Me neither, not even close, but I got lucky on that one.
Oh you and all your extra things. If you just stuck with TLV's, you wouldn't have this problem. :p And hopefully last months order does arrive this week. 👍
ME TOO!!!

I didn't want to wait and risk the thing blowing up in price in a few months. Ended up bidding and winning one for US$30 +$5 shipping last week. No regrets.

I'd think it is entirely possible the value will drop under $20, but that's after several years when every desperate one of us already has one. That still may not come true due to the limited amounts there are.

I can see all the other Bentleys dropping below $10 in 2 years.

Edit: Guess I'll release another photo:

There appears to be some paint residue on the rear right of this Renault. I figure some polishing could fix that. When I get around to it.

I think they would get along great with @AOS- 's?... es?... sss Renault 4L

EDIT:
Rally themed page?

"Cheesy French accent" Ah, ze blue Renaults are quite ze nice sight, oui? J'aime les Alpines, quelles voitures!

Oh wait, English language, got it. Nice Norevs, the stance seems off again on both (or is it just me), but they look good. Especially the Alpi, blue doesn't really suit a 5 Turbo. Those suckers should be red...

I was close to getting that Alpine, but in the interest of spending less, I had cut it off my order.

Also, nice ride height you got going on that Renault. Mine is just as bad. At least your car doesn't have the crooked eye look.

Screw all of you and your Norevs.

I don't want to spend more. Stop.

I don't want to spend more either. Oh hey. Why don't you buy these off me? Good price too. The US won't have these available.

The Alpine's stance is fine, but the R5's stance is weird, yup. And you're wrong, R5's need to be blue. It's historical.

Thank you for posting Norevs.

I want to spend more. Take my money!

What was that? :sly:

It's the same stuff I told over on FB, I have absolutely no money at all right now and still owe a fairly big sum

My problem is, they post freaking Renaults. Right in my european weak point, along with Citroens.

If it makes you feel any better, it is my own weakpoint as well, while adding Peugeots to the mix. Norev makes normal and GT (for both the hatch and the SW versions) of the new Peugeot 308. If it was the ugly old one, I would not give a turd, but the new one? Curse you, Norev.

Case in point:

(Note: No, it is not mine. Sadly)

Argh, my feels.

Ok, so it was only one car with an off stance. Still counts. :p And yes, forgot about bleu being France's racing colour, fair enough. After all, Renault used that colour a lot for sporty cars.

Ok, the anntenae are so big, they could be seen from the moon. The rest is pretty cool of course, but that much is obvious when you're dealing with a blue Impreza rally car.

Modern Peugeots = lamest french cars ever. Sorry.

Guess Peugeot's modern reputation woes are hard to shake off, eh? Why do you say that, may I ask? At least it isn't the bad days of the old 308 (2nd worst car in History all things considered, by Top Gear)...

They're just lame, soul-less cars to me. They've always been my least favourite french car brand, altough they do have some cool stuff, but they're way far aback. In recent times they're just ew.

Fair enough, it's just that Volkswagen is the "soulless" brand for me, and I have a good past with Peugeots (dad owned a 206 hatch, a 307 hatch and now a 307 SW), so there's that. I just enjoy seeing the newer Peugeots because at least they seem to be more refined and nicer to the eyes than their old counterparts. Personal preference, really. They are not uber-cool, but they are nice at least. But I do agree that the times of the 207 and the old 308 are simply ew.

I think that's only the older ones that had thick antennas.

It's antennas by the way as we're talking about mechanical parts. Antennae is for creatures.

Volkswagen is the soulless brand for the entire world, don't worry. It went to hell with water.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who thinks that, then.

Oops, there goes my English up in smoke already, I must be having an off day again. Thanks for clarifying that one. 👍

Back on topic, here's my own take of a rally car:

My Majorette Peugeot 307 CC WRC, featuring some flash in the picture.

Not bad, guess there is more than one type of Peugeot 307 CC WRCs that Majorette made. And I apparently own a more common version, Europe-wise.

Also, dang do I need to know how do you take pictures like that, mines are really amateur level of photography.

I made a thing last night in response to other folks sharing pics of their custom cars. Hit that link in my sig.

Oi, my camera is not bad!

Don't worry, just kidding. Great tips, need to save them somewhere, to remember them for future photos. 👍 Don't have Photoshop, but GIMP should do just nicely. And I obviously need a white sheet, because as you can see, my new desk is made from glass.

Yeah glass can be troublesome if you don't have a powerful light source to make up for the light that gets reflected.

See how little light is on that? I only use a single flash light so very little light was bouncing from the glass to the body, unlike an unreflective surface like paper:

Ford+Galaxie+1964+(2008+Multi-pack+Exclusive).jpg

When you have chrome wheels, you'll find it's the light surface that gets reflected off the wheels. You wouldn't be able to see much otherwise.

Hmm... Might just try using a sheet next time I try to take pictures on top of the glass desk. I do have a desk lamp, except it's not directly on top of the desk (it's one of those double lamp post thingies that has both a desk lamp and a lamp on top of the post itself). As for flash, it's probably best that I turn it off, no?

Flash is good for portraits, but I never use it. Adequate lighting is one thing, but where you position the light will dictate where the highlights and shadows will be. If you head to the Scale Model Thread, AMG at one point discusses how he stacks a bunch of the photos of the same car (each taken with the light source at a different position). You can ask him about it if you can't find the post. His method grants sufficient light everywhere.

I developed my setup through course of trial and error. I started out putting a light directly above the car. I wanted a spotlight look with highlights at the top with strong shadows underneath. But later, I noticed this wasn't able to provide sufficient lighting to front fender so I moved the light closer to me and pointed the light diagonally so I could get some light so the font lamps and wheel could get more visibility. Some of my photos would have light up the floor and leave the background pitch black. I didn't like the BG being too dark so, that's when I started pointing the flashlight more towards the back than directly at the car.

It took many tries, but I eventually get comfortable with a position that can provide light on 3 areas. Sometimes I have bad luck and have to fix that on Photoshop.
