Keep it up and you'll soon have more Siku's than me. They're not really carried in stores here anymore.

Unless I buy more older ones which, as a bonus, might make Cano jelly.

Well that just sucks, doesn't it? Unless you go online, there's no other for you to get new Siku cars. Then again, there is only one shop in the Valongo area that sells these, but I guess that one store more than the ones available in Slovenia... And only a handful of Sikus really interest me as we speak; the main one is of course that 4C, if I find one you can bet your wallet that I'll get it.

And yes, Cano would be pretty jellious of you buying vintage Siku cars. Also, Siku does scale boats; does that mean it's your favourite company?

Don't be silly, there are no favorites as all boats are created equal.

Ah, but of course, I forgot that you are the Based Boat God of this thread, silly me. Your fine laws imply that all boats are deserving of the same praise, and that no boat shall be ostracized for being different.

@Niku Driver HC Did you manage to pick up the Siku KTM X-Bow yet? I noticed in the catalogue it says it's due out in May. I was going to stop by the place that sells Siku over here, the other day and check for myself, but decided against as i knew i wouldn't be able to resist a questionable Siku purchase, for a second time..

Actually had this thing in my hand the last time i was there (along with the Alfa 4C), that 1/50 scale thing just about talked me out of both purchases, but looking at the pic, i'm feeling the urge again. :D

And... I've just managed to talk myself into acquiring it, again.

No, Doc, no X-Bows were available at the time I bought the Traction. If it was, I'd buy that over the Citroen in a heartbeat, but no models were available. I might just go for it if I see one in the forseeable future. Same goes for the 4C, of course.

Also, that RV is impossibly amazing. The moment I spotted it in the 2015 catalogue that I got, my jaw dropped. Siku even went to the trouble of adding a Wiesmann to show it can actually store a damm car inside it. And since I own a Siku Wiesmann, I'd have the whole set if I bought that... Incredible stuff, but the price of Siku buses is a bit off-putting. I'd rather spend that on a TLV Skyline Silhouette, to be honest.

Can we see a custom one where you paint yours silver???
I know that would be frowned upon by some members, but i can totally see myself doing just that.

Considering how much those Siku bus sets cost, I doubt it.
They are real pricey for what they are, but they're fairly unique, (can't think of another diecast manufacturer that does something similar). It would make it my 2nd most expensive diecast purchase, to date, (Kyosho 1/18 scale Nissan Skyline KPGC10, being my most expensive purchase). Wouldn't stop me from customising it though.

I hear ya, and again, yes they're quite pricey for what they are. The cost of a TLV Skyline Super Silhouette is actually more expensive (even from Japan Booster, and he's quite cheap), than the Siku bus. Though in fairness, the quality of any TLV far surpasses that of a Siku bus. 👍

Well, that's more or less the point, really. I know that a TLV Silhouette is more pricey, and probably a lesser TLV would match the cost of a single Siku bus better, but if I'm blowing that sort of Money like that, I might as well spend that on one of the best 1/64 racing cars ever made, no? 💡👍 And I'll buy it from Japan Booster, that is for sure.

It might be baller if Kyosho did another British Sports series.. mainly for the 12C and P1.

Or a potential Audi series... from hatches to le mans.

Well, just about everyone has a black Siku Traction Avant but me, no wonder you're the veterans here.

It isn't that old, that version must be about 6 years old or so.

You keep doin' dat. I have several old Sikus but most of them require extensive restoration :/

EDIT: Ah, I just remembered, I just acquired a really, really cool old Siku. I'll see if I can have some pics of it tonight. You gonna get the jelly this time.

Just purchased the Siku bus, but no X-bow (dealer still waiting on shipment). I'll try and take a few snaps in a short while.

I ended up paying £31 for the bus. A TLV Skyline Silhouette racer from crosssea222 (Japan booster) would cost me £48 (shipping included). The TLV is a stunning! diecast, though i personally couldn't justify (to myself) paying that amount for that particular version, (1983 early version) Japan booster has for sale. If it were the 1983 late version, and i had the money to drop on it, then yes i would be very tempted indeed. 👍

Hot Wheels vs. Kyosho - Porsche 918 Spyder:

Hmm, Kyosho's looks a tad bit more cohesive. Of course, with both Siku and Bburago adding the 918 to their 1/64 lines, things might get interesting...

That's old enough for me to call it "old".

Joke aside, while it's "only" six years old, it's old enough to not be found in normal stores, for a normal Siku price. Nevertheless, it's cool that it exists. As I said before, the black suits the Traction well.

Also, I'm eager to see that old Siku of yours, impress me. I'll see if I get jellious of you...

Cool beans Doc, can't wait to see that bus. As for the X-Bow, hopefully one of us will get it. I bet that you'll get your hands in one before I do, really.

Also, I see your point, it's just that I really love that damm Silhouette. That, and the Bluebird as well. If I ever get to buy a TLV, I'll have a hard time just deciding. The latest announced batch of TLV cars (Nissan 2020 VGT, Alfa and the Silvia) does not, I repeat, does not help my case. I know one thing for sure; I won't be buying a TLV truck anytime soon. If Siku's are expensive...

Latest AmiAmi stuff arrived much quicker than I was expecting, it was only shipped out on Monday. And I didn't even go with EMS shipping for this order. :D

^^^ I might have one of those Isuzu's on the way from the co-worker that's in Japan right now.

Also, going through the Auto Worlds and putting them in my display cases. These cars, in my most humble opinion, are the best TLV equivalent to 60's & 70's American muscle cars. The work they put into these things, especially the paint quality, is spectacular. Obviously not going to post photos of all 12 cars at the moment, but I will grab 1-2 here in a bit and take some shots. The plumb crazy Challenger is absolutely stunning. My photos will do them no justice, and for the $9.60-ish I paid for each one they are totally worth it.

I agree. While they are not on the same level as TLV (no separate light pieces, for instance, among other stuff) they are indeed the best brand this side of the pond has to offer at this scale.

Also, you're gonna enjoy the Bellet a lot, it's an awesome model.

Double post because awesome sauce. Edit: No double post because Cano.

Now, based on these photos, I would like to make a few suggestions to the good folks at Auto World:
  1. Paint the base of the cars flat black
  2. Figure out how to get more paint detail on the wheels
  3. Keep up the great work!
This Challenger is magnificent.

Just look at the reflection of the hood in the paint on top of the left fender! The paint quality is top notch.

Here's a couple examples of EPIC tampo quality. Check the red/white/blue on the Mustang emblem. (photo is kind of crappy, found the limits of my camera's zoom quality)
