen.

On Sundays, my guess is a big no. Frankly, I don't think it has anything to do with the designer having an advantage either. Everybody always get's a solid 4 or 5 days to pound out practice. The hardcore perfectionists will find the speed no-matter. The real issue is stability and it's already obvious from various peoples' accounts that user created tracks may have issues. Remember how much work it took for even a hint of a chance to get Bathurst on the list?? I think you'll see user created tracks in SNAIL, just not for official Sunday events. But that's none of my business... :)

It makes perfect sense to see them on a Monday since there's no practice or notice ahead of time.

I found someone named gurizzi that has very close replicas of many tracks.

-Road America
-Ren0-Fernley Raceway
-Sears Point
-Sebring International
-Montreal Canadian Grand Prix
-Bahrain GP
-Yas Marina Abu Dhabi

He didn't make them all but they're really good.
