1/64 Model Collectors Thread

I thought "Neo" was its way of declaring a movement on modern cars, but Wiki says the TLV series began in 2004 and TLV-N began in 2006. The TLV-N line also did cars form the 70s and 80s... so basically, the stuff you have now are, according to Wiki, part of the TLV-N line.

To me, I read that like Kyosho's Ferrari Minicar 8 and Ferrari Minicar 8 Neo, where it's a sequel release under the same root name.

What do you think?

They currently release both TLV & TLV-Neo. By my observation, older cars are released as "TLV", newer(maybe 70's or 80's & newer) cars as TLV Neo.

Edit: I didn't realize they went as far back as 2004 & 2006. I wonder if that's why so many cars I chased were so damn expensive. Never actually paid attention to the year they were released.

Well I have to save something for the actual feature on the model when it comes out. But I am the same height of that Scotsman so when I have a million dollars to buy a 2000GT I might have to do the same.

Oh, hey guys! I received two cars in the mail today:

Greenlight Northwest Fest ZAMAC Ramcharger & RLC '69 Pontiac GTO

Another Greenlight that simply cannot be looked over.

First GL GTX that interested me for sure. I think it's the wheels & stance. With different color, it would've been a lock. Even as is, I may want one. 👍

Goddddd I was hoping I got myself a Nismo Z Test Car 2007, but it turns out it was an even lesser common Beads. I doubted its legitimacy for about 2 minutes since I couldn't find "KYOSHO" anywhere on the box until I looked more carefully and found only one name... in fine print... in Japanese.


I ain't even gonna ask.

I like them as much as the next guy, but apparently, not as much as you. We both remember that real life orange Beret/Bellett from awhile back. If they made one like that, I would be all for it.

It's like Johnny's obsession with the Suzuki Alto. Can't really explain why, just something that really draws me to them. That photo you posted, gorgeous. Love it.

Ramcharger casting does look rather great too. Can easily see why it's one of your favourite's. 👍

Bburago may have taken Kyosho's lunch money, but did not lay a finger on their moulds.

I don't really see any of those as 'collectibles', though. Do you?

As long as you don't want a rare color, the Python is pretty cheap to have in decent condition. I specially like it in antifreeze and light blue.

Well, it's the rare colours I especially like. But out of my reach right now - I may as well think of going after the Mona Lisa or Van Gogh's Starry Night. The worst part? They get rarer by the year, even more harder to find, and even more expensive. As investors buy and sell them they eventually fall into the hands of a real collector, who then would never part with them, and they disappear off the market.
Last I heard there were about 40 million HW collectors . . . though I'm not really sure about that figure.

The anti-freeze Python keeps calling . . . and now it may start to haunt my dreams.

I think it's only matter of time before Ben returns, because when he was settled in his house, he planned on unpacking much of his collection. Plus he gets distracted by LEGOs.

I'm glad you brought this up, because I totally spaced the Trail Duster/Ramcharger relationship. In fact, the "Ramcharger" I was referring to, and one of the very first Greenlight I ever bought was actually a Trail Duster(orange). I also have the Black Bandit, which I adore, but I'm sure that one is a Ramcharger.
