Oh Bear... Steve allows you to pick a new track, and you pick four.![]()
I guess bears are very indecisive. You just need a decision machine!
You know I'm just grinding your gears. I got online for a a couple hours to practice, and thought "great, now I don't know where to practice."I didn't want to pick one, and have him say, we just ran that recently. I guess I should have said please pick one of these 4.

Bear, I don't have time to test a few different tracks as all tracks should be tested, but that wasn't the point. I was giving you the chance to pick another track because you balked at us changing to Historic SPA, not give me a choice of a few different ones.Oh Bear... I don't think the 908 would have got wasted at modern spa, but it will sure get blown away at historic spa, rain or no rain. I think it will be wreck fest there. My idea was to have close racing between the two classes. When I picked spa I had not realized it had already been prioritized. I did not expect you to test every track. Just pick one of the 4. I have suggested tracks in the past, and have been told " we just ran that not too long ago" that's why I gave more than one. All 4 tracks I suggested have tight corners to give the 908 a chance to reel in the 917.There is an archive of results to see where we have run, report#3

So we are staying at Historic SPA, Mike and I have tested there and have weather scenario figured out.
Sorry for the confusion guy's, I was just trying to be helpful.
Yeah, sorry I just get too passionate about historic class when it gets picked, it's really the only cars I'm any good in. The rest is just waiting until the next historic race. I think it's because there's not as much tuning available in historic. I've learned to just make minor adjustments so I don't tune myself to the back. But in the new cars tuning wizards can get 2-3 seconds a lap faster than my basically stock tune.I guess Bear shoulda picked the 69 Camaro.
IMO, Historic Spa is the perfect track for the historic Porsches. Butt squeezing speed and milliseconds away from disaster on every inch of the track makes for a great combo.
The thing about running our league or any league for that matter is the necessity sometimes to make executive decisions against somebody's wishes. This is one of those times. We decided Reds combo at New Spa would be a better choice for the track. Actually, I have been bugging Steve about running this HSpa combo since the Porsche pack came out.
Steve and I can always go back to just picking cars and tracks for you without input. It's more work for us, but it works. No controversy to spoil a good buzz and I think we have mostly succeeded in bringing fun combos to the table. Input is always regarded and stored in the memory banks for future use when we get lazy.
And, don't worry Bear, I have an idea for a combo that includes the 69. Stay tuned for more information on that.
This is all getting waaaaaay too confusing. I say we just do the Formula Festival again.... You know, since we had issues and all... (running to hide with David)
I'll tell you what Bear, I'll open a room tonight and just run fun classic races. You tell me what to pick and we will race them. Apologies again, I just built it up too much in my mind and got too excited to try and beat the 917 with a 908. If I knew how to set up a single race picking those 2 cars only.....
It was fun to watch my brother beat some of the v8 can am back markers with his 1600cc cosworth lotus 23b.
I would love to do all classics I'm inI'll tell you what Bear, I'll open a room tonight and just run fun classic races. You tell me what to pick and we will race them. I'll even have a Porsche race at new Spa.
That's if my connection issues don't reappear, it's not just my wheel but controller too. Stumped.
You are a real pal mike.. wish I could use my computer skills to help with your connection issues. Oh..oh.. I know super squirrels!! You need super squirrels!... they fixed me up!. That reminds me, I've got to feed them, storm coming in.I'll tell you what Bear, I'll open a room tonight and just run fun classic races. You tell me what to pick and we will race them. Yeah... I pick up the phone and call my provider....Computer skills?
Just double-checking about the Porche 908 that it's not one of the devil Porches you have to select in a roundabout way to get it to work proper. You could select it the normal way right? Both are Safe David. I think the 908 is a naturally aspirated v8 anyway... could be wrong though!
You have to open a lobby, choose the 908, go to Leipzeg track first, drive out of the pits and look left where you will see a roundabooot, drive counterclockwise around it four times then return to the pits in reverse. Back out of the lobby and then you will be good to go at HSPA!Just double-checking about the Porche 908 that it's not one of the devil Porches you have to select in a roundabout way to get it to work proper. *Don't hurt me*
Don't you have wipers on your helmet??,!!!Just did some practice laps with the Porche 908 on Spa Historic. That is a nice car man. It nice and stable with good traction. Probably cause it wide, flatish and have them fat tyres. Talking bout nice and stable on Current weather, Spring, Clear, with Time at: 14:00 (2:00pm) eh. Don't know how it would be with godforsaken rain and no windshield wipers to boot.
Only thing I found at Spa Historic, 14:00 (2:00pm), clear, it was hard to see the mini track map as it was disappearing at times with little contrast against the sky when the blue became a lighter whitish hue which diminished for me a further clue to where the car was at a given point in time in relation to upcoming corners. That was the one thing I didn't like too much other than not being too familiar with that particular (Historic) track.
What you talking bout Willis?Don't you have wipers on your helmet??,!!!
I think the 908 does have a turbo - it's got a little boost gauge on the right . Not where I can check right now though .
Just got new wipers on my helmet....
I did.. but I had new spa in mind. We did a 10 minute race at new spa last night, but with the lemans 917 vs the 908. X-rad was only 4 seconds behind at the finish. we did a second one at laguna seca. X-rad almost took the win. If we had thrown rain in there, it would have got real interesting. So these 917 go almost 250 mph and spa is a normal road. Who suggested this race?
It's actually a squeegee, you have to work it by hand. How do you turn on the wipers in your helmet?
