I wish it was just the femor......his pelvis at the hip joint was shattered too.
What sucks is I have to wait for a while before I can practice his new walk to imitate it. I had the old one down perfect....ask Sgeti.
I hope to be one of the first non family members be be allowed to see him when he's out of ICU. I'll pass on all of your concern when that happens.
I'll update when there's any news.

Couple shots from tonight's practice. Good selection of yellow cars for these makes... wonder if Aero was onto something. :)

Just read all the post. That sucks what happened to Steve. I hope he has a speedy recovery. People need to pay more attention on the road especially when there is a motorcycle around. Wish him the best from me. I will get a card in the mail within the next couple of days.

On another note put me down as a reserve for tonight. Family is going on a day trip today so I don't think that I will be able to make it back in time.

Got it Spiff. I'll send an invite anyway just in case.

I have no updates on Steve yet today other than his meds are strong enough that he feels no pain. I think they may be working on the lower part of his leg today. I think his little pecker pulled through, good thing it's so small.

TONIGHT.....YELLOW CARS FOR ALL

We will open the room at 7:45 as usual, at 8:00, I'll start one of three practice races with time in between for stragglers to join. There will be no qualifying, you start where you start and you will like it. Weather will be clear and hot on the coasts, so no surprises there
We'll start the real racing at 8:45 as usual with the Ford at both tracks, the Beamer at both tracks and the Volkswagen at both tracks. Both tracks are difficult and there will be mayhem, but please try and be as clean as possible. After we race all that, if there's time and interest we can run both tracks in reverse.
I'm going to keep the racing licence on just to encourage cleaner driving, but leave all other penalties off.
Because qualy is eliminated, this will be a non points night with an honorary Awwwwwwesome and Baaawesome crown to our missing Cheeze and BoB.
Thanks to McInnes for offering to do scoring while Aerocrip is on the mend, we'll talk this week.

See you tonight boys.......and Colts.

Update.....

Steve spent 11 hours in surgery yesterday to attempt to repair his pelvis and hip, ouch, next week they will address all the other broken bones on his left side....He will be in intense care for a while. All of the bones on his left lower body are damaged, I don't know about his pecker, it might have survived.
It just goes to show that experience is no match for stupidity. Steve is the safest and most experienced rider that I know. If he can get taken out, anybody can.
His address is 448 Donaghue
Oxford Mills On.
K0G1S0
Please send him some cards, funny cards, rude cards, it'll be a while before he has anything to laugh about.
The last thing he said to his wife before going under the knife was not to let the Lounge fade away.
How's about for support we all drive yellow(yuk) cars for this Monday.

Hey, what is Steve's last name - I know I have heard it once or twice, but can't remember it right now.

LOL. Thank God for small mercies.

Volkswagon???? How Volkswagon jump in the dance? Thought it was Ford Escort RS1600 (R), BMW 2002 StanceWorks and Porche 911 Carrera RSR?

Porsche used to be volkswagen way back in the early days, I think the 924 shared engine parts with the rabbits from the 80’s... 914’s were also using VW 4cylinders at the time if I remember correctly.

Ever wondered why the early beetles and the 356’s looked alike?

Yep .and Porsce made parts for Tiger tanks too.

Switch the B and S before the Y. His name always makes me think of this game.
Ahhh, thank you! Yes Busby, the slang term for a Coldstrem guardsman's 'bearskin'...

Of course our resident VW racer will keep us informed on the original makers of Porsche :sly:. Congratulations are in order for @RobbiefromBC for his 1st place at Sonoma last week!. I'm sure Robbie didn't want to announce his fortune in the wake of Steve's misfortune, but I'm also sure Steve would would be excited to hear about Robbie's win in spite of his accident. Way to go Robbie. Hopefully you recorded your race - I actually enjoy watching them from green to checker.

Mike, thanks so much for keeping us updated about Steve's condition. I'm still just sick about it. Steve's got a great outlook and positive attitude about life in general. Surely that will serve him well throughout his recovery.

Thanks Jeff, I did record it and will post my second place finish from Saturday up. Sunday was boring when I ran away from the field...

I didn’t think it would have been in good taste to share (read brag) my results after hearing about our buddy Steve, glad to hear that he’s in a stable state, albeit with a pinky sized winky ;)

It was an awesome night of racing once again. Sorry Steve couldn't be there in person, but we made sure he was in our thoughts all of the time with the yellow cars.

There will also be new "King of the Coasts"

One of my personal highlights can be seen in this clip. Earlier I took out Hog of the Golly (Sorry Pal) and waited for him to pass again (not the highlight). We were 7th and 8th and dropped down to 12th and 13th due to the accident. I thought it was a high speed corner coming up and didn't brake and sent him flying.

The clip itself starts when I made it back to 11th and chasing a pack of cars ahead of me - getting by 5 of them in a short period of time. (Note, some where not passing - it was rather missing them....

What a night. Intense but fun. Sure got to keep your head on on those tracks. I had a blast.
Just watched I think the entire replays by McInnis aka sgohsixthree. Always so much fun watching the replays with all the spontaneous running audio feedback from the guys. You don't want to skip through to miss anything. Gonna check out Rednose one later soon as I get a chance.

What a fun night of racing!! Did not expect it to be as fun as it was.

IMO, we should definitely do the coasts more frequently. Specially when the boss is back.

@Rednose58, I was checking your stream today and saw contact on my part on the BMW @ California.

On my screen it did not show any contact man, otherwise I would have returned the position. Check 1:53:15

Sorry I missed joining last night guys. I was setting up the home theater and forgot I’m now in Central, not Mountain, time zone and missed the start time.

Mike, thanks for letting us know how Steve’s doing. He’s got a long road of rehab ahead of him and he’ll get bored waiting to heal up. Once he’s up to it, can you see if he has either the Pocketmags or ZINIO magazine apps? I’d like to “gift” him some electronic copies of airplane/car/bike/tech/gaming magazines to help him pass the time. Thanks!

I don't know if sending him motorcycle magazines is a good idea?

Yep, strange. My Game Copy must compensate for my wide ass and yours doesn't know it.....

I also had an incident with Rednose back on Watkins Glen when we were racing the GTE Ford and GTE Corvette. I think it was back in November maybe? On Rednose screen it looked as if my car hit him and spun him around.....on my end there was absolutely no contact whatsoever. I also had this happen with Bear once at Zhuhai. I believe our systems can't compensate some of the "really sharp turns" here and there. Although "my system" knows I have the wheel cranked all the way to the left to go around a sharp corner..."your system" if even for that slight millisecond.....thinks it may be going a little be more of a straight line. That's just what I've noticed a couple of times

A group I was with back in 2006-2008 playing Motorstorm on PS3 dealt with that a lot. That's where I was introduced to what lag was

The cause is lag, most likely Rednose system did not register my car turning fast enough thus leading to contact on his end..... Wide rear end as he says...:D

Maybe not right away, but motorcycles are in his soul. I’ve wrecked a few bikes and thank God I never got injured like he did, but I still miss riding. I’ve had so many more good times/memories from my racing and riding days that far outweigh the bad times/memories of rode rash or broken bones. It’ll be awhile until he wants to get on one again, but I really hope he’s ok and tries again. If I get another motorcycle it will be for trackdays only. There are too many inattentive cage drivers out on the street and I’d spend too much time worrying versus having fun.
