^^^This post needs grumpy cat.

I can still see both sides. Both come into the equation I'm sure. 👍

Nessy's comment about Matchbox reminded me of when I first entered this hobby though. I thought the Matchbox cars were impressive. They had more grownup selection of cars & better, more realistic details(this would've been 2011-ish?).

@a6m5 - what's wrong with the Viper in the garage? I see a hefty service bill coming up. :nervous:

I won't explain this again! That half is the showroom! Garage is on the right!

Looks like the showroom is becoming a garage - that Viper looks like it's from a chop-shop.

MBX makes very playful models as well as many "old people's" cars. :)

Old people's car: ;)

It's the proverbial Pink Cadillac.

Not that they ignore the sportier side, though:

Wow. I googled it a bit & as far as I can tell, it's vintage engrish. Initially, I was leaning toward "Chimica", and while it is pronounced that way in Japanese, I now believe that it is a mispronunciation of "Timica" in Japan. On the front of the card, along the bottom, it reads: Timmy's Minicar Series. I'm guessing that little Buckingham Palace Guard-boy is Timmy, though I could be completely wrong.
 You..... I'm sorry to say, but you remind me of a drug dealer. :dopey:

I never got the chance to check out the old Kyosho R32, but I recently received the one from their new Skyline series. It's fantastic.

"Flipping Sugoi" :lol::lol:

I might be a drug dealer. I'm bad with my money, and unlike several of my friends, I still can't afford my own car.

The differences in the R32 are subtle... or maybe the castings for the R32 and BNR32 are actually different...or maybe they retooled it during the Beads phase, because according to one of my sources there's an old and a new version of the exact same Beads model. We'll find out soon enough.

Sadly, that's the only 1:64 in that post.

Here's the entire post with lots 1:43 photos

Hmmmm.... as far as I can see, they're good models for the money. Looking forward to get those Ferraris in the future. Though Kyosho still has to sell 1:64 Ferraris unassembled...

Cool forklift BTW Harry. 👍 But the driver better be careful with those logs.. needs some back tilt.

He shouldn't even be lifting it that high - maniac.
The problem is that when I go into the diorama area to take shots all the little people either get stage-fright, or start hamming it up.

I wish i still had it. Used to love the fact it had tilt as well as lift.
What happened to you MBX?..

Sad. If they had only been fostered to improve on the quality they were developing they would have come out with some awesome models with present manufacturing tech.

@AOS- I have some of those Maistos; they are fairly decent quality for the money.

Believe me, it's worth it to spend the money, the price is very very good for the Cadoo. Bring it down to 23 and that's a sweeeeeet deal. Do it.
That must be some Cadillac then. The opening hood and it's minty condition is convincing. :mischievous: Jack told me he would go down to $18 for the Paddy Wagon and $16 for the Custom Beetle, so $23 is what he may go down to for the Custom El Dorado. I may try to see if I can convince my dad to pay part for it so I don't go over $20, hopefully his desire to get it that I inherited from him will kick in and he will want it too.

Personally if I could get any vehicle regardless of the price, I would get that Moving Van or the Custom Fire Chief Crusier.

It sounds like you'd like to see more pictures.

Yup, Britain's noisiest crisps. That definitely was a factor that helped me decide to buy it.

And a family photo.
Two minty Sierra's and a boat to go with it?

Once again. Screw. you.

Also I dig that BMW. 👍 That's another casting I wish I had.

And if you ever find any way over $15, seller is asking too much. Street cars, depending on how popular it may be, you can expect them to be as low as $10, and as high as the Racing cars.

Really? I thought they'd be way more expensive. Please remind me to look for some in a year or so.

I don't see what there is to buy or not buy. The fact that the F&F series has been a success has a ton to do with it, no one said it didn't. There are a million aspects to what we are seeing from Hot Wheels, good and bad. The success of Matchbox in the late 00's was a huge factor to a lot of models getting greenlighted by Hot Wheels this decade. There was a lot of competition between the folks in charge of each brand, even while in the same building, until the powers that be killed it with the brand change at Matchbox. My discussion of those points does not discount the success of the F&F line being the main factor in the Escort's creation, but I chose to highlight another factor as well, for interest's sake. It is a lot more interesting than "the F&F series was a success, so they made an Escort." In all honesty, the VW Caddy is a better example of what I am talking about.

The VW Caddy or any other car that is not a TV/entretainment-related car. Don't get me wrong, I get what you are saying and agree to a certain degree on it, and enjoy that HWs has given us castings of oddball cars and stuff, but talking about it while discussing a car with "The Fast and Furious" on the blistercard almost makes me laugh.

I'll thow out a trully good example of what you are saying, and it's the most equivalent car to a RS Escort this side of another RS Escort that I can think of: the BMW 2002. The casting was well made and depicted a modified version of the car like the Escort, people dug it, and it was a great example of global car culture permeating into the HW mainline. We had 4 versions of it so far and you could find them hanging in the pegs at all time because, even if desirable, the car did not have the black market aura that the Escort will. THAT is a great example of what you're saying and I would have completely agreed on it if you had said such a ting while discussing the 2002. The Escort? @Nessy just said it:

It just seems to me they're capitalising on the F&F appeal. And i feel that is the sole reason *we're getting the Escort RS1600*. If it weren't for that film series, i doubt very much that we'd be getting it.

*I use the phrase "we're getting the Escort RS1600" very loosely, as i'm sure for many of us, it'll be unobtainable, due to.. well you know..*

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Duuuuuuude did you deliver! That's awesome. Thanks.

Er, how about the rear of the card? Car names?

Oh ffs can we just appreciate the car for what it is?

We are. I'll refer to @Nessy again:

*I use the phrase "we're getting the Escort RS1600" very loosely, as i'm sure for many of us, it'll be unobtainable, due to.. well you know..*

We're appreciating -anticipating is a better term- the car for what it is: a scalper's dream and a great way of making money for HW. Also, appreciate it? You will never find one, and you will have to pay extra for it. Same for any other series in which the car appears in F&F livery. You know when will we be able to apprecite it? When it appears in other colors, which is when people will stop caring about it because not F&F anymore, and when we will be able to find it hanging on the pegs, because I don't know you, but I'm not gonna pay the $10-15 it's going to cost me one of them mainline things. If you do, fine, appreciate it.

It's a rare car and it's in great shape too. I'd hurry, I can't imagine it lasting too long in there for such a price in that condition. I'd grab it without hesitation, and I'm a cheapstake.

I've seen one seller listing them for $28 with no interested buyers. His/her competition is still getting away with $15-16 listings (tomca1981). If tomca runs out of his Minichamps, and no other seller can sell it for a similar price, you'll be left with limited options.

Poor Shinji. Hey I like your username, I'm a fan of the Audi A6 and BMW M5 too. :)

:p

Also, must say that I'm looking forward to the Be-1 being released in July. Love the trunk bag on the back. Cool touch.

^ I have a red TLV Be-1 on my wishlist, but I've noticed the balance on my bank account is estimated to be $5000 less than what I should've had by now if I didn't start this hobby back in 2011 or whatever. When my current orders come in, I have to put this on a huge hiatus, and this theoretically will work so long as I never visit any shopping sites. :scared:

In the mean time, I'll be distracting myself with other cooler things to do than shop. Or at least, I'll try my best.

i tried to that one time, but ended up spending 834$ in one day on 1:43 models.... You have to fight the urge man, FIGHT IT!!

Old video, but if you haven't seen it, this guy takes his business to the streets.

If I can convert the time I spend on collector business to uninterrupted drawing, it should be able to work. I know I've been telling myself to cut back for the past 2 years, and I have managed to drop the count on cars (thank you Walmart for never updating your bins). The only problem is that now it's turned into an issue of spending more money than my wages pay off. That's why I started keeping track of my spending so I can be constantly reminded what a fool I am every time I click "pay now".

Right now, I want to at the very least stop spending until I've recovered that amount of moolah.

I have some JDM Classics they made, and while they are interesting, I'll likely never order them again.

OK, maybe later. I have to warn you though. If there are more than say 25 car names on there to translate, I will post something rude & obscene.

It may surprise you, but I'm not that keen on the luggage thing. If it was a Nissan factory item/accessory, then I'd go along, but yeah, I'm not that excited about this one. *shrug*

🤬

Very humbling, though I suspect some editing job.

I know exactly what you mean. The "confirm and paynow" is such a simple click, with a ton of repercussions. You just gotta empty the cart and close out the windows.

I live paycheck to paycheck. Sure some might consider that being broke all the time, but I make my bills and as long as I can get to the next check on food & gas, I'm cool.

With that said, more Greenlights on the way. :D
