Well at freaking last.
<-----Not last.
I'd like once again to thank the Cheeses for restarting the first race to accommodate me (and also the rest of the guys for agreeing) when I got unceremoniously disconnected from the game through no fault of mine just at the end of initial qualification especially when I had set a good time and decent position. That was a huge scare to say the least so extremely grateful for the consideration. Didn't mind too much having then to start from the back. That race was sure a hoot.
Major congrats to Colts for your splendid finishes bro. You sure were on fire.
Congrats to you too Aero bro. Good going.
Lobbie I felt real sorry for you about that pit stop not properly refuelling you, poor ting. I felt your pain.
Leman what happened with your cornering bro? That was pretty unusual. I was watching your replay and you seemed to be having real trouble turning in.
Anyway thanks again all for the race. I quite enjoyed it. I think LeMans Vintage has now become my favourite track. Cheers all.
Congrats to Colts and Aero, and Congrats to David!
I really love these cars, but just never truly got comfortable in my own tunes. During my practices I tried different things, but just couldn't find a balance that was fast AND stable, for me at least. After the races, I got Aero's tune for the Porsche and it was great - The car actually turned in!
Fortunately I had turned down my volume and FX, but even then a few times I bounced onto the grass and once into SGETI during quali - sorry about that SGET. Big Time and I had the 'race of errors' the second race which I only one because I managed not to screw up the last thirty seconds! Fun racing though Dave.
And the game still does have it's weird little bugs and such, very sorry for what happened to you Mike. I don't believe it was a 'bug', but out of the blue My Ferrari had no brakes at the end of the Mulsanne. The brake temps weren't bad and I hadn't encountered that in any of my practice races so who knows. Maybe it was simulating a greasy track. My throttle pedal has also been acting up again the past few weeks. I opened and cleaned it, but it seems like there's some flex somewhere, as most of the time to get full 100% full throttle instead of 98% I had to plane my tow and then plant my heel on the base. Then I would have to cycle through my hud to check it.
So, not a perfect night, but I still loved it. I'd trade 1000 GT6 wins driving a Dodge at Apricot Hill for last night's race. I could almost smell the tires and oil, and I think I saw Steve McQueen in the pits. The fact that these cars took focus just heightened the feel, and the sound, oh yes DAT SOUND.
I absolutely would like to see this night again, and we know Mike, Jeff, Gutter, Robbie and a few others do to. Maybe the same cars, maybe the 'other' 512 and 917s, maybe a combo of all four. Maybe throw in Daytonas and or F40LMs. Lots of options. F*k yeah!
