@aerolite @Mike Lobban
I’m interested to drive on Monday nights (if I can figure out how :). Just got PC2 for super deal, $20 on PSN. Unfortunately, I feel like a new born trying to navigate it. Are the poorsches in this new $10 DLC?

Hi Rob, good to see ya! Yes they are in the DLC. If you pay for the season pass then you get all the DLC for free IIRC. We're a nice, friendly, patient bunch, happy to help you along. Unless you're faster than us, then you need to go somewhere else. The PCars navigation is a bit different but not bad once you get used to it.

Do you have the turbo glitch? I haven’t run the 959 yet, but Aero mentioned that the 911 was slower when fixed. Last night after the tires warmed up I was hitting 1:43.0’s...

Less talent in my tank. I took the 911 for five laps and it was slower than what I've been doing in the 959. But the 51s are what I've been able to do with the turbo 'fixed', before it was 57s.

I actually hit a 54.9 without the turbo. Now I can't do a clean lap to get a time . Fortunately I've got the turbo working. Unfortunately - I have to relearn how to drive the car. I'm still very excited to return to racing this Monday night. Like, SUPER EXCITED!!! I've missed this motley crew.

And, I treated myself to a little welcome back present ;).

OK. Bought the season pass, so I see this Monday’s cars needed but don’t see Leipzig track in custom event or online event. Help please! Also what view do most use to drive? I’m used to GT6 & GTS bumper (but only because of the lack of options & adjustability) but I really like the helmet view in PC2.

I think the track is named Porche Leipzig. Try that and see. (If it's the track name you're talking about).

Hey Rob, we would be glad to have you, long time since we raced in GT6 together! Just read thru the first few posts if you haven't already. I will add you to the drivers list for Monday. Make sure you send Mike and I a FR.

Do you have the turbo glitch? I haven’t run the 959 yet, but Aero mentioned that the 911 was slower when fixed. Last night after the tires warmed up I was hitting 1:43.0’s...
Well it was slower when me and Mike were running against each other. In the 959 I went from '52's without turbo to low '49's with it. But come to think about it, was pretty even with Sgeti when he was in 911 but I know he didn't have it dialed in yet. It will be an interesting night!

Like David said, it's called Porsche Liepzig..........should be in your track list.
I used to race in hood and roof view until about half way through PCars1 and changed to Helmet cam to be more realistic. Have been just helmet cam in PCars2 now, so many available adjustments to get it just how you want. Some cars the view is tough but I just deal with it. Going back to another view just feels so wrong now!

I always wanted to do cockpit view in GT, but it just wasn't good so I always ran bumper. I really like the helmet view in this game - they've done a great job on it. You can adjust the 'turn to apex' setting and some others @aerolite posted a good article about two months ago regarding making some other adjustments that enhance the feeling of speed changes. Also there is a setting where you can turn your coach on so that he tells you things about other cars like 'one length behind'. 'on your left' etc. Combined with the indicator errors it really helps situational awareness for the helmet view.
I'll look up the settings I've mentioned and message the info to you in a while.

Congrats - Which wheel is that!? My G29 is OK, but you guys and your fancy schmancy tech are giving me wheel envy. That and the fact I had to clean out my throttle again the other day due to sticking are making me keep my eyes open on this stuff. Might have to start working overtime though to keep up with the Lobans...
Looks like it has a chrome shifter, yes? That's one thing I absolutely want to continue with.

It's still my T300 base, but they introduced a new Sparco rim. It's a 1:1 scale replica. 13 inch diameter. I love it so far.

Well I hope it doesn't change the 908, that little cutie is a dream to drive!
The 917/10 is the only I've noticed a big boost-kick, and it's pretty manageble. The 959 does seem to be lacking ooomph though.

These cars all seem fun and are the best time I've ever had driving Porsches in a sim. IMO the GT6 Porsches were just waaayy too tail happy
I haven't driven the 908 yet but sure looking forward to it.
Oh o I just read the group b car is all wheel drive??... sh.t . That bums me out. And I won't have practice time, driving back from Edmonton tomorrow, should be home in time for race.
Oh and time change as well.... hmmmmm. I still think I can make it in time.

Yup, AWD. Like driving a truck. Soften the front roll bar and lower the preload - it makes the car actually turn...

@TomMang_68 - it would be great to see ya Monday!

One thing to note David, is that these Porsche’s are rear engined cars. That means the weight balance is focused more towards the rear of the car, and will have a tendency to slide around quite a bit. Quite a famous characteristic of the Porsche cars... when the back end starts to slip out the normal reaction for almost everyone is to lift off the throttle, but with these cars you want to apply more throttle to get the back end to squat down and power out of a corner.

With the 959 being 4wd, this is even easier to do, as you have the front wheels pulling you along as well.

@davidt33 if you’re still having oversteer issues, here’s a general rule of thumb to correct it. If your car is spinning out on turn in, stiffen the front springs/anti-roll bar a bit. If it’s still spinning out, adjust your brake bias more towards the front and increase engine braking to minimize wheel lock up when changing gears, which would in turn produce a trail brake sensation and rotate the car.

If you’re spinning out coming out of the corners, soften the rear springs and “disconnect” the sway bar in the back (anti-roll bar to 0nm) and then slowly work your way back up to a sway bar setting you like.

Just a couple general rules I go by when tuning a bad handling car to try and tame it a bit ;)

I would like add adjusting the preload, and clutch plate angles on the diff and running the geared LSD helped me I was loosing to much from suspension adjustments without dialing in the diff. I'm still only pulling 1:45.1 for fast laps from the 911

:gtpflag: RACE DAY :gtpflag:

Three items to note for tonight:

1. Grp B - before joining the room, restart PCars if you have had it on already, then, before you pick the car in the lobby, make sure you change it so you pick by class, not by manufacturer (R2). Then pick the 959 and don't touch it again. Your turbo should work.

2. All penalties will be on again. The track is fairly forgiving, but if you cut a chicane you will be warned to slow down. There is a warning sound as well now since the update. Also since the update, there is not supposed to be any more issues with drivers getting silly penalties, but we shall soon find out.

3. 10 min qualifier between races now. So standing starts for all three races. No reverse grid rolling starts. This just really simplifies the process, free's up my time between races and puts an end to a lot of issues that come with the rolling starts.

Track - Porsche Leipzig
Race 1 - 16 Laps - Dry
Race 2 - 16 Laps - Wet
Race 3 - 16 Laps - Dry

Grp A - 911 Carrera RSR - Max Starting fuel = 15 liters (double check your fuel please guys, I got 1.53 L/L avg but only did a few laps)
Grp B - 959S - Max starting fuel = 20 liters

Tonight's invite list is below, which includes those new or returning drivers that have requested to be with us tonight and are considered active. There are 18 drivers listed, so please remember, it is first come first served.

Good move Aero. The simpler the better. Will speed things along also. Win-Win.

BTW, I've decided to give somebody else a chance to race tonight and let y'all have all the fun racing with the Porches on Leipzic because I'm such a generous fella. All the best. But remember....just when you thought it was safe... (in Arnold's voice)..."I'll be back".

Hiccups aside, I had an absolute blast tonight. My only regret is that I got booted out of the lobby before I could rejoin the 2nd race. The rain looked super fun. Robby and Vaper had a killer race for the final laps though, and I thoroughly enjoyed sipping my beer and watching them battle it out. Actually, if anyone has the replay saved, give it a look. They made those Porsches look awesome sliding through the chicanes.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate having this group to come back to after the past couple months. You guys are just too fun to socialize with, and make sim-racing so fun with your (intended) clean driving. I know we all make mistakes, but the intention is to keep it clean, and that makes it so fun.

Special thanks to @aerolite and @Mike Lobban for keeping this going for what's going on one year. Obviously you're doing something right, because it's still going strong. And Steve, if I have to, I'll start running block for you for the next couple weeks. We need to see you get through a week without getting taken out.

Thanks again everyone. I'm so happy too race with you again. And @GTLehman , @GUTTERBOY3007 , @davidt33 , I missed you guys tonight! Hopefully I'll see you again soon.

Yeah, sorry I missed too - I got down to a 1.48 in my last practice stint! Next week I am night shift (which means I'm safe until 11EST) and the week after I am off, so hopefully the BoB gods will give us something really, really good. Great to have you back Jeff - we have missed you for sure amigo.

Hey guys great racing last night it was very fun. I had a great time harassing @RobbiefromBC in the rain the last few laps. I would like to bring up the third race it seemed like the group B guys got there car figured out a bit more which ended up generating more racing because of it I would like to see more races were group b guys are in a slightly faster car so we get more side by side racing.

:gtpflag: RESULTS :gtpflag:

As we expected, that was certainly an interesting evening! Glad you all had fun and I was happy to see nobody have any turbo issues with the 959. Was definitely some strange things happening with the lobby last night though.

It was fun getting to pass some A guys or mixing it up with them for a few laps.....cough...Sgeti.....cough......I agree with Vaper, it's fun to be in cars that are close in performance, we will definitely do that some more. Much faster, or close in performance, both offer different and fun challenge's so we will try and keep it interesting.

I quite liked doing the qualy before each race, certainly was easier, my vote is to keep it that way, what do you guys think?

Welcome to Rob, nothing like throwing yourself into the fray.....I hope you stick around with us, as I know it won't be long before you are right up there battling for the lead. Jeff, GR8 to see you back! And congrats to Vaper and Nick, both of them getting there second overall wins. Nick, that's two out of only four nights with us, you know what this means!

And Slobban, you really need to get your **** together in the pits, Bear might have to give up his "I mess up my pits" title soon :D

Congrats to @Vaper58, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Grp A overall win

Congrats to @dret7277, this weeks "Mr. Baawesome" for the Grp B overall win
